Mark 9:14-29

Matthew(i) 14 And he came to hys disciples, & saw muche people about them, and the Scribes disputing with them. 15 And strayght waye all the people when they behelde hym, were amased, & ranne to hym, and saluted hym. 16 And he sayde vnto the Scribes: what dispute ye with them? 17 And one of the company aunswered & said: Master, I haue broughte my sonne vnto the which hath a domme spirite. 18 And whensoeuer he taketh hym, he teareth hym, and he fometh and gnasheth with hys tethe, & pyneth away. And I spake to thy disciples that they should caste him out, and they coulde not. 19 He aunswered him and sayd: O generation without fayth, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I suffer you? Brynge hym vnto me. 20 And they broughte hym vnto him. And assone as the spirite saw him, he tare him. And he fell doune on the grounde, walowing and fomynge. 21 And he axed his father: howe long is it ago, sence this hath happened him? And he sayde, of a chylde: 22 & ofte times casteth him into the fyre, and also into the water too destroye him. But if thou canste do anything, haue mercy on vs, and helpe vs. 23 And Iesus sayd vnto him: yea, if thou couldest beleue, al thinges are possible to him that beleueth. 24 And strayght way the father of the chylde cryed with teares saying: Lorde I beleue, helpe myne vnbelefe. 25 When Iesus sawe that the people came runnyng together vnto him, he rebuked the foule spirit, saying vnto him: Thou domme & deaf spirite, I charge the come out of him, & enter no more into him. 26 And the spirit cryed & rent him sore, and came out. And he was as one that had bene dead, in so much that many sayd, he is dead. 27 But Iesus caught his hande and lyft him vp: and he rose. 28 And when he was come into the house, his disciples axed him secretly why could not we cast him out? 29 And he sayed vnto them: this kynde can by no nother meanes come forth but by prayer and fastinge.
