¹ To the Director. A Davidic psalm.. God, whom I praise, do not be silent, ² Wicked and deceitful people have opened their mouths against me. They speak against me with lying tongues. ³ And, with words of hatred, have they surrounded me, and have made war upon me without cause: ⁴ In return for my love they accuse me, though I am in prayer. ⁵ And they repaid me evil for good: and hatred for my love. ⁶ Appoint the evil one to oppose him. Let an accuser stand at his right hand. ⁷ When he is judged, let him come out guilty, and let his prayer become as sin. ⁸ Let his days be few; and let another take his office of overseer. ⁹ May his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow. ¹⁰ may his children be wandering beggars, let them be sought from their ruins. ¹¹ Let the creditor seize all that he has. Let strangers plunder the fruit of his labor. ¹² May no one extend gracious love to him, or show favor to his fatherless children. ¹³ Let his descendants be cut off. Let their name be blotted out in the next generation. ¹⁴ Let the iniquity of his ancestors be remembered before the LORD, and let the sin of his mother not be blotted out. ¹⁵ let them be always before the LORD, so that He may cut off the memory of them from the earth; ¹⁶ For he didn't think to extend gracious love; he harassed to death the poor, the needy, and the broken hearted. ¹⁷ Yea, he loved cursing, and it came to him; he also had no pleasure in blessing, and it was far from him. ¹⁸ He put on cursing like a robe, and it has come into his body like water, and into his bones like oil. ¹⁹ May those curses wrap around him like a garment, or like a belt that one always wears. ²⁰ May this be the way the LORD repays my accuser, those who speak evil against me. ²¹ But You, Sovereign LORD, deal kindly with me for Your name's sake; because Your mercy is good, deliver me. ²² For I am poor and needy, and my heart is wounded within me. ²³ I fade away like an evening shadow. I am shaken off like a locust. ²⁴ My knees are weak through fasting, my body is thin and lacks fat. ²⁵ I am become also a taunt unto them; when they see me, they shake their head. ²⁶ Help me, O LORD my God; save me according to your loyal love, ²⁷ that they may know that this is your hand; that you, LORD, have done it. ²⁸ Let them curse, but you bless. When they arise, they will be put to shame, but your servant will rejoice. ²⁹ May my accusers be clothed with shame and wrapped in their humiliation as with a robe. ³⁰ With my mouth I will greatly thank the Lord; and praise him in the midst of many: ³¹ for he stands at the right hand of the needy, to save him from those judging his life.

² The LORD is my strength and song. He has become my salvation. This is my God, and I will praise him; my father's God, and I will exalt him.

²¹ "He is your praise! He is your God! He performed for you those great and awesome things you saw with your own eyes.

¹ ([Psalm of David]) O LORD, I call to you. O my rock, do not turn a deaf ear to me. If you remain silent, I will be like those who go down to the pit (grave).

²² This you have seen, O LORD: keep not silence: O Lord, be not far from me. ²³ Wake up, and rise to my defense. Plead my case, O my God the LORD.

¹ God, do not keep silent. Do not keep silent, and do not be still, God.

²⁸ You are my God, and I will give thanks to you. You are my God, I will exalt you.

¹⁴ I have forever kept silence; I have been quiet and refrained Myself; I will groan like a woman in travail; I will pant and gasp at once.

¹⁴ Heal me, O LORD, and I will be healed! Save me and I will be saved! For you are my song of praise.

³ Absalom said to him, "Look, your matters are good and right; but there is no man deputized by the king to hear you." ⁴ And Absalom would say, Oh, that I were made judge in the land, that everyone who has any suit or cause might come unto me, and I would do him justice! ⁵ The man would approach Absalom and bow down before him. Then Absalom would reach out and hug and kiss him. ⁶ And Absalom acted this way to all Israel who came in to the king for judgment. And Absalom stole the heart of the men of Israel. ⁷ Now at the end of four years, Absalom said to the king, Let me go to Hebron and give effect to the oath which I made to the Lord: ⁸ "When I lived at Geshur in Syria (Aram), I promised the LORD that if he would take me back to Jerusalem, I would worship him in Hebron."

¹ Later Ahithophel said to Absalom: »Let me choose twelve thousand men. Tonight I will set out after David.

¹³ I have heard the slander of many; it is like terror all around me, as they conspire together and plot to take my life.

