Tobit 13
Clementine_Vulgate(i)
11 Jerusalem civitas Dei, castigavit te Dominus in operibus manuum tuarum.
19 Anima mea, benedic Dominum, quoniam liberavit Jerusalem civitatem suam a cunctis tribulationibus ejus Dominus Deus noster.
Amen.]

1 Then Tobit wrote a prayer of reioycing, and sayd, Blessed be God that liueth for euer, and blessed be his kingdome.
2 For he doeth scourge, and hath pitie: he leadeth to hell, and bringeth vp, neither is there any that can auoyde his hand.
3 Cofesse him before the Gentiles, ye children of Israel: for he hath scattered you among them.
4 There declare his greatnesse, and extoll him before all the liuing: for he is our Lord & our God and our Father for euer.
5 He hath scourged vs for our iniquities, and will haue mercie againe, and wil gather vs out of all nations, among whome we are scattered.
6 If you turne to him with your whole heart, and with your whole minde, & deale vprightly before him, then will he turne vnto you, and will not hide his face from you, but ye shal see what he will doe with you: therefore confesse him with your whole mouth, & praise the Lord of righteousnes, & extoll the euerlasting King. I wil cofesse him in the land of my captiuitie, and will declare his power, & greatnes to a sinfull nation. O ye sinners, turne and do iustice before him: who can tell if he wil receiue you to mercy, and haue pitie on you?
7 I will extoll my God, and my soule shall prayse the King of heauen, and shall reioyce in his greatnesse.
8 Let all men speake, and let all praise him for his righteousnes.
9 O Ierusalem the holy citie, he will scourge thee for thy childrens works, but he will haue pitie againe on the sonnes of righteous men.
10 Giue prayse to the Lord duely, and praise the euerlasting King, that his tabernacle may be buylded in thee againe with ioy: and let him make ioyfull there in thee those that are captiues, and loue in thee for euer those that be miserable.
11 Many nations shall come from farre to the Name of the Lord God, with gifts in their handes, euen giftes to the King of heauen: all generations shal praise thee, and giue signes of ioy.
12 Cursed are al they, which haue thee: but blessed are they for euer which loue thee.
13 Reioyce, and be glad for the children of the iust: for they shalbe gathered, and shall blesse the Lord of the iust.
14 Blessed are they which loue thee: for they shall reioyce in thy peace. Blessed are they which haue bene sorowfull for all thy scourges: for they shal reioyce for thee, when they shal see all thy glorie, and shal reioyce for euer.
15 Let my soule blesse God the great King.
16 For Ierusalem shalbe built vp with sapphires, & emeraudes, and thy walles with precious stones, and thy towers, & thy bulwarkes with pure golde.
17 And the streetes of Ierusalem shall be paued with berall, & carbuncle, and stones of Ophir.
18 And all her streetes shal say, Halleluiah, and they shall prayse him, saying, Blessed be God which hath extolled it for euer.

1 Then olde Tobias opened his mouth & praysed the Lorde, & sayde: Great art thou O lord for euermore, and thy kingdome world with out end.
2 For thou scourgest and healest, thou leadest vnto hell & bringest out againe: and there is none that may escape thyne hande.
3 O geue thankes vnto the Lorde ye children of Israel, and prayse him in the sight of the heathen:
4 For among the heathen which knowe him not hath he scattered you, to the intent that ye should shew forth his marueilous workes, and cause them for to knowe that there is none other God almightie but he.
5 He hath chastened vs for our misdeedes, & for his owne mercie sake shall he saue vs.
6 Consider then how he hath dealt with you, and prayse him with feare & dread: and magnifie the euerlasting king in your workes.
7 I wyll prayse him euen in the lande of my captiuitie: for he hath shewed his maiestie vnto a sinfull people.
8 Turne you therfore O ye sinners, and do righteousnesse before God, and be ye sure that he wyll shew his mercy vpon you.
9 As for me and my soule, we wyll reioyce in God.
10 O prayse the Lorde all ye his chosen: hold the dayes of gladnesse, & be thankefull vnto him.
11 O Hierusalem thou citie of God, the lorde hath punished thee for the workes of thyne owne handes.
12 O prayse the Lord in thy good thinges, & geue thankes to the euerlasting God, that he may build vp his tabernacle againe in thee, that he may call againe vnto thee all such as be in captiuitie, and that thou mayest haue ioy for euermore.
13 With a faire light shalt thou shyne, and all the endes of the worlde shall honour thee.
14 The people shall come vnto thee from farre, they shall bring giftes, and worship the Lorde in thee, and thy land shal they haue for a sanctuary: for they shall call vpon the great name in thee.
15 Cursed shall they be that despise thee, and all that blaspheme thee shal be condempned: But blessed shall they be that builde thee vp.
16 As for thee thou shalt reioyce in thy children: for they all shalbe blessed, and gathered together vnto the Lorde.
17 Blessed are all they that loue thee, and that be glad of thy peace.
18 Prayse thou the Lorde, O my soule: for the Lorde our God hath deliuered his citie Hierusalem from all her troubles.
19 I wyll count my selfe happy, if my seede remayne to see the clearenes of Hierusalem.
20 The gates of Hierusalem shalbe builded with Saphir and Smaragde, and all the compasse of her walles with precious stones.
21 All her streates shalbe paued with white and fayre stone, and in all streates shall Halleluia be song.
22 Praysed be the Lorde which hath exalted her, that his kingdome may be vpon her for euermore, Amen.

