Numbers 14:20-34

VIN(i) 20 the LORD said: "I forgive them, as you have asked. 21 But as I live, and my name liveth, and the glory of the Lord shall fill the whole earth; 22 For all the men having seen my glory and my signs which I did in Egypt and in the desert, and they will try me this ten times, they heard not to my voice. 23 they will not see the land that I swore by oath to their ancestors, and all those who despised me will not see it. 24 »My servant Caleb has a different attitude and has wholeheartedly followed me, I will bring him to the land he already explored. His descendants will possess it. 25 And the Amalekites and the Canaanites live in the valleys; tomorrow turn and set out for the desert by way of the Red Sea." 26 Then the LORD said to Moses and Aaron: 27 How long doth this wicked multitude murmur against me? I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel. 28 Say to them, 'Surely as I live,' declares the LORD, 'just as you spoke in my hearing, so I will do to you; 29 in this desert your corpses will fall, and all your counted ones, according to all your number, from twenty years old and above who grumbled against me. 30 none of you, shall enter into the land, as to which I uplifted my hand to give you an abode therein,—save Caleb son of Jephunneh, and Joshua, son of Nun: 31 But your little children, whom you said would be plunder, I will bring them, and they will know the land that you rejected. 32 But, your own dead bodies, shall fall in this desert; 33 "'Your children will be shepherds in the desert for forty years. They will suffer for your unfaithfulness until the last of your bodies lies dead in the desert. 34 "'You explored the land for forty days. So for forty years, one year for each day, you will suffer for your sins and know what it means for me to be against you.'
