5 But you say, 'Whoever says to his father or to his mother, Whatever benefit you get from me is now dedicated to God,
6 he shall not honor his father or his mother.' So you have nullified the command of God for the sake of your tradition.
7 You hypocrites, well did Isaiah prophesy of you when he said,
8 'This people honor me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
9 In vain they worship me while they teach as precepts the commands of men.' "
10 Calling the crowd to him he said to them, "Hear and understand.
11 Not what enters the mouth defiles a man, but what comes out of the mouth — that defiles a man."
12 Then his disciples came to him and said, "Do you know that the Pharisees were shocked when they heard what you said?"
13 He replied, "Every plant which my heavenly Father did not plant will be uprooted.
14 Beware of them. They are blind guides of the blind. If the blind leads the blind, both will fall into the ditch."
