66 When day broke, the elders of the people all met along with the high priests and scribes, and had him brought before their Sanhedrin. They said to him,
67 "Tell us if you are the Christ." He said to them, "You will not believe me if I tell you,
68 and you will not answer me when I put a question to you.
69 But after this the Son of man will be seated at God's right hand of power."
70 "Are you the Son of God then?" they all said. "Certainly," he replied, "I am."
71 So they said, "What more evidence do we need? We have heard it from his own lips."
23 1 Then the whole body of them rose and led him to Pilate.
2 They proceeded to accuse him, saying, "We have discovered this fellow perverting our nation, forbidding tribute being paid to Caesar, and alleging he is king messiah."
3 Pilate asked him, "Are you the king of the Jews?" He replied, "Certainly."
4 And Pilate said to the high priests and the crowds, "I cannot find anything criminal about him."
5 But they insisted, "He stirs up the people by teaching all over Judaea. He started from Galilee and now he is here."
