THE YAH HUDIYM ACCUSED
And so be it, Sanballat and Tobi Yah and Geshem the Arabiy and the rest of our enemies hear I built the wall with no breach remaining therein - also until that time I had not stood the doors on the portals; 2 and Sanballat and Geshem send to me, saying, Come, congregate with us in the villages in the valley of Ono. - and they fabricate to work me evil. 3 And I send angels to them, saying, I work a great work, that I cannot descend: why cease the work - slacken it to descend to you? 4 - and they send me this word four times; and I return the same word. 5 And Sanballat sends his lad to me in like word a fifth time with an open epistle in his hand; 6 wherein is inscribed, It is heard among the goyim; and Gashmu says it, that you and the Yah Hudiym fabricate to rebel: so you build the wall - to be their sovereign - according to these words: 7 and you also stand prophets to call for you at Yeru Shalem, saying, There is a sovereign in Yah Hudah: and now the sovereign hears these words: come now, and we counsel together. 8 And I send to him, saying, There are no such words as you say but you contrive them from your own heart: 9 for they all awe us, saying, Their hands slacken from the work, that it is not worked: and now, my hands strengthen. 10 And I come to the house of Shema Yah the son of Dela Yah the son of Mehetab El who is restrained; and he says, Congregate us in the house of Elohim inside the manse and shut the doors of the manse: for they come to slaughter you; yes, in the night they come to slaughter you. 11 And I say, Such a man as I - flee? And who - who am I to go into the manse to live? I go not in. 12 And, behold, I recognize that Elohim sent him not; but that he words this prophecy against me: for Tobi Yah and Sanballat hired him 13 - a hireling to awe me - to work thus and sin and that they are for an evil name - to reproach me. 14 My Elohim, remember on Tobi Yah and Sanballat according to these their works; and on the prophetess Noad Yah and the rest of the prophets that they awe me. 15 And they shalam the wall in the twenty-fifth of Elul - in fifty-two days. 16 And so be it, all our enemies hear and all the goyim all around us see and they fall mightily in their own eyes: for they perceive that this work is worked of our Elohim. 17 Also in those days the nobles of Yah Hudah abound passing their epistles to Tobi Yah; and they of Tobi Yah come to them. 18 For many masters in Yah Hudah oath to him because he is the son in law of Shechan Yah the son of Arach; and his son Yah Hanan took the daughter of Meshullam the son of Berech Yah. 19 Also they say his good deeds at my face and bring my words to him. And Tobi Yah sends epistles so that I awe.