1 And Tobias the elder opening his mouth, blessed the Lord, and said: Thou art great, O Lord, for ever, and thy kingdom is unto all ages:
2 For thou scourgest, and thou savest: thou leadest down to hell, and bringest up again: and there is none that can escape thy hand.
3 Give glory to the Lord, ye children of Israel, and praise him in the sight of the Gentiles:
4 Because he hath therefore scattered you among the Gentiles, who know not him, that you may declare his wonderful works, and make them know that there is no other almighty God besides him.
5 He hath chastised us for our iniquities: and he will save us for his own mercy.
6 See then what he hath done with us, and with fear and trembling give ye glory to him: and extol the eternal King of worlds in your works.
7 As for me, I will praise him in the land of my captivity: because he hath shewn his majesty toward a sinful nation.
8 Be converted therefore, ye sinners, and do justice before God, believing that he will shew his mercy to you.
9 And I and my soul will rejoice in him.
10 Bless ye the Lord, all his elect, keep days of joy, and give glory to him.
11 Jerusalem, city of God, the Lord hath chastised thee for the works of thy hands.
12 Give glory to the Lord for thy good things, and bless the God eternal, that he may rebuild his tabernacle in thee, and may call back all the captives to thee, and thou mayst rejoice for ever and ever.
13 Thou shalt shine with a glorious light: and all the ends of the earth shall worship thee.
14 Nations from afar shall come to thee: and shall bring gifts, and shall adore the Lord in thee, and shall esteem thy land as holy.
15 For they shall call upon the great name in thee.
16 They shall be cursed that shall despise thee: and they shall be condemned that shall blaspheme thee: and blessed shall they be that shall build thee up.
17 But thou shalt rejoice in thy children, because they shall all be blessed, and shall be gathered together to the Lord.
18 Blessed are all they that love thee, and that rejoice in thy peace.
19 My soul, bless thou the Lord, because the Lord our God hath delivered Jerusalem his city from all her troubles.
20 Happy shall I be if there shall remain of my seed, to see the glory of Jerusalem.
21 The gates of Jerusalem shall be built of sapphire, and of emerald, and all the walls thereof round about of precious stones.
22 All its streets shall be paved with white and clean stones: and Alleluia shall be sung in its streets.
23 Blessed be the Lord, who hath exalted it, and may he reign over it for ever and ever, Amen.

Therefore see what he will do with you, and confess him with your whole mouth, and praise the Lord of might, and extol the everlasting King. In the land of my captivity do I praise him, and declare his might and majesty to a sinful nation. 9 O Jerusalem, the holy city, he will scourge thee for thy children's works, and will have mercy again on the sons of the righteous.

13 Rejoice and be glad for the children of the just: for they shall be gathered together, and shall bless the Lord of the just.
14 O blessed are they which love thee, for they shall rejoice in thy peace: blessed are they which have been sorrowful for all thy scourges; for they shall rejoice for thee, when they have seen all thy glory, and shall be glad for ever.
15 Let my soul bless God the great King.
16 For Jerusalem shall be built up with sapphires and emeralds, and precious stone: thy walls and towers and battlements with pure gold.
17 And the streets of Jerusalem shall be paved with beryl and carbuncle and stones of Ophir.

1 And Tobit wrote a prayer for rejoicing, and said, Blessed is God that liveth for ever, And [blessed is] his kingdom.
2 For he scourgeth, and sheweth mercy: He leadeth down to the grave, and bringeth up again: And there is none that shall escape his hand.
3 Give thanks unto him before the Gentiles, ye children of Israel: For he hath scattered us among them.
4 There declare his greatness, And extol him before all the living: Because he is our Lord, And God is our Father for ever.
5 And he will scourge us for our iniquities, and will again shew mercy, And will gather us out of all the nations among whom ye are scattered.
6 If ye turn to him with your whole heart and with your whole soul, To do truth before him, Then will he turn unto you, And will not hide his face from you. And see what he will do with you, And give him thanks with your whole mouth, And bless the Lord of righteousness, And exalt the everlasting King. I in the land of my captivity give him thanks, And shew his strength and majesty to a nation of sinners. Turn, ye sinners, and do righteousness before him: Who can tell if he will accept you and have mercy on you?
7 I exalt my God, And my soul [doth exalt] the King of heaven, And it shall rejoice in his greatness.
8 Let all men speak, and let them give him thanks in Jerusalem.
9 O Jerusalem, the holy city, He will scourge thee for the works of thy sons, And will again have mercy on the sons of the righteous.
10 Give thanks to the Lord with goodness, And bless the everlasting King, That his tabernacle may be builded in thee again with joy, And that he may make glad in thee those that are captives, And love in thee for ever those that are miserable.
11 Many nations shall come from far to the name of the Lord God With gifts in their hands, even gifts to the King of heaven; Generations of generations shall praise thee, And sing songs of rejoicing.
12 Cursed are all they that hate thee; Blessed shall be all they that love thee for ever.
13 Rejoice and be exceeding glad for the sons of the righteous: For they shall be gathered together and shall bless the Lord of the righteous.
14 O blessed are they that love thee; They shall rejoice for thy peace: Blessed are all they that sorrowed for all thy scourges: Because they shall rejoice for thee, When they have seen all thy glory; And they shall be made glad for ever.
15 Let my soul bless God the great King.
16 For Jerusalem shall be builded with sapphires and emeralds and precious stones; Thy walls and towers and battlements with pure gold.
17 And the streets of Jerusalem shall be paved with beryl and carbuncle and stones of Ophir.
18 And all her streets shall say, Hallelujah, and give praise, Saying, Blessed is God, which hath exalted [thee] for ever.

