1 Peter

MLV(i) 1 Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the chosen who are travelers from the dispersion from Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia and Bithyna, 2 according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in the holiness of the Spirit, to obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: grace to you and may peace be multiplied.
3 The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ is gracious, who according to his much mercy has born us again into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 into an incorruptible, undefiled and unfading inheritance having been guarded in the heavens for you; 5 who are kept through faith in the power of God, into a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. 6 In which hope you are glad now for a few moments, if it is essential, you have been made sorrowful in various tests, 7 in order that the trial of your faith, ( being much more precious than gold, which perishes), even now being tested through fire, may be found for praise and honor and to glory in the revelation of Jesus Christ.
8 You love whom you have not seen; now you believe in whom you do not see; in both you are glad with unspeakable and glorified joy; 9 getting for yourselves the end of your faith, that is the salvation of your souls. 10 Concerning which salvation the prophets, who prophesied concerning the favor that would come to you, sought out and utterly searched out; 11 searching what time or what sort of time the Spirit of Christ in them was indicating, when testifying beforehand of the sufferings for Christ and the glories following after these things. 12 To whom it was revealed, that they were serving these things not to themselves, but to you; which things now have been reported to you through those who proclaimed the good-news to you in the Holy Spirit, when he was sent forth from heaven; into which things messengers desire to peer into.
13 Hence when you have girded up the loins of your mind, while being sober, hope completely upon the grace being brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; 14 like children of obedience not fashioning yourselves in your former lusts in the time of your ignorance; 15 but according to he who called you, who is holy, you yourselves also become holy in all your conduct; 16 because it has been written, ‘Become holy, because I am holy.’ 17 And if you call upon the Father, who impartially judges according to the work of each one, conduct yourselves in fear during the time of your foreign residency here; 18 knowing that you were redeemed from your futile conduct handed down from your forefathers not with corruptible things like with silver or with gold. 19 But like that of an unblemished and unstained lamb, you were redeemed by the precious blood of Christ, 20 who indeed, having been known beforehand, before the conception of the world, but was manifested in the last times because of you, 21 who believe through him in God. The God who raised him up from the dead and gave him glory; so-that your faith and hope might be in God. 22 Having purified your souls in the obedience to the truth through the Spirit toward non-pretended brotherly-love, intensely love*\'b0 one another from a clean heart; 23 having been born again, not out of corruptible seed, but from the incorruptible, through the word of God, which is living and remaining forever. 24 Because, ‘All flesh is like grass and all the glory of man is like the flower of grass. The grass dried up and the its flower fell away. 25 But the declaration of the Lord is abiding forever.’And this is the declaration of the good-news which was proclaimed to you.
