Judges 7:4-7 And the LORD said unto Gideon , The people are yet too many ; bring them down unto the water , and I will try them for thee there: and it shall be, that of whom I say unto thee, This shall go with thee, the same shall go with thee; and of whomsoever I say unto thee, This shall not go with thee, the same shall not go .

5 H3381 So he brought down [H8686] H5971 the people H4325 unto the water H3068 : and the LORD H559 said [H8799] H1439 unto Gideon H3952 , Every one that lappeth [H8799] H4325 of the water H3956 with his tongue H3611 , as a dog H3952 lappeth [H8799] H3322 , him shalt thou set [H8686] H3766 by himself; likewise every one that boweth down [H8799] H1290 upon his knees H8354 to drink [H8800] .

6 H4557 And the number H3952 of them that lapped [H8764] H3027 , putting their hand H6310 to their mouth H7969 , were three H3967 hundred H376 men H3499 : but all the rest H5971 of the people H3766 bowed down [H8804] H1290 upon their knees H8354 to drink [H8800] H4325 water.

7 H3068 And the LORD H559 said [H8799] H1439 unto Gideon H7969 , By the three H3967 hundred H376 men H3952 that lapped [H8764] H3467 will I save [H8686] H5414 you, and deliver [H8804] H4080 the Midianites H3027 into thine hand H5971 : and let all the other people H3212 go [H8799] H376 every man H4725 unto his place.

6 H1961 ויהי were H4557 מספר And the number H3952 המלקקים of them that lapped, H3027 בידם their hand H413 אל to H6310 פיהם their mouth, H7969 שׁלשׁ three H3967 מאות hundred H376 אישׁ men: H3605 וכל but all H3499 יתר the rest H5971 העם of the people H3766 כרעו bowed down H5921 על upon H1290 ברכיהם their knees H8354 לשׁתות to drink H4325 מים׃ water.

7 H559 ויאמר said H3068 יהוה And the LORD H413 אל unto H1439 גדעון Gideon, H7969 בשׁלשׁ By the three H3967 מאות hundred H376 האישׁ men H3952 המלקקים that lapped H3467 אושׁיע will I save H853 אתכם H5414 ונתתי you, and deliver H853 את H4080 מדין the Midianites H3027 בידך into thine hand: H3605 וכל and let all H5971 העם the people H1980 ילכו go H376 אישׁ every man H4725 למקמו׃ unto his place.
