Matthew 15:5-14

Thomson(i) 5 but you say, "Whoever shall say to his father or to his mother, Let that by which thou mightest be benefited by me, be dedicated, 6 must not honour either his father or his mother." Thus you have annulled the commandment of God from a regard to your doctrines. 7 Hypocrites! well did Esaias prophesy concerning you, saying, 8 This people draw near to me with their mouth; and with their lips they honour me, but their heart is far from me; 9 and, in vain do they worship me, teaching doctrines, the commands of men. 10 Then having called the multitude to him, he said to them, Hear and understand; 11 It is not that which goeth into the mouth which defileth the man; but it is that which cometh out of the mouth, which defileth the man. 12 Then his disciples coming to him said, Dost thou know that the Pharisees, when they heard that saying, were offended? 13 In reply to which he said, Every plant which my heavenly father hath not planted, is to be rooted up. 14 Let them alone. They are blind leaders of blind. Now if the blind lead the blind, they will both fall into a ditch.