¹⁸ Let the lying lips be put to silence; who speak grievous things proudly and contemptuously against the righteous.

⁴ You love all pernicious words, O you deceitful tongue."

³ who sharpen their tongues like swords, and aim their bitter words like arrows, ⁴ to shoot in secret at the blameless; they will shoot him suddenly, and will not fear.

² Deliver my soul, O LORD, from lying lips, and from a deceitful tongue! ³ What shall be given to you, and what more shall be done to you, deceitful tongue?

³ They sharpen their tongue as sharp as a snake's; the venom of a viper is under their lips. Selah

¹⁷ haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood;

¹⁹ Truth’s lips will be established forever, but a lying tongue is only momentary.

²⁸ The heart of the righteous weighs answers, but the mouth of the wicked gushes out evil.

³ They use their tongues like a bow. Lies rather than truth fly throughout the land. They progress from one evil to another, and they don't know me," declares the LORD.

⁵ Friends deceive each other, and will not speak the truth. They have taught their tongue to speak lies. They weary themselves commiting iniquity.

⁵⁹ Now the chief priests and the whole Sanhedrin were looking for false testimony against Jesus in order that they could put him to death. ⁶⁰ But they could not find it, though many false witnesses came forward. Finally two came forward ⁶¹ and said, "This fellow said, 'I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days.'" ⁶² Then the High Priest stood up, and said to Jesus: "Have you no answer? What is this evidence which these men are giving against you?"

¹³ They presented false witnesses who said, “This man never stops speaking against this holy place and against the Law.

⁴ Jonathan spoke well of David to Saul his father, and said to him, Don't let the king sin against his servant David, because he has not sinned against you and he has worked well for you; ⁵ For he put his life in his hand and killed the Philistine and the LORD worked a great victory for all Israel. You saw it and rejoiced. Why then will you sin against innocent blood, to kill David without a cause?

¹⁸ Why does my lord pursue his servant? What have I done? What evil am I guilty of?

¹² Absalom was offering sacrifices. He sent for Ahithophel, David's adviser, to come from his home in Giloh. Meanwhile, the conspiracy grew stronger. The number of people siding with Absalom kept getting larger.

⁷ Shimei cursed him and said: "Get out! Get out you murderer! ⁸ The LORD has returned on you all the blood of the house of Saul, in whose place you have reigned. The LORD has delivered the kingdom into the hand of Absalom your son. Look, you are caught by your own mischief, because you are a man of blood."

¹¹ They are casting me out now; they surrounded me; their eyes set to turn me to the ground.

¹² Many bulls have surrounded me, strong bulls of Bashan have encircled me.

⁷ For they have hidden their pit-net for me without cause; without cause they have dug for my soul.

²⁰ For they do not speak peace, but they devise deceitful words against those who are quiet in the land.

³ For lo, they lie in wait for my soul, mighty ones gather against me; not for my transgression, and not my sin, O LORD. ⁴ I have done no wrong, yet they are ready to attack me. Rise up, look, and help me.

⁴ Those who hate me without cause are more than the hairs of my head. My persecutors are mighty, and they want to destroy me. Must I be forced to return what I did not steal?

¹⁷ They came around me like water all day long. They completely engulfed me.

¹² "Ephraim surrounds me with lies, the house of Israel with deceit. Yet Judah is unruly against God, even against the Holy One who is faithful."

²⁴ If I had not done among them the works that no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin; but now they have seen and hated both Me and My Father. ²⁵ But this is to fulfill what is written in their Law: ‘They hated Me without reason.’

³⁹ And the spirit of the king longed to go forth to Absalom: for he was comforted concerning Amnon, since he was dead.

³¹ Now David was told, "Ahithophel was among the conspirators with Absalom." Then David said, "Please frustrate the counsel of Ahithophel, O LORD." ³² When David had come to the top, where God was worshiped, behold, Hushai the Archite came to meet him with his tunic torn, and earth on his head.

¹² They repay me evil for good, Bereaving my soul.

²⁰ They reward my good with evil, opposing me because I seek to do good.

¹⁶ But I call on God, and the LORD saves me. ¹⁷ Evening, morning, and at noon, I will cry out in distress. He will hear my voice.

¹² Those who sit at the gate talk of me and I am the song of the drunkards. ¹³ But as for me, my prayer is to You, O LORD, at a time of favor, O God! in the plentitude of Your mercy answer me, in the truth of Your salvation.

