MSTC⁽ⁱ⁾ ¹² Take heed to thyself, that thou make no covenant with the inhabiters of the land whither thou goest lest it be cause of ruin among you. ¹³ But overthrow their altars and break their pillars, and cut down their groves, ¹⁴ for thou shalt worship no strange god. For the LORD is called jealous, because he is a jealous God: ¹⁵ lest, if thou make any covenant with the inhabiters of the land, when they go a whoring after their gods and do sacrifice unto their gods, they call thee and thou eat of their sacrifice; ¹⁶ And thou take of their daughters unto thy sons, and when their daughters go a whoring after their gods, ¹⁷ they make thy sons go a whoring after their gods also. Thou shalt make thee no gods of metal.
