Nehemiah 9:1 Cross References - CLV

¹ And in the twenty and fourth day of this month have the sons of Israel been gathered, with fasting, and with sackcloth, and earth upon them;"

³⁴ Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, From the fifteenth day of this seventh month is the celebration of booths seven days to Yahweh.

³⁹ On the fifteenth day of the seventh month after you have gathered the yield of the land, you shall celebrate the celebration of Yahweh for seven days. On the first day there is a cessation and on the eighth day a cessation.

⁶ And Joshua rends his garments, and falls on his face to the earth before the ark of Yahweh till the evening, he and the elders of Israel, and they cause dust to go up on their head.

²⁶ And all the sons of Israel go up, even all the people, and come in to Beth-El, and weep, and sit there before Yahweh, and fast on that day till the evening, and cause to ascend burnt-offerings and peace-offerings before Yahweh.

¹² And a man of Benjamin runs out of the ranks, and comes into Shiloh, on that day, and his long robes [are] rent, and earth on his head;"

² and it comes to pass, on the third day, that lo, a man has come in out of the camp from Saul, and his garments [are] rent, and earth on his head; and it comes to pass, in his coming in unto David, that he falls to the earth, and does obeisance.

¹⁰ And on the twenty and third day of the seventh month he has sent the people to their tents, rejoicing, and glad in heart, for the goodness that Yahweh has done to David, and to Solomon, and to Israel His people.

³ And Jehoshaphat fears, and sets his face to seek to Yahweh, and proclaims a fast over all Judah;"

²³ So we fasted and besought our Elohim for this, and He let Himself be entreated by us.

² And Ezra the priest brings the law before the assembly, both of men and women, and every one intelligent to hear, on the first day of the seventh month,

³ Also, in every place of the different provinces to which the king's order and his edict were attaining, there was great mourning among the Jews, with fasting and lamentation and wailing. Sackcloth and ashes became a berth for many.

¹⁶ Go, collect together all the Jews who are to be found in Susa, and fast on my behalf. Do not eat and do not drink for three days, night and day. I too with my maidens shall fast likewise. In this way I shall come in to the king, even though it is not according to the edict. And if I should perish, I shall perish.

¹² When they lifted their eyes from afar, they did not recognize him. Then they lifted their voice and lamented, while each one tore his robe, and they sprinkled soil toward the heavens on their heads.

¹² And my Lord, Yahweh of hosts, will call for lamentation in that day, and for wailing, and for baldness, and for girding on sackcloth;"

¹³ Gird sackcloth, and wail, priests! Howl, ministers of the altar! Come! Lodge in sackcloth, ministers of my Elohim. For the approach present and the libation are withheld from the house of your Elohim." ¹⁴ Hallow a fast! Proclaim a time of restraint! Gather, elders, all the dwellers of the land, to the house of Yahweh, your Elohim! And cry out to Yahweh."

¹⁵ Blow the trumpet in Zion! Hallow a fast! Proclaim a time of restraint! ¹⁶ Gather the people! Hallow the assembly! Convene the elders! Gather the unweaned children and the sucklings at the breasts! The bridegroom shall fare forth from his chamber, and the bride from her canopy!" ¹⁷ Between the portico and the altar shall the priests lament. The ministers of Yahweh then shall say, Commiserate, Yahweh, over Your people, and You must not give Your allotment to reproach, that the nations rule among them. Why shall they say among the peoples, Where is their Elohim?

⁵ Then the men of Nineveh are believing in Elohim. And they are calling a fast and are putting on sackcloths, from their greatest unto their small." ⁶ And the word is touching the king of Nineveh. And he is rising from his throne and is transferring his fur robe from him, and he is covering himself with sackcloth and is sitting on ashes." ⁷ And he is calling a convocation, and he is saying in Nineveh, By the decree of the king and his great ones, saying:Human and beast, herd and flock must not be tasting aught. They must not be grazing, and water they must not be drinking." ⁸ The human and the beast shall cover themselves with sackcloths. And they shall call with steadfastness to Elohim. And they shall turn back, each man, from his evil way and from the wrong which is in their palms."

² Now, at their ministering to the Lord and fasting, the holy spirit said, "Sever, by all means, to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them." ³ Then, fasting and praying and placing their hands on them, they dismiss them."