¹⁰ When Daniel learned that the written document had been signed, he went to an upstairs room in his house that had windows opened facing Jerusalem. Three times a day he would kneel down, pray, and give thanks to his God, just as he had previously done. ¹¹ But they were filled with rage, and began to discuss with one another what they might do to Jesus. ¹² In those days, Jesus went out to the mountain to pray, and He spent the night in prayer to God.

³⁴ And Jesus said: Father, forgive them. For they do not know what they do. And they divided up his clothes by casting lots.

³² Jesus answered them, "I have shown you many good works from the Father. For which of these do you stone me?"

¹⁵ And for the sake of your souls, I will most gladly spend my money and myself. If I love you more, will you love me less?

⁴ And when they were gone out of the city, and not yet far off, Joseph said to his steward, Up, follow after the men; and when you do overtake them, say to them, Why have you rewarded evil for good?

³¹ Now David was told, "Ahithophel was among the conspirators with Absalom." Then David said, "Please frustrate the counsel of Ahithophel, O LORD."

⁷ For they have hidden their pit-net for me without cause; without cause they have dug for my soul. ⁸ Surprise them with destruction. Let the net that they hid catch them. Let them fall into their own pit and be destroyed. ⁹ Then my soul will rejoice in the LORD; it will rejoice in his salvation. ¹⁰ All my bones shall say, "LORD, who is like you, who delivers the poor from him who is too strong for him; yes, the poor and the needy from him who robs him?" ¹¹ Unrighteous witnesses rise up; they accuse me of things that I know nothing about. ¹² They repay me evil for good, Bereaving my soul.

¹² If an enemy had insulted me, then I could tolerate it. If someone who hated me had attacked me, then I could hide from him. ¹³ But it was you, a man like me, my companion, and my familiar friend. ¹⁴ We who together made sweet deliberation, We walked with the foregathering crowd in the House of Elohim." ¹⁵ Let death seize upon them, and let them go down alive into the grave: for wickedness is in their dwellings, and among them.

¹³ If anyone gives back evil for good, evil will never go away from his house.

⁴⁴ Now the betrayer had arranged a signal with them: “The One I kiss is the man; arrest Him and lead Him away securely.” ⁴⁵ Going directly to Jesus, he said, “Rabbi!” and kissed Him.

¹⁶ Judas son of James and Judas Iscariot, who became a traitor.

⁴⁷ While he was still speaking, a crowd came, and the man who was called Judas, one of the twelve, was leading them. He drew near to Jesus to kiss him; ⁴⁸ But Jesus asked him, "Judas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?"

¹⁸ I am not speaking about all of you; I know whom I have chosen. But this is to fulfill the Scripture: ‘The one who eats bread with Me has lifted up his heel against Me.’

¹ And he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to accuse him.

²⁵ Reconcile quickly with your adversary, while you are still on the way to court. Otherwise he may hand you over to the judge, and the judge may hand you over to the officer, and you may be thrown into prison.

⁴ "I have sinned," he said, "in betraying innocent blood!" "What is that to us?" they answered; "you must see to that."

² The evening meal was underway, and the devil had already put into the heart of Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot, to betray Jesus.

²⁷ And when Judas took the bread Satan went into him. Then Jesus said to him, Do quickly what you have to do.

⁸ The LORD abhorreth the sacrifice of the ungodly; but the prayer of the righteous is acceptable to him.

²⁷ The sacrifice of the wicked is hateful, how much more when he brings it with an evil intent!

⁹ Whoever turns away from listening to the Law even his prayer is detestable.

¹⁵ "When you spread out your hands in prayer, I will hide my eyes from you. Even though you offer many prayers, I will not listen because your hands are full of blood.

³ He who kills an ox is as he who kills a man; he who sacrifices a lamb, as he who breaks a dog's neck; he who offers an offering, as he who offers pig's blood; he who burns frankincense, as he who blesses an idol. Yes, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delights in their abominations:

¹³ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the kingdom of heaven in men’s faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let in those who wish to enter.

¹⁹ Now we know that whatever the Law says, it says to those who are under the Law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God.

¹⁰ All who rely on works of the Law are under a curse. For it is written: “Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.”

²³ But you, O God, will bring them down into the pit of destruction. Bloodthirsty and deceitful men will not live out half their days, but I will trust in you.

⁵ So Judas threw the silver into the temple and left. Then he went away and hanged himself.

