¹ These also are the Priestes and the Leuites that went vp with Zerubbabel, the sonne of Shealtiel, and Ieshua: to wit, Seraiah, Ieremiah, Ezra,

¹⁷ And the sonnes of Ieconiah, Assir and Shealtiel his sonne: ¹⁸ Malchiram also and Pedaiah, and Shenazar, Iecamiah, Hoshama, and Nedabiah. ¹⁹ And the sonnes of Pedaiah were Zerubbabel, and Shimei: and the sonnes of Zerubbabel were Meshullam, and Hananiah, and Shelomith their sister,

¹ These also are the sonnes of the prouince, that went vp out of the captiuitie (whome Nebuchadnezzar King of Babel had caried away vnto Babel) and returned to Ierusalem, and to Iudah, euery one vnto his citie, ² Which came with Zerubbabel, to wit, Ieshua, Nehemiah, Seraiah, Reelaiah, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mispar, Biguai, Rehum, Baanah. The number of the men of the people of Israel was,

⁸ And in the seconde yeere of their comming vnto the house of God in Ierusalem in the second moneth began Zerubbabel the sonne of Shealtiel, and Ieshua the sonne of Iozadak, and the remnant of their brethren the Priests and the Leuites, and all they that were come out of the captiuitie vnto Ierusalem, and appointed the Leuites from twentie yeere olde and aboue, to set forwarde the worke of the house of the Lord.

² And they came to Zerubbabel, and to the chiefe fathers, and sayd vnto them, We wil builde with you: for we seeke the Lord your God as ye do, and we haue sacrificed vnto him since the time of Esar Haddon king of Asshur, which brought vs vp hither.

² Then Zerubbabel the sonne of Shealtiel, and Ieshua the sonne of Iozadak arose, and began to builde the house of God at Ierusalem, and with them were the Prophetes of God, which helped them.

⁷ They which came with Zerubbabel, Ieshua, Nehemiah, Azariah, Raamiah, Nahamani, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mispereth, Biguai, Nehum, Baanah. This is the nomber of the men of the people of Israel.

² Seraiah, Azariah, Ieremiah, ³ Pashur, Amariah, Malchiah, ⁴ Hattush, Shebaniah, Malluch, ⁵ Harim, Merimoth, Obadiah, ⁶ Daniel, Ginnethon, Baruch, ⁷ Meshullam, Abiiah, Miamin, ⁸ Maaziah, Bilgai, Shemaiah: these are the Priestes.

¹⁰ And Ieshua begate Ioiakim: Ioiakim also begate Eliashib, and Eliashib begate Ioiada.

¹² And in the daies of Ioiakim were these, the chiefe fathers of the Priests: vnder Seraiah was Meraiah, vnder Ieremiah, Hananiah, ¹³ Vnder Ezra, Meshullam, vnder Amariah, Iehohanan, ¹⁴ Vnder Melicu, Ionathan, vnder Shebaniah, Ioseph, ¹⁵ Vnder Harim, Adna, vnder Maraioth, Helkai, ¹⁶ Vnder Iddo, Zechariah, vnder Ginnithon, Meshullam, ¹⁷ Vnder Abiiah, Zichri, vnder Miniamin, and vnder Moadiah, Piltai, ¹⁸ Vnder Bilgah, Shammua, vnder Shemaiah, Iehonathan, ¹⁹ Vnder Ioiarib, Mattenai, vnder Iedaiah, Vzzi, ²⁰ Vnder Sallai, Kallai, vnder Amok, Eber, ²¹ Vnder Hilkiah, Hashabiah, vnder Iedaiah, Nethaneel.

¹ In the second yeere of King Darius, in the sixt moneth, the first day of the moneth, came ye worde of the Lord (by the ministery of the Prophet Haggai) vnto Zerubbabel the sonne of Shealtiel, a prince of Iudah, and to Iehoshua the sonne of Iehozadak the hie Priest, saying,

¹² When Zerubbabel the sonne of Shealtiel, and Iehoshua the sonne of Iehozadak the hie Priest with all the remnant of the people, heard the voyce of the Lord their God, and the wordes of the Prophet Haggai (as the Lord their God had sent him) then the people did feare before the Lord.