1 And Tobit wrote a prayer for rejoicing, and said, “Blessed is God who lives forever! Blessed is his kingdom!
2 For he scourges, and shows mercy. He leads down to the grave, and brings up again. There is no one that will escape his hand.
3 Give thanks to him before the Gentiles, all you children of Israel! For he has scattered us among them.
4 Declare his greatness, there. Extol him before all the living; because he is our Lord, and God is our Father forever.
5 He will scourge us for our iniquities, and will again show mercy, and will gather us out of all the nations among whom you are all scattered.
6 If you turn to him with your whole heart and with your whole soul, to do truth before him, then he will turn to you, and won’t hide his face from you. See what he will do with you. Give him thanks with your whole mouth. Bless the Lord of righteousness. Exalt the everlasting King. I give him thanks in the land of my captivity, and show his strength and majesty to a nation of sinners. Turn, you sinners, and do righteousness before him. Who can tell if he will accept you and have mercy on you?
7 I exalt my God. My soul exalts the King of heaven, and rejoices in his greatness.

10 Give thanks to the Lord with goodness, and bless the everlasting King, that his tabernacle may be built in you again with joy, and that he may make glad in you those who are captives, and love in you forever those who are miserable.
11 Many nations will come from afar to the name of the Lord God with gifts in their hands, even gifts to the King of heaven. Generations of generations will praise you, and sing songs of rejoicing.
12 All those who hate you are cursed. All those who love you forever will be blessed.
13 Rejoice and be exceedingly glad for the sons of the righteous; for they will be gathered together and will bless the Lord of the righteous.
14 Oh blessed are those who love you. They will rejoice for your peace. Blessed are all those who sorrowed for all your scourges; because they will rejoice for you when they have seen all your glory. They will be made glad forever.
15 Let my soul bless God the great King.

LXX2012(i)
1 Then Tobit wrote a prayer of rejoicing, and said, Blessed be God that lives for ever, and blessed be his kingdom.
2 For he does scourge, and has mercy: he leads down to hell, and brings up again: neither is there any that can avoid his hand.
3 Confess him before the Gentiles, you⌃ children of Israel: for he has scattered us among them.
4 There declare his greatness, and extol him before all the living: for he is our Lord, and he is the God our Father for ever.
5 And he will scourge us for our iniquities, and will have mercy again, and will gather us out of all nations, among whom he has scattered us.
6 If you⌃ turn to him with your whole heart, and with your whole mind, and deal uprightly before him, then will he turn to you, and will not hide his face from you. Therefore see what he will do with you, and confess him with your whole mouth, and praise the Lord of might, and extol the everlasting King. In the land of my captivity do I praise him, and declare his might and majesty to a sinful nation. O you⌃ sinners, turn and do justice before him: who can tell if he will accept you, and have mercy on you?
7 I will extol my God, and my soul shall praise the King of heaven, and shall rejoice in his greatness.
8 Let all men speak, and let all praise him for his righteousness.
9 O Jerusalem, the holy city, he will scourge you for your children's works, and will have mercy again on the sons of the righteous.
10 Give praise to the Lord, for he is good: and praise the everlasting King, that his tabernacle may be builded in you again with joy, and let him make joyful there in you those that are captives, and love in you for ever those that are miserable.
11 Many nations shall come from far to the name of the Lord God with gifts in their hands, even gifts to the King of heaven; all generations shall praise you with great joy.
12 Cursed are all they which hate you, and blessed shall all be which love you for ever.
13 Rejoice and be glad for the children of the just: for they shall be gathered together, and shall bless the Lord of the just.
14 O blessed are they which love you, for they shall rejoice in your peace: blessed are they which have been sorrowful for all your scourges; for they shall rejoice for you, when they have seen all your glory, and shall be glad for ever.
15 Let my soul bless God the great King.
16 For Jerusalem shall be built up with sapphires and emeralds, and precious stone: your walls and towers and battlements with pure gold.
17 And the streets of Jerusalem shall be paved with beryl and carbuncle and stones of Ophir.
18 And all her streets shall say, Alleluia; and they shall praise him, saying, Blessed be God, which has extolled it for ever.
