¹ Now it happened after the death of Moses the servant of the LORD, that the LORD spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' servant, saying, ² Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, you, and all this people, to the land which I give to them, even to the children of Israel. ³ I have given you every place that the sole of your foot will tread on, as I told Moses. ⁴ From the wilderness, and this Lebanon, even to the great river, the river Perath, all the land of the Hittites, and to the Great Sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your border. ⁵ No man will be able to stand before you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not fail you nor forsake you. ⁶ Be strong and of good courage; for you shall cause this people to inherit the land which I swore to their fathers to give them. ⁷ Only be strong and very courageous, to observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded you. Do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may have good success wherever you go. ⁸ This book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it: for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success. ⁹ Haven't I commanded you? Be strong and of good courage. Do not be afraid, neither be dismayed: for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go. ¹⁰ Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people, saying, ¹¹ "Pass through the midst of the camp, and command the people, saying, 'Prepare food; for within three days you are to pass over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land, which the LORD your God gives you to possess it.'" ¹² Joshua spoke to the Reubenites, and to the Gadites, and to the half-tribe of Manasseh, saying, ¹³ "Remember the word which Moses the servant of the LORD commanded you, saying, 'The LORD your God gives you rest, and will give you this land. ¹⁴ Your wives, your little ones, and your livestock, shall live in the land which Moses gave you beyond the Jordan; but you shall pass over before your brothers armed, all the mighty men of valor, and shall help them ¹⁵ until the LORD has given your brothers rest, as he has given you, and they have also possessed the land which the LORD your God gives them. Then you shall return to the land of your possession, and possess it, which Moses the servant of the LORD gave you beyond the Jordan toward the sunrise.'" ¹⁶ They answered Joshua, saying, "All that you have commanded us we will do, and wherever you send us we will go. ¹⁷ Just as we listened to Moses in all things, so will we listen to you. Only may the LORD your God be with you, as he was with Moses. ¹⁸ Whoever rebels against your commandment, and doesn't listen to your words in all that you command him, he shall be put to death. Only be strong and of good courage."

⁹ Moses said to Joshua, "Choose men for us, and go out, fight with Amalek. Tomorrow I will stand on the top of the hill with God's rod in my hand." ¹⁰ So Joshua did as Moses had told him, and fought with Amalek; and Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill. ¹¹ It happened, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed; and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed. ¹² But Moses' hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side. His hands were steady until sunset. ¹³ Joshua defeated Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword.

¹³ Moses rose up with Joshua, his servant, and Moses went up onto God's Mountain.

²⁸ Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of Moses, one of his chosen men, answered, "My lord Moses, forbid them."

⁷ My servant Moses is not so. He is faithful in all my house.

⁸ Of the tribe of Ephraim, Hoshea the son of Nun.

¹⁶ These are the names of the men who Moses sent to spy out the land. Moses called Hoshea the son of Nun Joshua.

³⁸ Joshua the son of Nun, who stands before you, he shall go in there. Encourage him, because he will cause Israel to inherit it.

³ The LORD your God, he will go over before you; he will destroy these nations from before you, and you shall dispossess them. Joshua shall go over before you, as the LORD has spoken.

²³ He commissioned Joshua the son of Nun, and said, "Be strong and courageous; for you shall bring the children of Israel into the land which I swore to them: and I will be with you."

¹ This is the blessing, with which Moses the man of God blessed the children of Israel before his death.

⁵ So Moses the servant of the LORD died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of the LORD.

⁹ Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom; for Moses had laid his hands on him: and the children of Israel listened to him, and did as the LORD commanded Moses.

⁶ Moses the servant of the LORD and the children of Israel struck them. Moses the servant of the LORD gave it for a possession to the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh.

¹⁶ You shall anoint Jehu the son of Nimshi to be king over Israel; and you shall anoint Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abel Meholah to be prophet in your place.

