Luke 7:28-35

Murdock(i) 28 I say to you, that no prophet, among those born of women, was greater than John the Baptizer: and yet the little one in the kingdom of God, is greater than he. 29 And all the people that heard him, justified God, as they had been baptized with John's baptism. 30 But the Pharisees and Scribes rejected the good pleasure of God, against themselves; as they were not baptized by him. 31 To what, therefore, shall I compare this generation? and to what are they like? 32 They are like children, that sit in the market-place, and call to their fellows and say: We have piped to you, and ye did not dance; we have howled to you, and ye did not weep. 33 For John the Baptizer came, not eating bread, and not drinking wine; and ye say: He hath a demon. 34 The Son of man came, eating and drinking; and ye say: Behold, a gluttonous man, and a wine drinker, and one fond of publicans and sinners. 35 But wisdom is justified by all her children.
