Hypocrites! For outwardly you purify the cup and the platter; but inwardly they are full of plunder and unrestraint. ²⁶ Blind Pharisee! First purify the inward cup and platter, so that it also becomes purified outwardly. ²⁷ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees! Hypocrites! For you are likened to whitewashed tombs which outwardly indeed manifest beauty but inwardly are full of dead bones and of all impurity. ²⁸ Even thus indeed outwardly you also manifest as just unto humanity, but inwardly you are full of hypocrisy and torah violations. ²⁹ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees!