¹⁶ “Brothers, the Scripture had to be fulfilled which the Holy Spirit foretold through the mouth of David concerning Judas, who became a guide for those who arrested Jesus. ¹⁷ "He was numbered among us, and shared in this ministry. ¹⁸ (With the reward of his wickedness Judas bought a field, and falling headlong, he burst open in the middle and all his intestines spilled out. ¹⁹ This became known to everyone living in Jerusalem; so they called that field in their own language Akeldama, that is, Field of Blood.) ²⁰ “For it is written in the book of Psalms: ‘May his dwelling be deserted; let there be no one to live in it,’ and, ‘May another take his office.’ ²¹ Therefore it is necessary to select one of the men who have accompanied us the whole time the Lord Jesus went in and out among us, ²² beginning from John’s baptism until the day Jesus was taken up from us. For one of these must become a witness with us of His resurrection.” ²³ So they proposed two men: Joseph called Barsabbas (also known as Justus) and Matthias. ²⁴ And they prayed, “Lord, You know everyone’s heart. Show us which of these two You have chosen ²⁵ to take this place of service as an apostle which Judas left to go where he belonged." ²⁶ Then they cast lots, and the lot fell to Matthias; so he was added to the eleven apostles.

²⁴ and My wrath will grow hot, and I will kill you with the sword; and your wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless.

²¹ Therefore deliver up their children to the famine, and give them over to the power of the sword. Let their wives become childless and widows. Let their men be killed and their young men struck by the sword in battle.

³ We are become orphans and fatherless, our mothers are as widows.

¹² "When you work the ground, it will no longer yield its crops for you. You will be a restless wanderer (vagabond) on the earth." ¹³ Cain said to the LORD: "My punishment is more than I can bear. ¹⁴ "You are driving me from the land today. I will be hidden from your presence. I will be a restless (homeless) wanderer on the earth. And whoever finds me will kill me."

²⁹ Let it fall upon the head of Joab, and upon all his father's house. And let there not fail from the house of Joab one who has an issue, or who is a leper, or who leans on a staff, or who falls by the sword, or who lacks bread.

²⁷ Therefore the leprosy of Naaman will cling to you and to your descendants forever." He went out from his presence a leper, as white as snow.

⁸ They are wet with the showers of hills, and embrace the rock for lack of shelter. ⁹ "The fatherless are torn from the breast; the poor are taken away as security for a loan. ¹⁰ They cause the naked to go without clothing, and they take away the sheaves from the hungry. ¹¹ They press out oil within their walls, they tread their winepresses, and suffer thirst. ¹² From the city, dying men groan aloud, and the wounded cries out for help, but God charges no one with wrong.

³ Withered up through want and hunger, they flee into waste places long since desolate and desert: ⁴ They pluck salt herbs by the bushes. The roots of the broom are their food. ⁵ they are driven from the midst; they shouted against them as a thief; ⁶ They dwelt in the clifts of the valleys, in caves of the earth, and in the rocks. ⁷ They bray among the bushes; they huddle together under the nettles; ⁸ Sons of fools, and sons of nameless sires, they are driven out of the land. ⁹ "But now I am their mocking song, and I have become a byword for them.

²⁵ I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his children begging for bread.

¹⁵ they wander to eat and murmer if they are not satisfied.

² Like fluttering birds pushed from the nest, so are the women of Moab at the fords of the Arnon River.

²⁹ and you will grope at noonday, as the blind man gropes in darkness. And you will not prosper in your ways. And you will only be oppressed and robbed always and there will be none to save you.

³³ A people whom you don't know will devour what your land and labor produces. You'll be only oppressed and discouraged continually ³⁴ so that the sights that you see with your eyes will drive you mad.

⁵⁰ A hard-faced nation, who will have no respect for the old or mercy for the young: ⁵¹ And it shall consume the fruit of your livestock and the fruit of your ground until you are destroyed, and who will not leave for you any grain, wine, and olive oil, calves of your herds, and lambs of your flock until it has destroyed you.

³ When the Israelites planted their crops, the Midianites and the Amalekites along with the desert tribes attacked them. ⁴ and they encamped against them, and destroyed the crops as far as Gaza, and left no sustenance in Israel, neither sheep nor ox nor donkey. ⁵ They came with their livestock and tents, as thick as locusts. It was impossible to count the men and their camels. They entered the land and destroyed it. ⁶ Because Israel was deeply impoverished due to the Midianites, they cried out to the LORD.

