1 A wise son - the discipline of a father; and a scorner hears not rebuke.
2 A man eats good by the fruit of his mouth; and the soul of the covert has violence.
3 He who guards his mouth guards his soul; he who spreads his lips has ruin.
4 The soul of the sloth desires and has naught; and the soul of the decisive fattens.
5 The just hate false words; and the wicked stink and blush.
6 Justness guards the integrious in the way; and wickedness perverts the sinner.
7 One enriches himself, yet has naught; one impoverishes himself, yet has great wealth.
8 The koper/atonement of the soul of a man are his riches; and the impoverished hear not rebuke.
9 The light of the just cheers; and the lamp of the wicked extinguishes.
10 Arrogance gives strife; and with the counseled is wisdom.
11 Wealth by vanity diminishes; and he who gathers by hand abounds.
12 Hope drawn out wearies the heart; and when desire comes, it is a tree of life.
13 Whoever disrespects the word is despoiled; and he who awes the misvah, is shalamed.
14 The torah of the wise is a fountain of life to turn aside from the snares of death.
15 Good comprehension gives charism; and the way of the covert is perennial.
16 All the subtle work with knowledge; and a fool spreads folly.
17 A wicked angel falls into evil; and a trustworthy ambassador is healing.
18 Poverty and abasement are to him who avoids discipline; and he who regards reproof is honored.
19 The desire that becomes is pleasant to the soul; and abhorrence to fools is to turn aside from evil.
20 He who walks with the wise, enwisens; and he who befriends fools, shouts.
21 Evil pursues sinners; and good is the shalam of the just.
22 The good have the sons of their sons to inherit; and the valuables of the sinner are treasured for the just.
23 Abundant food is the tillage of the impoverished; and is scraped away for want of judgment.
24 He who spares his scion hates his son; and he who loves him rises early and disciplines him.
25 The just eats to satisfy his soul; and the belly of the wicked lacks.
