John 20:19-29

Murdock(i) 19 And on the evening of that first day of the week, the doors being shut where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came, and stood in the midst of them, and said to them: Peace be with you. 20 Having said this, he showed them his hands and his side. And the disciples rejoiced, when they saw our Lord. 21 And Jesus said to them; Peace be with you. As my Father hath sent me, I also send you. 22 And as he said these things, he breathed on them, and said to them: Receive ye the Holy Spirit. 23 If ye shall remit sins to any one, they will be remitted to him; and if ye shall retain those of any one, they will be retained. 24 But Thomas, who was called the Twin, one of the twelve, was not there with them, when Jesus came. 25 And the disciples said to him: We have seen our Lord. But he said to them: Unless I see in his hands the places of the nails, and put my fingers into them, and extend my hand to his side, I will not believe. 26 And after eight days, the disciples were again within, and Thomas with them: and Jesus came, while the doors were closed, stood in the midst, and said to them: Peace be with you. 27 And he said to Thomas: Reach hither thy finger, and look at my hands; and reach out thy hand and extend it to my side: and be not incredulous, but believing. 28 And Thomas answered, and said to him: My Lord, and my God! 29 Jesus said to him: Now, when thou hast seen me, thou believest: blessed are they, who have not seen me, yet believe.