⁵ The hungry eat his harvest, and take him to the thorns, and the snare snuffs up their wealth.

⁹ "A trap seizes him by the heel and a snare holds him fast. ¹⁰ "A noose is hidden for him on the ground and a trap lies in his path. ¹¹ "Terrors startle him on every side and chase him at his heels. ¹² "Calamity hungers for him and disaster catch him when he falls. ¹³ "It eats away parts of his skin. Death's firstborn devours his limbs. ¹⁴ "He is torn from the security of his tent and marched off to the king of terrors. ¹⁵ "Fire resides in his tent; burning sulfur is scattered over his dwelling. ¹⁶ "His roots dry up below and his branches wither above. ¹⁷ "The memory of him perishes from the earth. He has no name in the street. ¹⁸ "He is driven from light into darkness and is banished from the world. ¹⁹ "He has no offspring or descendants among his people, no survivor where once he lived.

¹⁸ "What he toiled for he must give back uneaten. He will not enjoy the profit from his trading.

⁴ His children are far from safety, and are crushed in the gate, with none to deliver them.

⁸ Daughter of Babylon, doomed to destruction, he will be happy who repays you, as you have done to us. ⁹ Blessed is he who seizes your little ones and dashes them against the stone!

¹⁷ Therefore the Lord will have no joy in their young men, neither will have mercy on their fatherless and widows: for every one is a hypocrite and an evil-doer, and every mouth speaketh folly. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.

¹⁸ "And their bows will mow down the young men. They will not even have compassion on the fruit of the womb. Nor will they have compassion on children.

¹¹ When its twigs are dry, they are broken off and women come and make fires with them. For they have no understanding (discernment). Their Maker has no compassion on them, and their Creator shows them no favor.

²⁵ All the people answered, "May his blood be on us, and on our children."

³⁸ Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.”

⁵⁰ As a result, this generation will be charged with the blood of all the prophets that has been shed since the foundation of the world, ⁵¹ from the blood of Abel to the blood of Zechariah, who was killed between the altar and the sanctuary. Yes, I tell you, all of it will be charged to this generation.

¹³ For judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful. Mercy triumphs over judgment.

¹⁴ Let me alone, that I may destroy them, and blot out their name from under heaven: and I will make of thee a nation mightier and greater than they.

¹⁹ "When the LORD your God has given you rest from all your surrounding enemies, in the land the LORD your God gives you as an inheritance to possess. You will blot out the memory of Amalek from under heaven. Do not forget.

²⁰ the LORD will never be willing to forgive him, but rather the anger of the LORD and / His jealousy will burn against that man. Every curse which is written in this book will rest on him. the LORD will blot out his name from under heaven.

³¹ The days are coming when I will cut off your arm and the arm of your father's house so that there shall not be an old man in your house. ³² And you will see distress in the dwelling place, in all that he does good with Israel. And there will not be an old man in your house all the days. ³³ Any man of yours whom I shall not cut off from My altar, will only blind your eyes with tears and grieve your heart; all the increase of your house shall die in the prime of life.

¹³ For I have told him that I will judge his house forever for the iniquity which he knows, because his sons made themselves vile and he did not restrain them.

¹⁰ Know then that the word of the LORD will not fail which the LORD spoke concerning the house of Ahab; the LORD has done what he spoke by the hand of his servant Elijah. ¹¹ So Jehu killed all who remained of the house of Ahab in Jezreel and all his great men and his familiar friends and his priests, until he left to him none remaining.

¹⁹ "He has no offspring or descendants among his people, no survivor where once he lived.

¹⁰ You will destroy their descendants from the earth, their posterity from among the children of men.

²⁸ For the LORD loves justice and will not forsake his faithful ones. They are protected forever. But the children of the wicked will be cut off.

⁷ The memory of the righteous shall be for a blessing; but the name of the wicked shall rot.

²⁰ You will not join them in burial, because you have destroyed your land. You have killed your people. The offspring of evildoers will not be mentioned forever. ²¹ prepare thy sons for slaughter, for the sins of their fathers; that they may not rise and possess the land, and fill the World with wars. ²² For I will rise up against them, says the LORD Almighty, and cut off from Babylon the name and remnant, and son, and grandson, says the LORD.

³⁰ Thus says the LORD: "Record this man as childless, a man who will not succeed in his days, for no man from his offspring will succeed him, sitting on the throne of David and ruling again in Judah."