¹¹ But Jehoshaphat said, "Isn't there here a prophet of the LORD, that we may inquire of the LORD by him?" One of the king of Israel's servants answered, "Elisha the son of Shaphat is here, who poured water on the hands of Elijah."

²⁷ When she came to the man of God to the hill, she caught hold of his feet. Gehazi came near to thrust her away; but the man of God said, "Leave her alone; for her soul is troubled within her; and the LORD has hidden it from me, and has not told me." ²⁸ Then she said, "Did I ask a son from my lord? Did I not say, Do not deceive me?" ²⁹ Then he said to Gehazi, "Tuck your cloak into your belt, take my staff in your hand, and go your way. If you meet any man, do not greet him; and if anyone greets you, do not answer him again. Then lay my staff on the face of the child."

²⁵ But he went in, and stood before his master. Elisha said to him, "Where did you come from, Gehazi?" He said, "Your servant went nowhere." ²⁶ He said to him, "Did not my heart go with you, when the man turned from his chariot to meet you? Is it a time to receive money, and to receive garments, and olive groves and vineyards, and sheep and cattle, and male servants and female servants? ²⁷ Therefore the leprosy of Naaman will cling to you and to your descendants forever." He went out from his presence a leper, as white as snow.

²⁶ It will not be so among you, but whoever desires to become great among you must be your servant. ²⁷ And whoever desires to be first among you must be your slave,

¹⁰ He who is faithful in a very little is faithful also in much. He who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much.

⁴⁵ which also our fathers, in their turn, brought in with Joshua when they entered into the possession of the nations, whom God drove out before the face of our fathers, to the days of David,

³⁶ For David, after he had in his own generation served the counsel of God, fell asleep, and was placed with his fathers, and saw decay. ³⁷ But he whom God raised up saw no decay.

²⁸ But commission Joshua, and encourage him, and strengthen him; for he shall go over before this people, and he shall cause them to inherit the land which you shall see."

⁷ Moses called to Joshua, and said to him in the sight of all Israel, "Be strong and courageous: for you shall go with this people into the land which the LORD has sworn to their fathers to give them; and you shall cause them to inherit it.

¹ "Look, my servant I have chosen, my beloved in whom my soul delights. I have put my Spirit on him, and he will bring justice to the nations.

⁵ Moses indeed was faithful in all his house as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were afterward to be spoken, ⁶ but Christ is faithful as a Son over his house; whose house we are, if we hold fast our confidence and the boast of our hope.

²³ Many, indeed, have been made priests, because they are hindered from continuing by death. ²⁴ But he, because he lives forever, has his priesthood unchangeable.

²⁴ Every place whereon the sole of your foot shall tread shall be yours: from the wilderness, and Lebanon, from the river, the river Perath, even to the western sea shall be your border.

⁹ Moses swore on that day, saying, 'Surely the land where you walked shall be an inheritance to you and to your children forever, because you have wholly followed the LORD my God.'

² in hope of everlasting life, which God, who cannot lie, promised before time began;

¹⁸ On that day God made a covenant with Abram, saying, "To your descendants I have given this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the river Perath: ¹⁹ the Kenites, the Kenizzites, the Kadmonites, ²⁰ the Hethites, the Perizzites, the Rephaim, ²¹ the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Hivites, the Girgashites, and the Jebusites."

³¹ I will set your border from the Sea at the End even to the sea of the Philistines, and from the wilderness to the River; for I will deliver the inhabitants of the land into your hand, and you shall drive them out before you.

