A MISVAH FOR THE PRIESTS
And now, to you O priests, this misvah. 2 If you hear not and if you set not to heart to give honor to my name, says Yah Veh Sabaoth, I send a curse on you and I curse your blessings: yes, I also curse, because you set it not to heart. 3 Behold, I rebuke your seed and winnow dung on your faces - the dung of your celebrations; to bear you away with it. 4 And you know I send this misvah to you, so that my covenant becomes with Levi, says Yah Veh Sabaoth. 5 My covenant with him becomes life and shalom; and I give them to him for the awesomeness with which he awes me, and because he terrifies at the face of my name. 6 The torah of truth being in his mouth, and no perversity found in his lips: he walks with me in shalom and straightness and turns many away from iniquity. 7 For the lips of the priest guard knowledge and they seek the torah at his mouth: for he is the angel of Yah Veh Sabaoth. 8 And you turn aside from the way; you falter many at the torah; you ruin the covenant of Levi; says Yah Veh Sabaoth. 9 So I also give you despised and lowly in front of all the people because according to your mouth you guard not my ways, and lift faces against the torah. 10 Have we not all one father? Has not one El created us? Why deal we covertly, every man against his brother, by profaning the covenant of our fathers? 11 Yah Hudah deals covertly, and works an abhorrence in Yisra El and in Yeru Shalem; for Yah Hudah profanes the holiness of Yah Veh which he loved, and married the daughter of a strange el. 12 Yah Veh cuts off the man who works this - he who wakens and he who answers from the tents of Yaaqov; and he who brings near an offering to Yah Veh Sabaoth. 13 And secondly, you do this: you cover the sacrifice altar of Yah Veh with tears, with weeping and with shrieking; because there is no more facing the offering or taking it with pleasure at your hand. 14 And you say, Why? Because Yah Veh witnesses between you and between the woman of your youth against whom you dealt covertly: yet is she your companion and the woman of your covenant. 15 And worked he not one? Yet he has the spirit of survival. And why one? To seek a seed of Elohim. Guard your spirit that no one deal covertly against the woman of his youth. 16 For Yah Veh Elohim of Yisra El says that he hates sending away: for one covers violence with his robe, says Yah Veh Sabaoth: guard your spirit, that you not deal covertly. 17 You belabor Yah Veh with your words: yet you say, Wherein belabor we him? By saying, Every one who works evil is good in the eyes of Yah Veh, and he delights in them! - or, Where is the Elohim of judgment?
