17 For this is what the LORD says: 'David will never be without a man sitting on the throne of the house of Israel,
18 nor shall the priests the Levites lack a man before Me to offer burnt offerings, and to kindle grain offerings, and to do sacrifice forever.
19 The word of the LORD came to Jeremiah:
20 "Thus says the LORD: 'If you could break my covenant with the day, and my covenant with the night, so that day and night would not come at their time,
21 Also my covenant with David my servant may be made void, that he should not have a son to reign upon his throne, and with the Levites and priests my ministers.