² "Command the children of Israel, and tell them, 'When you come into the land of Canaan (this is the land that shall fall to you for an inheritance, even the land of Canaan according to its borders), ³ then your south quarter shall be from the wilderness of Zin along by the side of Edom, and your south border shall be from the end of the Salt Sea eastward; ⁴ and your border shall turn about southward of the ascent of Akrabbim, and pass along to Zin; and the goings out of it shall be southward of Kadesh Barnea; and it shall go forth to Hazar Addar, and pass along to Azmon; ⁵ and the border shall turn about from Azmon to the Wadi of Egypt, and the goings out of it shall be at the sea. ⁶ "'For the western border, the Great Sea shall be a border to you; this shall be your west border. ⁷ "'This shall be your north border: from the Great Sea you shall mark out for you Mount Hor; ⁸ from Mount Hor you shall mark out to Lebo Hamath; and the goings out of the border shall be at Zedad; ⁹ and the border shall go forth to Ziphron, and the goings out of it shall be at Hazar Enan: this shall be your north border. ¹⁰ "'You shall mark out your east border from Hazar Enan to Shepham; ¹¹ and the border shall go down from Shepham to Riblah, on the east side of Ain; and the border shall go down, and shall reach to the side of the sea of Kinnereth eastward; ¹² and the border shall go down to the Jordan, and the goings out of it shall be at the Salt Sea. This shall be your land according to its borders around it.'" ¹³ Moses commanded the children of Israel, saying, "This is the land which you shall inherit by lot, which the LORD has commanded to give to the nine tribes, and to the half-tribe; ¹⁴ for the tribe of the people of Reuben according to their fathers' houses, and the tribe of the people of Gad according to their fathers' houses, have received, and the half-tribe of Manasseh have received, their inheritance: ¹⁵ the two tribes and the half-tribe have received their inheritance beyond the Jordan at Jericho eastward, toward the sunrise." ¹⁶ The LORD spoke to Moses, saying, ¹⁷ "These are the names of the men who shall divide the land to you for inheritance: Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun. ¹⁸ You shall take one prince of every tribe, to divide the land for inheritance.

⁷ turn, and take your journey, and go to the hill country of the Amorites, and to all the places near there, in the Arabah, in the hill country, and in the lowland, and in the Negev, and by the sea coast, the land of the Canaanites, and Lebanon, as far as the great river, the river Perath.

²⁵ Please let me go over and see the good land that is beyond the Jordan, that good hill country, and Lebanon."

⁹ and eastward he lived even to the entrance of the wilderness from the river Perath, because their livestock were multiplied in the land of Gilead.

³ David struck Hadadezer king of Zobah to Hamath, as he went to establish his dominion by the river Perath.

¹² And God spoke to Moses, saying, "Certainly I will be with you. This will be the token to you, that I have sent you: when you have brought forth the people out of Egypt, you shall serve God on this mountain."

²⁴ He will deliver their kings into your hand, and you shall make their name to perish from under the sky: no man shall be able to stand before you, until you have destroyed them.

⁴ for the LORD your God is he who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you."

⁶ Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid, nor be scared of them: for the LORD your God is he who is going with you; he will not leave you nor forsake you." ⁷ Moses called to Joshua, and said to him in the sight of all Israel, "Be strong and courageous: for you shall go with this people into the land which the LORD has sworn to their fathers to give them; and you shall cause them to inherit it. ⁸ The LORD, he it is who does go before you; he will be with you, he will not fail you, neither forsake you: do not be afraid, neither be dismayed."

⁹ Haven't I commanded you? Be strong and of good courage. Do not be afraid, neither be dismayed: for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.

¹⁷ Just as we listened to Moses in all things, so will we listen to you. Only may the LORD your God be with you, as he was with Moses.

⁷ The LORD said to Joshua, "Today I will begin to magnify you in the sight of all Israel, that they may know that as I was with Moses, so I will be with you.

²⁷ So the LORD was with Joshua; and his fame was in all the land.

¹¹ The LORD of hosts is with us. The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

¹⁰ Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. ¹¹ Look, all those who are incensed against you will be disappointed and confounded. Those who strive with you will be like nothing, and shall perish. ¹² You will seek them, and won't find them, even those who contend with you. Those who war against you will be as nothing, as a non-existent thing. ¹³ For I, the LORD your God, will hold your right hand, saying to you, 'Do not be afraid. I will help you.' ¹⁴ Do not be afraid, you worm Jacob, and you men of Israel. I will help you," says the LORD, "and your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel.

