YAH ACHAZ REIGNS OVER YISRA EL
In the twenty-third year of Yah Ash the son of Achaz Yah sovereign of Yah Hudah Yah Achaz the son of Yah Hu begins to reign over Yisra El in Shomeron - seventeen years; 2 and he works evil in the eyes of Yah Veh; and walks after the sins of Yarob Am the son of Nebat who had Yisra El sin; he turns not aside therefrom: 3 and Yah Veh kindles his wrath against Yisra El and he gives them into the hand of Haza El sovereign of Aram and into the hand of Ben Hadad the son of Haza El all their days: 4 and Yah Achaz strokes the face of Yah Veh and Yah Veh hears him: for he sees the oppression of Yisra El because the sovereign of Aram oppresses them. 5 And Yah Veh gives Yisra El a saviour, so that they go from under the hand of the Aramiy: and the sons of Yisra El settle in their tents as three yesters ago: 6 only, they turn not aside from the sins of the house of Yarob Am by which he has Yisra El sin, wherein they walk: and the asherah also stands there in Shomeron. 7 And of the people of Yah Achaz he survives naught but fifty cavalry and ten chariots and ten thousand on foot; for the sovereign of Aram destroys them and sets them as the dust by threshing. 8 And the rest of the words of Yah Achaz and all he works and his might, are they not inscribed in the scroll of the words of the days of the sovereigns of Yisra El? 9 And Yah Achaz lies down with his fathers; and they entomb him in Shomeron: and Yah Ash his son reigns in his stead. 10
YAH ASH REIGNS OVER YISRA EL
In the thirty-seventh year of Yah Ash sovereign of Yah Hudah Yah Ash the son of Yah Achaz begins to reign over Yisra El in Shomeron - sixteen years: 11 and he works evil in the eyes of Yah Veh; he turns not aside from all the sins of Yarob Am the son of Nebat, who had Yisra El sin: and he walks therein. 12 And the rest of the words of Yah Ash and all he works and his might wherewith he fights Amaz Yah sovereign of Yah Hudah, are they not inscribed in the scroll of the words of the days of the sovereigns of Yisra El? 13 And Yah Ash lies down with his fathers; and Yarob Am seats on his throne: and Yah Ash is entombed in Shomeron with the sovereigns of Yisra El. 14
THE FINAL COUNSEL OF ELI SHUA
And Eli Shua falls sick of his sickness whereof he dies: and Yah Ash the sovereign of Yisra El descends to him and weeps over his face and says, My father! My father! The chariot of Yisra El and their cavalry! 15 And Eli Shua says to him, Take bow and arrows. - and he takes bow and arrows. 16 And he says to the sovereign of Yisra El, Drive your hand on the bow. And he drives his hand on it: and Eli Shua puts his hands on the hands of the sovereign; 17 and he says, Open the window eastward! - and he opens. Then Eli Shua says, Shoot! - and he shoots. And he says, The arrow of the salvation of Yah Veh and the arrow of the salvation of Aram! Smite the Aramiy in Apheq until you finish them off. 18 And he says, Take the arrows! - and he takes. And he says to the sovereign of Yisra El, Smite to the earth! - and he smites three times and stays. 19 And the man of Elohim rages against him and says, By smiting five or six times you had smitten Aram until you had finished it off: and now, smite Aram three times. 20
THE DEATH OF ELI SHUA
And Eli Shua dies and they entomb him: and the troops of the Moabiy invade the land at the coming in of the year: 21 and so be it, as they entomb a man, behold, they see a troop; and they cast the man into the tomb of Eli Shua: and when the man descends and touches the bones of Eli Shua, he enlivens and rises on his feet. 22 And Haza El sovereign of Aram oppresses Yisra El all the days of Yah Achaz: 23 and Yah Veh grants them charism and mercies them and turns his face to them because of his covenant with Abraham, Yischaq and Yaaqov and wills neither to ruin them, nor cast them from his face as yet. 24
BEN HADAD REIGNS OVER ARAM
So Haza El sovereign of Aram dies; and Ben Hadad his son reigns in his stead: 25 and Yah Ash the son of Yah Achaz returns and takes the cities from the hand of Ben Hadad the son of Haza El which he took by war from the hand of Yah Achaz his father: and Yah Ash smites him three times and returns the cities of Yisra El.
