Nehemiah 9:27 Cross References - CLV

²⁷ and You give them into the hand of their adversaries, and they distress them, and in the time of their distress they cry unto You, and You, from the heavens, do hear, and, according to Your abundant mercies, do give to them saviours, and they save them out of the hand of their adversaries.

²⁹ Yet from there you will seek Yahweh your Elohim and find Him when you inquire for Him with all your heart and with all your soul. ³⁰ In your distress, when all these things find you in the latter days, then you will return to Yahweh your Elohim and hearken to His voice. ³¹ For Yahweh your Elohim is a compassionate El. He shall neither neglect you nor bring ruin on you, nor shall He forget the covenant of your fathers about which He had sworn to them.

¹⁶ Yahweh said to Moses:Behold, you are about to lie with your fathers. Yet this people will rise and prostitute after the elohim of the foreigners of the land where they are entering to be among them; and they will forsake Me and annul My covenant that I contracted with them. ¹⁷ My anger will grow hot against them on that day, and I will forsake them and conceal My face from them; then they will come to be devoured, and many evils and distresses will find them. Then they will say on that day:Is it not because our Elohim is not among us that these evils have found us? ¹⁸ Yet I shall conceal, yea conceal My face from them on that day on account of all the evil which they will have done, for they will have turned around to other elohim.

¹⁴ And the anger of Yahweh burns against Israel, and He gives them into the hand of spoilers, and they spoil them, and He sells them into the hand of their enemies round about, and they have not been able any more to stand before their enemies;" ¹⁵ in every [place] where they have gone out, the hand of Yahweh has been against them for evil, as Yahweh has spoken, and as Yahweh has sworn to them, and they are distressed--greatly. ¹⁶ And Yahweh raises up judges, and they save them from the hand of their spoilers;"

¹⁸ And when Yahweh raised up to them judges--then was Yahweh with the judge, and saved them out of the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge; for it repents Yahweh, because of their groaning from the presence of their oppressors, and of those thrusting them away.

⁸ And the anger of Yahweh burns against Israel, and He sells them into the hand of Chushan-Rishathaim king of Aram-Naharaim, and the sons of Israel serve Chushan-Rishathaim eight years;" ⁹ and the sons of Israel cry unto Yahweh, and Yahweh raises a saviour to the sons of Israel, and he saves them--Othniel son of Kenaz, Caleb's younger brother;" ¹⁰ and the Spirit of Yahweh is upon him, and he judges Israel, and goes out to battle, and Yahweh gives unto his hand Chushan-Rishathaim king of Aram, and strong is his hand against Chushan-Rishathaim;" ¹¹ and the land rests forty years. And Othniel son of Kenaz dies, ¹² and the sons of Israel add to do the evil thing in the eyes of Yahweh; and Yahweh strengthens Eglon king of Moab against Israel, because that they have done the evil thing in the eyes of Yahweh;" ¹³ and he gathers unto him the Bene-Ammon and Amalek, and goes and smites Israel, and they possess the city of palms;" ¹⁴ and the sons of Israel serve Eglon king of Moab eighteen years. ¹⁵ And the sons of Israel cry unto Yahweh, and Yahweh raises to them a saviour, Ehud son of Gera, a Benjamite (a man--shut of his right hand), and the sons of Israel send by his hand a present to Eglon king of Moab;" ¹⁶ and Ehud makes for himself a sword, and it has two mouths (a cubit [is] its length), and he girds it under his long robe on his right thigh;" ¹⁷ and he brings near the present to Eglon king of Moab, and Eglon [is] a very fat man. ¹⁸ And it comes to pass, when he has finished to bring near the present, that he sends away the people bearing the present, ¹⁹ and he himself has turned back from the graven images which [are] at Gilgal, and said, `A secret word I have unto you, O king;' and he said, `Hush!' and go out from him do all those standing by him. ²⁰ And Ehud has come unto him, and he is sitting in the upper chamber of the wall which he has for himself, and Ehud said, `A word of Elohim I have unto you;' and he rises from off the throne;" <sup>21</sup> and Ehud puts forth his left hand, and takes the sword from off his right thigh, and strikes it into his belly;" <sup>22</sup> and the shaft also goes in after the blade, and the fat shuts on the blade, that he has not drawn the sword out of his belly, and it goes out at the fundament. <sup>23</sup> And Ehud goes out at the porch, and shuts the doors of the upper chamber upon him, and has bolted [it];" <sup>24</sup> and he has gone out, and his servants have come in, and look, and lo, the doors of the upper chamber are bolted, and they say, `He is only covering his feet in the inner chamber of the wall.. ²⁵ And they stay till confounded, and lo, he is not opening the doors of the upper chamber, and they take the key, and open, and lo, their lord is fallen to the earth--dead. ²⁶ And Ehud escaped during their tarrying, and has passed by the images, and is escaped to Seirath. ²⁷ And it comes to pass, in his coming in, that he blows with a trumpet in the hill-country of Ephraim, and go down with him do the sons of Israel from the hill-country, and he before them;" ²⁸ and he said unto them, `Pursue after me, for Yahweh has given your enemies, the Moabites, into your hand;' and they go down after him, and capture the passages of the Jordan towards Moab, and have not permitted a man to pass over. ²⁹ And they smite Moab at that time, about ten thousand men, all robust, and every one a man of valor, and not a man has escaped, ³⁰ and Moab is humbled in that day under the hand of Israel; and the land rests eighty years.