² When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned, and the flame will not scorch you. ³ For I am the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. I have given Egypt as your ransom, Ethiopia and Seba in your place. ⁴ Since you have been precious and honored in my sight, and I have loved you; therefore I will give people in your place, and nations instead of your life. ⁵ Do not be afraid; for I am with you. I will bring your descendants from the east, and gather you from the west.

²⁰ teaching them to obey all things that I commanded you. And look, I am with you every day, even to the end of the age."

⁹ The Lord said to Paul in the night by a vision, "Do not be afraid, but speak and do not be silent; ¹⁰ for I am with you, and no one will attack you to harm you, for I have many people in this city."

³¹ What then are we to say about these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

³⁷ No, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

¹⁷ But the Lord stood by me, and strengthened me, that through me the message might be fully proclaimed, and that all the non-Jewish people might hear; and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.

⁵ Be free from the love of money, content with such things as you have, for he has said, "I will never leave you or forsake you."

³ Sojourn in this land, and I will be with you, and will bless you. For to you, and to your descendants, I will give all these lands, and I will establish the oath which I swore to Abraham your father.

⁶ Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid, nor be scared of them: for the LORD your God is he who is going with you; he will not leave you nor forsake you." ⁷ Moses called to Joshua, and said to him in the sight of all Israel, "Be strong and courageous: for you shall go with this people into the land which the LORD has sworn to their fathers to give them; and you shall cause them to inherit it.

⁷ Only be strong and very courageous, to observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded you. Do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may have good success wherever you go.

⁹ Be strong, and behave like men, O you Philistines, that you not be servants to the Hebrews, as they have been to you. Strengthen yourselves like men, and fight."

² "I am going the way of all the earth. You be strong therefore, and show yourself a man;

¹³ Then you will prosper, if you observe to do the statutes and the ordinances which the LORD gave Moses concerning Israel. Be strong, and courageous. Do not be afraid, neither be dismayed.

¹⁰ Consider now, for the LORD has chosen you to build a house for him as a sanctuary. Be strong, and do it."

⁷ "Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid nor dismayed for the king of Assyria, nor for all the multitude who is with him; for there is a greater with us than with him. ⁸ With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the LORD our God to help us, and to fight our battles." The people rested themselves on the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.

¹⁴ Wait for the LORD. Be strong, and let your heart take courage. Yes, wait for the LORD.

³ Strengthen the weak hands, and make firm the feeble knees. ⁴ Tell those who have a fearful heart, "Be strong. Do not be afraid. Look, your God will come with vengeance, God's retribution. He will come and save you.

¹⁹ And he said, "Greatly loved man, do not be afraid, peace be to you; be strong, be strong." When he spoke to me, I was strengthened, and said, "Let my lord speak, for you have strengthened me."

⁴ Yet now be strong, Zerubbabel,' says the LORD. 'Be strong, Joshua, son of Jehozadak, the high priest. Be strong, all you people of the land,' says the LORD, 'and work, for I am with you,' says the LORD of hosts.

⁹ Thus says the LORD of hosts: "Let your hands be strong, you who hear in these days these words from the mouth of the prophets who were in the day that the foundation of the house of the LORD of hosts was laid, even the temple, that it might be built.

¹³ Watch. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong.

¹⁰ Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of his might.

¹ You therefore, my child, be strengthened in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.

²³ and he laid his hands on him, and commissioned him, as the LORD spoke by Moses.

³² You shall observe to do therefore as the LORD your God has commanded you: you shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left.

³² Whatever thing I command you, that you shall observe to do: you shall not add thereto, nor diminish from it.

¹⁴ and shall not turn aside from any of the words which I command you this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.

