Ephesians 5:1-6:24 Become ye, therefore, imitators of God, as beloved children;

Worrell⁽ⁱ⁾ ¹ Become ye, therefore, imitators of God, as beloved children; ² and walk in love, as Christ also loved you, and delivered Himself up for you, an offering and a sacrifice to God for an odor of sweet smell. ³ But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as becomes saints; ⁴ nor filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not becoming, but rather thanks-giving. ⁵ For this ye know, assuredly, that no fornicator, nor unclean person, nor covetous man (who is an idolater), has any inheritance in the Kingdom of Christ and God. ⁶ Let no one deceive you with empty words; for, because of these things, comes the wrath of God upon the sons of disobedience. ⁷ Do not, therefore, become partakers with them; ⁸ for ye were once darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord; walk as children of light ⁹ (for the fruit of the light is in all goodness and righteousness and truth), ¹⁰ proving what is well-pleasing to the Lord; ¹¹ and have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather even reprove them; ¹² for it is a shame even to speak of the things done by them in secret. ¹³ But all things, when reproved, are made manifest by the light; for all that makes manifest is light. ¹⁴ Wherefore, He saith: "Awake, you who are sleeping; and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine upon you!" ¹⁵ Look, therefore, carefully, how ye walk, not as unwise, but as wise, ¹⁶ buying up the opportunity, because the days are evil. ¹⁷ For this reason, be not foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. ¹⁸ And be not drunken with wine, in which is riot, but be filled with the Spirit; ¹⁹ speaking to yourselves in psalms, and hymns, and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; ²⁰ giving thanks always for all things, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to God, even the Father; ²¹ submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of Christ; ²² the wives, to their own husbands, as to the Lord; ²³ because a husband is head of the wife, as Christ also is Head of the assembly; Himself the Savior of the body. ²⁴ But, as the assembly is subject to Christ, so also let the women be to their husbands in everything. ²⁵ Husbands, love your wives, as Christ also loved the assembly, and delivered Himself up for it, ²⁶ that He might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of the water in the word, ²⁷ that He might present to Himself the assembly, glorious, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing, but that it may be holy and without blemish. ²⁸ So ought husbands also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself; ²⁹ for no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, as also Christ the assembly; ³⁰ because we are members of His body. ³¹ For this cause, will a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife, and the two shall be one flesh. ³² This mystery is great; but I am speaking of Christ and of the assembly. ³³ Nevertheless, do ye also, severally, each one, so love his own wife, as himself; and let the wife see that she fear her husband. ⁶ ¹ Children, obey your parents in the Lord; for this is right. ² "Honor your father and mother" (which, indeed, is the first commandment with a promise), ³ "that it may be well with you, and that you may live long on the earth." ⁴ And, fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and admonition of the Lord. ⁵ Servants, obey your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as to Christ; ⁶ not with eye-service, as men-pleasers, but as servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the soul, ⁷ with good-will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men; ⁸ knowing that whatsoever good thing each one does, this shall he receive from the Lord, whether bond or free. ⁹ And, masters, do the same thing to them, forbearing the threat; knowing that both their Master and yours is in Heaven, and there is no respect of persons with Him. ¹⁰ Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of His might. ¹¹ Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the Devil; ¹² because to us the struggle is not against blood and flesh, but against the principalities, against the authorities, against the world-rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. ¹³ On this account, take up the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day; and, having fully accomplished all, to stand. ¹⁴ Stand, therefore, having girded your loins about with truth, and having put on the breast-plate of righteousness, ¹⁵ and having shod your feet with the preparation of the Gospel of peace; ¹⁶ withal having taken up the shield of faith, with which ye will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one. ¹⁷ And receive the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: ¹⁸ with all prayer and supplication praying at every opportunity in the Spirit, and watching thereunto in all perseverance and supplication for all the saints; ¹⁹ and on my behalf that utterance may be given to me, in opening my mouth to make known with boldness the mystery of the Gospel, ²⁰ for which I am an ambassador in chains, that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak. ²¹ But, that ye also may know my affairs, what I am doing, Tychicus, the beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord, will make all things known to you; ²² whom I sent to you for this very purpose, that ye may know our affairs, and that he may encourage your hearts. ²³ Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ. ²⁴ Grace be with all who love our Lord Jesus Christ in incorruptness.
