28 I say to you, among those born of women there is no one greater than John; but the least in the Kingdom of God is greater than he."
29 And all the people, having heard, and the tax-collectors, justified God, having been immersed with the immersion of John.
30 But the Pharisees and the lawyers rejected the counsel of God as to themselves, not having been immersed by him.
31 "To what, then, shall I liken the men of this generation? And to what are they like?
32 They are like children sitting in the marketplace, and calling one to another, who say, 'We piped to you, and ye did not dance; we wailed, and ye did not weep.'
33 For John, the Immerser, has come, neither eating bread, nor drinking wine; and ye say, 'He has a demon.'
34 The Son of Man has come, eating and drinking; and ye say, 'Behold, a gluttonous man and a wine-drinker, a Friend of tax-collectors and sinners!'
35 And Wisdom was justified by all her children."
