28 It was about eight days after Jesus said this that he took Peter, John, and James, and went up on the mountain to pray.
29 And as he was praying, the look of his face changed and his clothes turned dazzling white.
30 And two men were talking with him. They were Moses and Elijah,
31 and they appeared in glory and spoke of his departure which he was to go through with at Jerusalem.
32 Peter and his companions had been overcome by sleep, but waking up they saw his glorious appearance and the two men standing by him.
33 Just as they were parting from him, Peter said to Jesus, "Master, how good it is that we are here! Let us put up three huts, one for you and one for Moses and one for Elijah!" For he did not know what he was saying.
34 But as he said it, a cloud came and overshadowed them, and they were frightened as they passed under the cloud.
35 And from the cloud came a voice that said, "This is my Son, my Chosen! Listen to him!"
36 At the sound of the voice, they saw that Jesus was alone. And they kept silence, and said nothing about it to anyone at that time.
