John 20:19-29

Noyes(i) 19 When therefore it was evening on that day, which was the first day of the week, and the doors where the disciples were had been shut for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said to them, Peace be to you! 20 And having said this, he showed them his hands and his side. The disciples therefore were glad, when they saw the Lord. 21 Then he said to them again, Peace be to you! As the Father hath sent me, I also send you. 22 And having said this, he breathed on them, and saith to them, Receive the Holy Spirit. 23 Whosever sins ye remit, they are remitted to them; whosever ye retain, they are retained. 24 But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came. 25 The other disciples therefore said to him, We have seen the Lord. But he said to them, Unless I see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the place of the nails, and put my hand into his side, I shall not believe. 26 And after eight days the disciples were again within, and Thomas with them. Jesus cometh, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be to you! 27 Then he saith to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands, and reach forth thy hand, and put it into my side; and be not faithless, but believing. 28 Thomas answered and said to him, My Lord and my God! 29 Jesus saith to him, Because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed; blessed are they who have not seen, and yet have believed.
