Therefore when you shall see ‘the abomination of desolation,’ having been spoken of by the prophet Daniel, standing in the holy place—the one reading, let him understand—
then those in Judea, let them flee to the mountains;
the one on the housetop, do not let him come down to take anything out of his house;
and the one in the field, do not let him return back to take his cloak.
And woe to those having in womb, and to the ones nursing infants in those days!
But pray that your flight might not be in winter, nor on a Sabbath.
For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, and never shall be.
And unless those days had been shortened, no flesh would have been saved; but because of the elect, those days will be shortened.
Then if anyone says to you, ‘Behold, here is the Christ,’ or ‘Here,’ do not believe it.
For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will give great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect.
Behold, I have foretold you.
Therefore if they say to you, ‘Behold, He is in the wilderness,’ do not go forth; or ‘Behold, in the inner rooms,’ do not believe.
For just as the lightning comes forth from the east and shines as far as the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.
For wherever the carcass may be, there the vultures will be gathered.