⁵ You shall not bow down to them in worship or serve them; because I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the iniquity of the parents, to the third and fourth generations of those who hate me,

³⁹ "'Those who are left will waste away in the lands of their enemies because of their sins and the sins of their ancestors.

¹ There was a famine in the days of David for three years, year after year; and David sought the face of the LORD. the LORD said, “It is for Saul, and for his bloody house, because he put the Gibeonites to death.”

⁸ But the king took Armoni and Mephibosheth, the two sons of Rizpah the daughter of Aiah whom she bore to Saul, and the five sons of Merab the daughter of Saul whom she bore to Adriel the son of Barzillai the Meholathite. ⁹ and he handed them over to the Gibeonites, who hanged them on the mountain in the presence of the LORD. All seven of them died at the same time. They were executed during the first days of harvest, just as the barley began to be gathered in.

²⁷ He walked in the way of the house of Ahab and did evil in the eyes of the LORD, as the house of Ahab; for he was the son-in-law of the house of Ahab.

²⁷ But when Ahaziah king of Judah saw it, he fled by the way of Beth Haggan. And Jehu pursued after him, and said, Slay him also. So one shot him in the chariot at the Ascent of Gur, which is by Ibleam. And he fled to Megiddo, and died there.

¹³ And Jehu found the brethren of Ahaziah king of Judah, and said, Who are you? And they said, We are the brethren of Ahaziah, and we have come down to greet the sons of the king, and the sons of the queen. ¹⁴ And he said, Take them alive. And they killed them at Beth Eked, forty-two men: he left not a man of them.

¹ Now when Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she arose and destroyed all the royal family.

³ He also walked in the ways of the house of Achab: for his mother pushed him on to do wickedly. ⁴ And he did evil in the eyes of the Lord, as the family of Ahab did; for after the death of his father they were his guides to his destruction.

⁵ and neither cover their perversity nor wipe away their sin from your face: for they vex you in front of the builders.

²⁵ I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions for my own sake; and I will not remember your sins.

²³ Yet, the LORD, you know all their counsel against me to kill me. Don't forgive their iniquity. Don't blot out their sin from your sight, Let them be overthrown before you. Deal with them in the time of your anger.

³¹ So you testify against yourselves that you are the sons of those who murdered the prophets. ³² Fill up, then, the measure of the sins of your fathers. ³³ You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape the sentence of hell? ³⁴ Because of this, I am sending you prophets and wise men and teachers. Some of them you will kill and crucify, and others you will flog in your synagogues and persecute in town after town. ³⁵ And so upon you will come all the righteous blood shed on earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah son of Berekiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar. ³⁶ I tell you truly all this will come on this generation.

³⁴ Do I not have this laid up in store, sealed up in my treasuries?

¹⁷ "The memory of him perishes from the earth. He has no name in the street.

¹⁶ The face of the LORD is against those who do evil, to cut off the memory of them from the earth.

⁹ Hide your face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities.

⁸ You have set our iniquities before you, our secret sins in the light of your presence.

¹³ Let his descendants be cut off. Let their name be blotted out in the next generation.

¹⁵ You will leave your name to my chosen ones as a curse. The Sovereign Sovereign LORD will put you to death, but to his servants he will give another name.

²² Though you wash yourself with lye and use much soap, the stain of your guilt is still before me," declares the Lord GOD.

² But they did not consider that I remember all their wickedness. Now their deeds surround them; they are before my face.

⁷ "The LORD has sworn by the pride of Jacob: I will never forget anything they have done.

²¹ They said to one another: "Truly we are guilty concerning our brother, because we saw his distress when he pleaded with us, yet we would not listen. Therefore this distress has come upon us."

¹¹ David said to Abishai, and to all his servants, "Look, my son, who came forth from my bowels, seeks my life. How much more this Benjamite, now? Leave him alone, and let him curse; for the LORD has invited him. ¹² It may be that the LORD will look on my affliction and return good to me for his cursing today."

¹ Later Ahithophel said to Absalom: »Let me choose twelve thousand men. Tonight I will set out after David. ² and I will come upon him when he is weary and weak-handed, and I will strike him with terror; and all the people with him shall flee, and I will smite the king only of all.

² "How long will you torment me, and crush me with words? ³ These ten times, have ye reviled me, Shameless ye wrong me.

