Matthew(i)
21 And when the eyght daye was come, that the chylde shoulde be circuncysed, his name was called Iesus, which was named of the aungell before he was conceyued in the wombe.
22 And when the tyme of their puryfycacion (after the lawe of Moyses) was come, they brought him to Ierusalem, to presente hym to the Lorde
23 (as it is wryttem in the lawe of the Lorde: euerye male that fyrst openeth the mattrix, shall be called holye to the Lord)
24 and to offer (as it is sayde in the lawe of the Lorde) a payre of turtel doues or two yonge pygyons.
25 And beholde ther was a man in Hierusalem whose name was Symeon. And the same man was iuste and feared God, and longed for the consolacion of Israel and the holye ghost was in him.
26 And an aunswere was geuen him of the holye ghost, that he shoulde not se death, before he had sene the Lordes Christe.
27 And he came by inspiration into the tempell. And when the father and mother broughte in the childe Iesus, to do for him after the custome of the lawe,
