Mark 12:1-12

Anderson(i) 1 And ho began to speak to them in parables: A man planted a vineyard, and set a hedge around it, and digged a wine-press, and built a tower, and let it out to vine-dressers, and went into another country. 2 And at the proper time, he sent a servant to the vine-dressers, that he might receive from the vine-dressers of the fruit of the vineyard. 3 And they took him and scourged him, and sent him away without any thing. 4 And again he sent to them another servant; and at him they threw stones, and wounded him in the head, and sent him away shamefully treated. 5 And again he sent another; and him they killed. And he sent many others, some of whom they scourged, and some they killed. 6 Therefore, having yet one son, his beloved, he sent him also to them last, saying, They will reverence my son. 7 But those vine-dressers said one to another, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance will be ours. 8 And they took him, and killed him, and threw him out of the vineyard. 9 What, then, will the owner of the vineyard do? He will come and destroy those vine-dressers, and give his vineyard to others. 10 Have you not read this scripture: The stone which the builders rejected has become the head of the corner; 11 this was from the Lord, and it is wondrous in our eyes? 12 And they sought to take him, but feared the multitude; for they knew that he had spoken the parable against them; and they left him, and went away.