⁶ And Israel is very weak from the presence of Midian, and the sons of Israel cry unto Yahweh. ⁷ And it comes to pass when the sons of Israel have cried unto Yahweh, concerning Midian, ⁸ that Yahweh sends a man, a prophet, unto the sons of Israel, and he said to them, `Thus said Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, I--I have brought you up out of Egypt, and I bring you out from a house of servants, ⁹ and I deliver you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of all your oppressors, and I cast them out from your presence, and I give to you their land, ¹⁰ and I say to you, I [am] Yahweh your Elohim, you do not fear the elohims of the Amorite in whose land you are dwelling:--and you have not hearkened to My voice..

¹⁵ And the sons of Israel say unto Yahweh, `We have sinned, do You to us according to all that is good in Your eyes; only deliver us, we pray You, this day.. ¹⁶ And they turn aside the elohims of the stranger out of their midst, and serve Yahweh, and His soul is grieved with the misery of Israel.

¹⁰ and they cry unto Yahweh, and say, We have sinned, because we have forsaken Yahweh, and serve the Baalim, and Ashtaroth, and now, deliver us out of the hand of our enemies, and we serve You. ¹¹ `And Yahweh sends Jerubbaal, and Bedan, and Jephthah, and Samuel, and delivers you out of the hand of your enemies round about, and you dwell confidently.

⁵ and Yahweh gives to Israel a saviour, and they go out from under the hand of Aram, and the sons of Israel dwell in their tents as heretofore;"

²⁷ and Yahweh has not spoken to blot out the name of Israel from under the heavens, and saves them by the hand of Jeroboam son of Joash.

¹⁷ And He causes to go up against them the king of the Chaldeans, and he slays their chosen ones by the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and has had no pity on young man and virgin, old man and very aged--the whole He has given into his hand.

⁴¹ He gave them into the hand of the nations So that those hating them ruled among them. ⁴² Their enemies oppressed them, And they were made to submit under their hand." ⁴³ Many times He rescued them, But they were rebellious in their counsel, And they were reduced lower in their depravity." ⁴⁴ Yet He saw their distress, On His hearing of their appeal, ⁴⁵ And, for them, He remembered His covenant, So that He was merciful according to His many benignities."

¹⁰ We do not hearken to the voice of Yahweh our Elohim, to go in His laws which He sets before us by the hand of His servants the prophets." ¹¹ All Israel--they trespass against Thy law to withdraw so as not to hearken to Thy voice. Hence pouring forth on us is the imprecation and the oath which is written in the law of Moses, the servant of Elohim; for we sin against Him." ¹² Hence He is setting up His words, which He speaks concerning us and concerning our judges who judge us, to bring on us this great evil which is not done under the entire heavens as it is done in Jerusalem." ¹³ According to that which is written in the law of Moses, all this evil comes on us; yet we do not beseech the face of Yahweh our Elohim, so as to turn back from our depravities and to be intelligent in all Thy truth." ¹⁴ Alert is Yahweh over the evil, and He is bringing it on us. Just is Yahweh our Elohim in all His doings which He does; yet we do not hearken to His voice."

²¹ And saviours shall come up in mount Zion, to judge mount Esau. And the kingdom shall become Yahweh's."
