VIN⁽ⁱ⁾ ⁶ "If your brother, your mother's son, or your son or daughter, or the wife you cherish, or your very best friend tries to secretly entice you, saying: 'Let us go and serve other gods, gods neither you nor your fathers have known, ⁷ Gods of the peoples round about you, near or far, from one end of the earth to the other; ⁸ neither will to him nor hearken to him; your eye neither pity him nor spare him nor cover for him: ⁹ but you must surely kill him. Your hand shall be first on him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people. ¹⁰ Stone him to death, because he sought to lure you from the LORD your God who brought you from the land of Egypt, from the land of slavery. ¹¹ »All Israel will hear and be afraid, and will never again do such a wicked thing among you.