¹⁴ And the Lord stirred vp the spirite of Zerubbabel, the sonne of Shealtiel a prince of Iudah, and the spirit of Iehoshua the sonne of Iehozadak the hie Priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people, and they came, and did the worke in the House of the Lord of hostes their God.

² In the seuenth moneth, in the one and twentieth day of the moneth, came the worde of the Lord by the ministerie of the Prophet Haggai, saying,

²¹ And againe the worde of the Lord came vnto Haggai in the foure and twentieth day of the moneth, saying, ²² Speake to Zerubbabel the prince of Iudah, and say, I wil shake the heauens and the earth, ²³ And I will ouerthrowe the throne of kingdomes, and I wil destroy the strength of the kingdomes of the heathen, and I wil ouerthrowe the charets, and those that ride in them, and the horse and the riders shall come downe, euery one by the sword of his brother. [ (Haggai 2:24) In that day, saith the Lord of hostes, will I take thee, O Zerubbabel my seruant, the sonne of Shealtiel, sayth the Lord, and wil make thee as a signet: for I haue chosen thee, sayth the Lord of hostes. ]

¹ And he shewed mee Iehoshua the hie Priest, standing before the Angel of the Lord, and Satan stoode at his right hand to resist him. ² And the Lord said vnto Satan, The Lord reprooue thee, O Satan: euen the Lord that hath chosen Ierusalem, reprooue thee. Is not this a brand taken out of the fire? ³ Nowe Iehoshua was clothed with filthie garments, and stoode before the Angel. ⁴ And he answered and spake vnto those that stoode before him, saying, Take away the filthie garments from him. And vnto him hee saide, Behold, I haue caused thine iniquitie to depart from thee, and I wil clothe thee with change of raiment. ⁵ And I saide, Let them set a faire diademe vpon his head. So they set a faire diademe vpon his head, and clothed him with garments, and the Angel of the Lord stoode by. ⁶ And the Angel of the Lord testified vnto Iehoshua, saying, ⁷ Thus saith the Lord of hostes, If thou wilt walke in my wayes, and keepe my watch, thou shalt also iudge mine House, and shalt also keepe my courtes, and I will giue thee place among these that stand by. ⁸ Heare now, O Iehoshua the hie Priest, thou and thy fellowes that sit before thee: for they are monstruous persons: but behold, I wil bring forth the Branche my seruant. ⁹ For loe, the stone that I haue layd before Iehoshua: vpon one stone shalbe seuen eyes: beholde, I will cut out the grauing thereof, saith the Lord of hostes, and I will take away the iniquitie of this land in one day.

⁶ Then he answered and spake vnto me, saying, This is the word of the Lord vnto Zerubbabel, saying, Neither by an armie nor strength, but by my Spirit, saith the Lord of hostes. ⁷ Who art thou, O great mountaine, before Zerubbabel? thou shalt be a plaine, and he shall bring foorth the head stone thereof, with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace vnto it. ⁸ Moreouer, the word of the Lord came vnto me, saying, ⁹ The handes of Zerubbabel haue layde the foundation of this house: his handes shall also finish it, and thou shalt knowe that the Lord of hostes hath sent me vnto you. ¹⁰ For who hath despised the day of the small thinges? but they shall reioyce, and shall see the stone of tinne in the hand of Zerubbabel: these seuen are the eyes of the Lord, which go thorow the whole world.

¹¹ Take euen siluer, and golde, and make crownes, and set them vpon the head of Iehoshua, the sonne of Iehozadak the hie Priest,

¹² And after they were caried away into Babylon, Iechonias begate Salathiel. And Salathiel begate Zorobabel. ¹³ And Zorobabel begate Abiud. And Abiud begate Eliacim. And Eliacim begate Azor.
