And He said to the disciples, Sit here, until going away, I shall pray there. ³⁷ And taking along Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, He began to grieve and to be deeply troubled. ³⁸ Then He said to them, My soul is deeply grieved, even unto death. Stay here and watch with Me. ³⁹ And going forward a little, He fell on His face, praying, and saying, My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; yet not as I will, but as You will . ⁴⁰ And He came to the disciples and found them sleeping. And He said to Peter, So! Were you not able to watch one hour with Me? ⁴¹ Watch and pray, that you do not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. ⁴² Again, going away a second time, He prayed, saying, My Father, if this cup cannot pass away from Me without My drinking it, let Your will be done. ⁴³ And coming, He again found them sleeping, for their eyes were heavy. ⁴⁴ And leaving them, going away again, He prayed a third time, saying the same word.
