As the Father sent me so I send you. ²² And having said this he breathed on them, and saith to them, Receive a holy spirit. ²³ Whose sins soever you forgive, they are forgiven them, and whose sins soever you retain, they are retained. ²⁴ Now Thomas, one of the twelve, he who is called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came. ²⁵ The other disciples therefore said to him, We have seen the Lord. But he said to them, Unless I see in his hands the print of the nails; and put my finger into the print of the nails; and put this hand of mine into his side, I will not believe. ²⁶ And after eight days, his disciples were again within, and Thomas with them. Jesus cometh, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst and said, Peace be to you. ²⁷ Then he saith to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger and behold my hands! and reach thy hand and put it in to my side; and be not an unbeliever, but a believer. ²⁸ And Thomas answered and said to him, My Lord and my God. ²⁹ Jesus saith to him, Thomas, Because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed? Happy they who have not seen me and yet believe.