²¹ "Have pity on me, my friends! Have pity on me because God's hand has struck me down. ²² "Why do you pursue me as God does? Why are you never satisfied with my flesh?

² In arrogance, the wicked hunt down the weak. They are caught in the schemes that they devise.

¹⁴ But you do see trouble and grief. You consider it to take it into your hand. You help the victim and the fatherless.

¹⁸ the LORD is near to the broken-hearted; and saves those who are of a contrite spirit.

¹⁴ The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, to kill those who walk uprightly.

³² The wicked looketh out for the righteous, and seeketh to slay him.

²⁰ Reproach hath broken my heart, and I am overwhelmed: and I looked for sympathy, but there was none; and for comforters, but I found none. ²¹ They gave me also gall for my food, and made me drink vinegar for my thirst. ²² Let their table before them become a snare, may it become a retribution and a trap. ²³ Let their eyes be darkened, so that they cannot see. Let their backs be continually bent. ²⁴ Pour out Your wrath on them; and let the glow of Your anger overtake them. ²⁵ Let their palace be desolate, and let no one dwell in their tents. ²⁶ For they persecute those whom you have struck, and they brag about the pain of those you have wounded. ²⁷ Charge them with crime upon crime. Do not let them come into your righteousness. ²⁸ Let them be blotted out of the book of life, and not be written with the righteous. ²⁹ But I am in pain and distress. Let your salvation, God, protect me.

⁷ Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.

³³ Should you not have had mercy on your fellow servant, just as I had on you?’ ³⁴ In his anger, his master turned him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should repay all that he owed. ³⁵ That is how My Heavenly Father will treat each of you, unless you forgive your brother from your heart.”

³⁵ When they had crucified him, they divided his clothes by casting lots. ³⁶ And sitting down, they kept watch over Him there. ³⁷ Above his head they put up the charge against him in writing: THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS ³⁸ Then two robbers were crucified with him, one on his right and one on his left. ³⁹ And those who passed by hurled insults at him, wagging their heads ⁴⁰ and saying, “You who are going to destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days, save Yourself! If You are the Son of God, come down from the cross!” ⁴¹ In the same way the Chief Priests, with the Teaches of the Law and Councillors, said in mockery: ⁴² "He saved others," they said, "but he cannot save himself! He the 'king of Israel'! Let him come down now from the cross; then we will believe in him! ⁴³ He trusts in God. Let God deliver him now, if he wants him; for he said, 'I am the Son of God.'" ⁴⁴ In the same way even the robbers who were crucified with him insulted him. ⁴⁵ From the sixth hour until the ninth hour darkness came over all the land. ⁴⁶ About the ninth hour, Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” which means, “My God, My God, why have you forsaken Me?”

³⁴ And He said to them: “My soul is overwhelmed with grief, to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch.” ³⁵ Going a little farther, He fell to the ground and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour would pass from Him. ³⁶ “Abba, Father,” He said, “all things are possible for You. Take this cup from Me. Yet not what I will, but what You will.”

⁴ You love all pernicious words, O you deceitful tongue." ⁵ but God will pull you down forever. He will snatch you and tear you away from your tent, and he will uproot you from the land of the living. Selah

¹² For the sin of their mouth, and the words of their lips, let them be caught in their pride, for the curses and lies which they utter. ¹³ Consume them in wrath, consume them, that they be no more: and let them know that God ruleth in Jacob, unto the ends of the earth. [Selah

¹⁴ The faithless one will be repaid for his ways, but a good man will be rewarded for his.

⁶ "'Therefore as I live, declares the Sovereign LORD: I will give you over to bloodshed (death), and bloodshed (death) will pursue you. Since you have not hated bloodshed, therefore bloodshed will pursue you.

² For with the same judgment you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

¹⁰ and with all the deception of wickedness for those who are to perish, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. ¹¹ For this reason, God will send them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie,

⁶ for they shed the blood of your people and prophets, and you have given them blood to drink, as they deserve."

²² "'May this water that can bring a curse go into your body and make your stomach swell and your uterus drop!'" Then the woman will say: "Amen!" "Amen!"

²⁷ "If she has become unclean by being unfaithful to her husband, the water that can bring the curse will go into her and become bitter. Her stomach will swell, her uterus will drop, and she will become cursed among her people.