⁹ Keep therefore the words of this covenant, and do them, that you may prosper in all that you do.

⁸ This book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it: for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success.

¹⁵ As the LORD commanded Moses his servant, so Moses commanded Joshua. Joshua did so. He left nothing undone of all that the LORD commanded Moses.

³ and keep the instruction of the LORD your God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, his commandments, his ordinances, and his testimonies, according to that which is written in the law of Moses, that you may prosper in all that you do, and wherever you turn yourself.

²⁷ Do not turn to the right hand nor to the left. Remove your foot from evil.

²⁰ I walk in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of justice;

²⁹ Oh that there were such a heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children forever.

³² You shall observe to do therefore as the LORD your God has commanded you: you shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left.

⁶ These words, which I command you this day, shall be on your heart; ⁷ and you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up. ⁸ You shall bind them for a sign on your hand, and they shall be for symbols between your eyes. ⁹ You shall write them on the door posts of your house, and on your gates.

¹⁸ Therefore you shall lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul; and you shall bind them for a sign on your hand, and they shall be for symbols between your eyes. ¹⁹ You shall teach them your children, talking of them, when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up.

¹⁸ It shall be, when he sits on the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write him a copy of this law on a scroll, out of that which is before the priests the Levites: ¹⁹ and it shall be with him, and he shall read it all the days of his life; that he may learn to fear the LORD his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them;

¹⁴ But the word is very near to you; it is in your mouth and in your heart and in your hand, so that you can do it.

¹¹ when all Israel has come to appear before the LORD your God in the place which he shall choose, you shall read this law before all Israel in their hearing.

¹ Blessed is the one who doesn't follow the advice of the wicked, or take the path of sinners, or join in with scoffers. ² But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. ³ He will be like a tree planted by the streams of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also does not wither, and whatever he does shall prosper.

¹⁴ Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight always, LORD, my rock and my redeemer.

³⁰ The mouth of the righteous talks of wisdom. His tongue speaks justice. ³¹ The law of his God is in his heart. None of his steps shall slide.

¹⁰ I have not hidden your righteousness within my heart. I have declared your faithfulness and your salvation. I have not concealed your loving kindness and your truth from the great assembly.

¹¹ In my heart I have hidden your word, that I might not sin against you.

¹⁵ I will meditate on your precepts, and consider your ways.

⁴² So I will have an answer for him who reproaches me, for I trust in your word. ⁴³ Do not snatch the word of truth out of my mouth, for I put my hope in your ordinances.

⁹⁷ MEM. How I love your Law. It is my meditation all day.

⁹⁹ I have more understanding than all my teachers, for your testimonies are my meditation.

¹ My son, if you will receive my words, and store up my commandments within you; ² So as to turn your ear to wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding; ³ Yes, if you call out for discernment, and lift up your voice for understanding; ⁴ If you seek her as silver, and search for her as for hidden treasures: ⁵ then you will understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.

¹ My son, do not forget my teaching; but let your heart keep my commandments:

²¹ "As for me, this is my covenant with them," says the LORD. "My Spirit who is on you, and my words which I have put in your mouth, shall not depart out of your mouth, nor out of the mouth of your children, nor out of the mouth of your children's children," says the LORD, "from now on and forever."

²¹ Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.

²⁴ "Everyone therefore who hears these words of mine, and does them, will be compared to a wise man, who built his house on a rock.

³⁵ The good person out of his good treasure brings out good things, and the evil person out of his evil treasure brings out evil things.

²⁸ But he said, "On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God, and keep it."

¹⁷ If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.

²¹ The one who has my commandments and keeps them is the one who loves me. And the one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him, and will reveal myself to him."

²⁹ Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for building up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear.

¹⁶ Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your heart to God.

¹⁴ Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the elders. ¹⁵ Be diligent in these things. Give yourself wholly to them, that your progress may be revealed to all. ¹⁶ Pay attention to yourself, and to your teaching. Continue in these things, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you.

