1 Therefore when Festus came to the government and three days after went up from Caesarea to Jerusalem,
2 the chief priests and the principal men of the Jews laid before him an information against Paul
3 and earnestly intreated him to favour them so far as to send for him to Jerusalem; [they having laid an ambush to kill him on the road.]
