RKJNT(i)
Now of that which we have spoken, this is the sum: We have such a high priest, who is seated on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven;
A minister in the sanctuary, in the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, not man.
For every high priest is appointed to offer gifts and sacrifices: therefore it is necessary that this one also have something to offer.
Now if he were on earth, he would not be a priest, for there are priests who offer gifts according to the law.
They serve at a copy and shadow of the heavenly sanctuary. This is why, when Moses was about to make the tabernacle, he was warned by God, saying, See that you make all things according to the pattern shown to you on the mountain.
But now he has obtained a ministry that is as much superior to the old as the covenant of which he is the mediator is superior, for it was established upon better promises.
For if the first covenant had been faultless, then there would have been no occasion sought for a second.
For he finds fault with them, saying, Behold, the days will come, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:
Not like the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; for they did not continue in my covenant, and I turned away from them, says the Lord.
For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord; I will put my laws into their minds, and write them on their hearts: and I will be their God, and they shall be my people:
And no longer shall every man teach his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.
For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins I will remember no more.
When he says, A new covenant, he has made the first one obsolete. Now that which is obsolete and grows old is ready to vanish away.