²² But be doers of the word, and not only hearers, deluding your own selves. ²³ For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like someone looking at his natural face in a mirror; ²⁴ for he sees himself, and goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of person he was. ²⁵ But he who looks into the perfect Law of freedom, and continues, not being a hearer who forgets, but a doer of the work, this person will be blessed in what he does.

¹⁴ Blessed are they who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter in by the gates into the city.

¹⁵ And look, I am with you, and will watch over you wherever you go, and will bring you again into this land. For I will not leave you, until I have done that which I have spoken of to you."

¹ When you go forth to battle against your enemies, and see horses, chariots, and a people more than you, you shall not be afraid of them; for the LORD your God is with you, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt.

²⁸ Assemble to me all the elders of your tribes, and your elders and your judges and your officers, that I may speak these words in their ears, and call heaven and earth to witness against them.

⁶ Be strong and of good courage; for you shall cause this people to inherit the land which I swore to their fathers to give them. ⁷ Only be strong and very courageous, to observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded you. Do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may have good success wherever you go.

¹⁴ The LORD looked at him, and said, "Go in this strength of yours and save Israel from the hand of Midian. Look, haven't I sent you?"

²⁸ And Absalom commanded his servants, saying, "Mark now, when Amnon's heart is merry with wine; and when I tell you, 'Strike Amnon,' then kill him. Do not be afraid. Haven't I commanded you? Be courageous, and be valiant."

¹ [By David.] The LORD is my light and my salvation. Whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life. Of whom shall I be afraid? ² When evildoers came at me to eat up my flesh, even my adversaries and my foes, they stumbled and fell.

⁷ The LORD of hosts is with us. The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

¹ But now thus says the LORD who created you, Jacob, and he who formed you, Israel: "Do not be afraid, for I have redeemed you. I have called you by your name. You are mine.

⁵ Do not be afraid; for I am with you. I will bring your descendants from the east, and gather you from the west.

⁷ But the LORD said to me, "Do not say, 'I am a child;' for to whoever I shall send you, you shall go, and whatever I shall command you, you shall speak. ⁸ Do not be afraid because of them; for I am with you to deliver you," says the LORD.

¹⁹ But Peter and John answered them, "Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you rather than to God, judge for yourselves,

¹¹ and be ready against the third day; for on the third day the LORD will come down in the sight of all the people on Mount Sinai.

¹ Hear, Israel: you are to pass over the Jordan this day, to go in to dispossess nations greater and mightier than yourself, cities great and fortified up to the sky,

³¹ For you are to pass over the Jordan to go in to possess the land which the LORD your God gives you, and you shall possess it, and dwell in it.

² It happened after three days, that the officers went through the midst of the camp;

⁵ "Turn back, and tell Hezekiah the prince of my people, 'Thus says the LORD, the God of David your father, "I have heard your prayer. I have seen your tears. Look, I will heal you. On the third day, you shall go up to the house of the LORD.

² After two days he will revive us. On the third day he will raise us up, and we will live before him.

²⁰ Moses said to them, "If you will do this thing, if you will arm yourselves to go before the LORD to the war, ²¹ and every armed man of you will pass over the Jordan before the LORD, until he has driven out his enemies from before him, ²² and the land is subdued before the LORD; then afterward you shall return, and be guiltless towards the LORD, and towards Israel; and this land shall be to you for a possession before the LORD.

