¹ Moses and the elders of Israel commanded the people, saying, "Keep all the commandment which I command you this day.

¹ Now, Israel, listen to the statutes and to the ordinances, which I teach you, to do them; that you may live, and go in and possess the land which the LORD, the God of your fathers, gives you. ² You shall not add to the word which I command you, neither shall you diminish from it, that you may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you. ³ Your eyes have seen what the LORD did because of Baal Peor; for all the men who followed Baal Peor, the LORD your God has destroyed them from the midst of you.

³² You shall observe to do all the statutes and the ordinances which I set before you this day.

¹⁶ This day the LORD your God commands you to do these statutes and ordinances: you shall therefore keep and do them with all your heart, and with all your soul.

²⁸ But he said, "On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God, and keep it."

¹⁴ You are my friends, if you do whatever I command you.

¹ Finally then, brothers, we ask and urge you in the Lord Jesus, that as you received from us how you ought to live and to please God, even as you are living, that you excel more and more. ² For you know what instructions we gave you through the Lord Jesus.

¹⁰ For whoever keeps the whole law, and yet stumbles in one point, he has become guilty of all.
