Matthew 22:15-22

MLV(i) 15 Then the Pharisees traveled away and took counsel on how they might ensnare him in his speech. 16 And they send their disciples to him, with the Herodians, saying, Teacher, we know that you are true and teach the way of God in truth, and do not care concerning anyone’s appearance; for you do not look at the countenance of men. 17 Therefore tell us, What do you think? Is it legal to give tribute to Caesar or not?
18 But Jesus, having known their wickedness, said, Why are you testing me, you hypocrites? 19 Show me the tribute coin. Now they brought to him a denarius. 20 And he says to them, Whose face is this image and inscription? 21 They say to him, Caesar’s. Then he says to them, Therefore give to Caesar, the things which are Caesar’s, and to God, the things which are God’s. 22 And having heard it, they marveled, and went away, leaving him.