²⁰ Moses said to them, "If you will do this thing, if you will arm yourselves to go before the LORD to the war, ²¹ and every armed man of you will pass over the Jordan before the LORD, until he has driven out his enemies from before him, ²² and the land is subdued before the LORD; then afterward you shall return, and be guiltless towards the LORD, and towards Israel; and this land shall be to you for a possession before the LORD. ²³ "But if you will not do so, look, you have sinned against the LORD; and be sure your sin will find you out. ²⁴ Build cities for your little ones, and folds for your sheep; and do that which has proceeded out of your mouth." ²⁵ The people of Gad and the people of Reuben spoke to Moses, saying, "Your servants will do as my lord commands. ²⁶ Our little ones, our wives, our flocks, and all our livestock, shall be there in the cities of Gilead; ²⁷ but your servants will pass over, every man who is armed for war, before the LORD to battle, as my lord says." ²⁸ So Moses commanded concerning them to Eleazar the priest, and to Joshua the son of Nun, and to the heads of the ancestral houses of the tribes of the children of Israel.

¹⁸ I commanded you at that time, saying, "The LORD your God has given you this land to possess it: you shall pass over armed before your brothers the children of Israel, all the men of valor. ¹⁹ But your wives, and your little ones, and your livestock, (I know that you have much livestock), shall live in your cities which I have given you, ²⁰ until the LORD gives rest to your brothers, as to you, and they also possess the land which the LORD your God gives them beyond the Jordan: then you shall return every man to his possession, which I have given you."

¹ Then Joshua called the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh, ² and said to them, "You have kept all that Moses the servant of the LORD commanded you, and have listened to my voice in all that I commanded you. ³ You have not left your brothers these many days to this day, but have performed the duty of the commandment of the LORD your God. ⁴ Now the LORD your God has given rest to your brothers, as he spoke to them. Therefore now return and go to your tents, to the land of your possession, which Moses the servant of the LORD gave you beyond the Jordan.

¹⁸ but God led the people around by the way of the wilderness by the Sea at the End; and the children of Israel went up from the land of Egypt prepared for battle.

⁸ The officers shall speak further to the people, and they shall say, "What man is there who is fearful and fainthearted? Let him go and return to his house, lest his brother's heart melt as his heart."

⁴ The woman was dressed in purple and scarlet, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the impurities of her sexual immorality.

¹⁷ but we ourselves will be ready armed to go before the children of Israel, until we have brought them to their place: and our little ones shall dwell in the fortified cities because of the inhabitants of the land. ¹⁸ We will not return to our houses, until the children of Israel have inherited every man his inheritance. ¹⁹ For we will not inherit with them on the other side of the Jordan, and forward; because our inheritance is fallen to us on this side of the Jordan eastward."

⁴ Now the LORD your God has given rest to your brothers, as he spoke to them. Therefore now return and go to your tents, to the land of your possession, which Moses the servant of the LORD gave you beyond the Jordan. ⁵ Only take diligent heed to do the commandment and the law which Moses the servant of the LORD commanded you, to love the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, to keep his commandments, to hold fast to him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul." ⁶ So Joshua blessed them, and sent them away; and they went to their tents. ⁷ Now to the one half-tribe of Manasseh Moses had given inheritance in Bashan; but to the other half gave Joshua among their brothers beyond the Jordan westward. Moreover when Joshua sent them away to their tents, he blessed them, ⁸ and spoke to them, saying, "Return with much wealth to your tents, with very much livestock, with silver, with gold, with bronze, with iron, and with very much clothing. Divide the spoil of your enemies with your brothers." ⁹ The descendants of Reuben and the descendants of Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh returned, and departed from the children of Israel out of Shiloh, which is in the land of Canaan, to go to the land of Gilead, to the land of their possession, which they owned, according to the commandment of the LORD by Moses.

²⁶ When one member suffers, all the members suffer with it. Or when one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.

⁵ does not behave itself inappropriately, does not seek its own way, is not irritable, does not keep a record of wrongs;

¹³ For you, brothers, were called for freedom. Only do not use your freedom for gain to the flesh, but through love be servants to one another.

² Bear one another's burdens, and so you will fulfill the law of Christ.

