Matthew 26:36-44

Matthew(i) 36 Then went Iesus with them into a place whiche is called Gethsemane, and sayde vnto the disciples: sit ye here whyle I go and praye yonder. 37 And he toke with hym Peter and the two sonnes of Zebede, and began to waxe sorowful, and to be in an agonye. 38 Then said Iesus vnto them: my soule is heauy euen to the death. Tary ye here & watche with me. 39 And he went a lytell aparte, and fell flat on hys face and prayed sayinge: O my father, yf it be possible, let thys cup passe from me: neuerthelesse not as I wyll, but as thou wilte. 40 And he came vnto the discyples, and founde them a slepe, & sayd to Peter: what, could ye not watche with me one houre: 41 watche and praye, that ye fall not into temptacion. The spirite is ready, & the fleshe is weake. 42 He wente awaye once more, & prayed, sayinge: O my father, yf thys cup can not passe awaye from me, but that I drinke of it, thy wyl be fulfylled. 43 And he came and founde them a slepe agayne. For theyr eyes were heauye. 44 And he lefte them, and went agayne and prayed the thyrde tyme, sayinge the same wordes.
