Mark 13:9 "So as for you folks, continue looking to (or: after) yourselves, for people will repeatedly give you over unto sanhedrins (the ruling councils, or courts, in the Jewish culture of that time), as well as unto synagogues (local religious and cultural centers). There you folks will be repeatedly beaten and severely whipped (or: lashed). Also, you will continue being caused to make a stand upon the demand of governors (rulers) and kings, in consequence of involvement with Me, leading into a witness and testimony to, and evidence for, them.