²¹ For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. ²² But if I live on in the flesh, this will bring fruit from my work; yet I do not make known what I will choose. ²³ But I am in a dilemma between the two, having the desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better. ²⁴ Yet, to remain in the flesh is more needful for your sake. ²⁵ And since I am persuaded of this, I know that I will remain and continue with all of you for your progress and joy in the faith, ²⁶ that your rejoicing may abound in Christ Jesus in me through my presence with you again.

⁴ each of you not just looking to his own things, but each of you also to the things of others.

²⁵ The people of Gad and the people of Reuben spoke to Moses, saying, "Your servants will do as my lord commands.

²⁷ Go near, and hear all that the LORD our God shall say to you, and tell us all that the LORD our God speaks to you; and we will hear it, and do it."

¹ Let every person be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those that exist are appointed by God. ² Therefore he who resists the authority, withstands the ordinance of God; and those who withstand will receive to themselves judgment. ³ For rulers are not a terror to the good work, but to the evil. Do you desire to have no fear of the authority? Do that which is good, and you will have praise from the same, ⁴ for he is a servant of God to you for good. But if you do that which is evil, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is a servant of God, an avenger for wrath to him who does evil. ⁵ Therefore you need to be in subjection, not only because of the wrath, but also for conscience' sake.

¹ Remind them to be in subjection to rulers and to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good work,

¹³ Subject yourselves to every human institution for the Lord's sake: whether to the king, as supreme; ¹⁴ or to governors, as sent by him for vengeance on evildoers and for praise to those who do well. ¹⁵ For this is the will of God, that by well-doing you should put to silence the ignorance of foolish people:

⁵ No man will be able to stand before you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not fail you nor forsake you.

¹³ God do so to Jonathan, and more also, should it please my father to do you evil, if I do not disclose it to you, and send you away, that you may go in peace. And may the LORD be with you, as he has been with my father.

³⁷ As the LORD has been with my lord the king, even so may he be with Solomon, and make his throne greater than the throne of my lord king David."

²⁰ David said to Solomon his son, "Be strong and courageous, and do it. Do not be afraid, nor be dismayed; for the LORD God, even my God, is with you. He will not leave you or forsake you, until all the work for the service of the house of the LORD is finished.

⁴ He will grant you your heart's desire, and fulfill all your plans.

⁹ Save, LORD. Let the King answer us when we call.

²⁵ Save us now, we beg you, LORD. LORD, we beg you, send prosperity now. ²⁶ Blessed is he who comes in the name of the LORD. We have blessed you out of the house of the LORD.

⁹ The crowds who went before him, and who followed kept shouting, "Hosanna to the son of David. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest."

¹ I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings, be made for all people: ² for kings and all who are in high places; that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence.

¹² The man who does presumptuously, in not listening to the priest who stands to minister there before the LORD your God, or to the judge, even that man shall die: and you shall put away the evil from Israel.

¹² And the people said to Samuel, "Who is it that said Saul should not reign over us? Bring those men so we may put them to death."

⁴ Arise; for the matter belongs to you, and we are with you. Be courageous, and do it."

¹ Why do the nations rage, and the peoples plot in vain? ² The kings of the earth take a stand, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his Anointed: ³ "Letʼs tear off their shackles, and throw off their ropes from us." ⁴ The one who sits in the heavens laughs. The LORD scoffs at them. ⁵ Then he will speak to them in his anger, and terrify them in his wrath: ⁶ "But I myself have installed my king on Zion, my holy mountain."

²⁷ But bring those enemies of mine who did not want me to reign over them here, and kill them before me.'"

²⁸ Anyone who disregards the Law of Moses dies without compassion on the word of two or three witnesses. ²⁹ How much worse punishment, do you think, will he be judged worthy of, who has trodden under foot the Son of God, and has counted the blood of the covenant with which he was sanctified an unholy thing, and has insulted the Spirit of grace?

²⁵ See that you do not refuse him who speaks. For if they did not escape when they refused him who warned on the earth, how much more will we not escape who turn away from him who warns from heaven,
