CLV⁽ⁱ⁾ ¹ To your mouth with the trumpet! One as a vulture is over the house of Yahweh, because they trespass against My covenant, and against My law they transgress." ² To Me will they cry out, My Elohim, we, Israel, know You." ³ Israel casts off the good. An enemy shall pursue him. ⁴ They made kings, yet not from Me; they made chiefs, yet I did not know. Of their silver and their gold they made their grief fetishes, that they may be cut off." ⁵ Cast off your calf, Samaria! Hot is My anger against them. Till when are they being incapable of innocency? ⁶ For even this is from Israel; an artificer made it, and no Elohim is it, for backslidings are coming to be by your calf, Samaria." ⁷ For they are sowing the wind, and they shall reap the sweeping whirlwind. There is no raised grain for him; the sprout shall fail to yield meal; perhaps it shall yield, but then aliens shall swallow it down." ⁸ Israel is swallowed down. Now shall they come to be among the nations, as an instrument in which there is no delight." ⁹ For they ascend to Assyria, a wild ass, solitary; by himself is Ephraim. They dispense to lovers;" ¹⁰ moreover seeing that they are dispensing among the nations, now I will convene them, yet they shall wait a little before anointing a king and chiefs." ¹¹ For Ephraim increases altars to sin. They become to him altars to sin. ¹² I am writing to him many things of My law; they are reckoned as though alien, ¹³ even sacrifices of My bounties. They are sacrificing flesh, and they are eating it. Yahweh does not accept them. Now He is remembering their depravity and is noting their sins. They shall return to Egypt." ¹⁴ Israel is forgetting his Maker, and he is building temples. And Judah increases defended cities. Yet I will send fire into his cities, and it shall devour their citadels."
