Psalms 83

VIN(i) 1 God, do not keep silent. Do not keep silent, and do not be still, God. 2 For, behold, your enemies roar; they who hate you lift their head; 3 They conspire with cunning against your people. They plot against your cherished ones. 4 “Come,” they say, “let’s destroy them as a nation, that the name of Israel may be remembered no more.” 5 Indeed, they shrewdly planned together, forming an alliance against you 6 the tents of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; of Moab, and the Hagarites; 7 Gebal and Ammon and Amalek, Philistia with the dwellers of Tyre;" 8 Even Assyria joined them to strengthen the descendants of Lot. [Interlude] 9 Do to them as you did to Midian, as you did to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the river Kishon 10 who perished at Endor, and became as the dung of the earth. 11 Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb, yes, all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna, 12 who said, "Let us take possession of God's pasturelands." 13 My God, make them like tumbleweed, like chaff before the wind. 14 As a fire burneth a forest,—And as a flame setteth mountains ablaze, 15 so pursue them with your tempest, and terrify them with your storm. 16 Fill their faces with shame and they will seek Your name, O LORD. 17 Shame and terrify them eternally; yes, that they blush and destruct; 18 And let them know Your name is the LORD, that You alone are the Most High over all the earth.