¹² "Though evil is sweet in his mouth and he hides it under his tongue, ¹³ though he cannot bear to let it go and keeps it in his mouth, ¹⁴ yet his food will turn sour in his stomach; it will become the venom of serpents within him. ¹⁵ "He will spit out the riches he swallowed. God will make his stomach vomit them up. ¹⁶ "He will suck the poison of serpents. The fangs of an adder (cobra) will kill him.

²⁰ »He will have no respite from his craving; he cannot save himself by his treasure. ²¹ "There is nothing left for him to devour; his prosperity will not endure. ²² In the fullness of his sufficiency, distress will overtake him. The hand of everyone who is in misery will come on him. ²³ "With his belly full, God will vent his burning anger against him and rain down his blows upon him.

¹⁴ I put on righteousness, and it clothed me: my justice was as a robe and a turban.

⁶ Therefore pride is their necklace and violence covers them like a garment.

²⁴ The Son of Man will go just as it is written about Him, but woe to that man by whom He is betrayed. It would be better for him if he had not been born.”

³ When Judas, who had betrayed Him, saw that Jesus was condemned, he was filled with remorse and returned the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders. ⁴ "I have sinned," he said, "in betraying innocent blood!" "What is that to us?" they answered; "you must see to that." ⁵ So Judas threw the silver into the temple and left. Then he went away and hanged himself.

¹⁸ (With the reward of his wickedness Judas bought a field, and falling headlong, he burst open in the middle and all his intestines spilled out.

²⁵ to take this place of service as an apostle which Judas left to go where he belonged."

⁸ But now you must put aside all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your mouth.

¹² Therefore, as God's chosen ones, holy and loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience.

⁵ Young men, in the same way, submit yourselves to your elders. And all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”

²⁶ Let those who gloat over my downfall be thoroughly put to shame and confused. Let those who promote themselves at my expense be clothed with shame and disgrace.

¹⁸ He put on cursing like a robe, and it has come into his body like water, and into his bones like oil.

²⁹ May my accusers be clothed with shame and wrapped in their humiliation as with a robe.

¹⁸ I will clothe his enemies with shame, but on himself, his crown will be resplendent."

²³ When Ahithophel saw that his counsel was not followed, he saddled his donkey, and arose, and went home, to his city, and set his house in order, and hanged himself; and he died, and was buried in the tomb of his father.

³² The king said to the Cushite, "Is it peace for the young man Absalom?" Then the Cushite answered, "May the enemies of my lord the king and all who rise up against you to harm you be like the young man!"

⁴⁴ The king said moreover to Shimei, “You know in your heart all the wickedness that you did to David my father. Therefore the LORD will return your wickedness on your own head.

⁵ Then he rebukes them in his anger and terrifies them in his rage (fury). He says: ⁶ "But I myself have installed my king on Zion, my holy hill."

¹² Kiss the Son, lest he be angry and you be destroyed in your way, for his wrath can flare up in a moment. Blessed (happy) are all who take refuge (put trust) in him.

⁸ Your hand will find all your enemies, your right hand will find those who hate you. ⁹ When you appear, you will set them ablaze like a fire furnace. In his wrath, the LORD will consume them, and the fire will devour them. ¹⁰ You will destroy their descendants from the earth, their posterity from among the children of men. ¹¹ Though they plot evil against you and devise schemes, they will not succeed. ¹² For you will make them turn their back, when you aim drawn bows at their face.

¹⁴ Let all those who seek to end my life be confused and put to shame. Let those who want my downfall be turned back and disgraced. ¹⁵ Let those who say to me: Aha! Aha! Be stunned by their shame.

¹⁰ For my enemies talk against me; those who seek to kill me plot together

²³ He shall recompense them their wickedness, and destroy them in their own malice: yea the LORD our God shall destroy them.

¹ A Psalm by David. the LORD says to my Lord, Sit at My right hand, until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet.

⁵ The Lord is at your right hand. He will crush kings in the day of his wrath. ⁶ He will judge among the nations. He will heap up dead bodies. He will crush the ruler of the whole earth.

¹⁹ The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, 'Look, a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!' But wisdom is justified by her deeds."

²⁴ But when the Pharisees heard this they said, "It is only by Beelzebub, the prince of demons, that this fellow drives out demons."

⁶⁶ What do you think?” “He deserves to die,” they answered. ⁶⁷ Then they spit in his face and struck him with their fists. Some slapped him,

³⁹ But Jesus said, "Do not forbid him, for no one who does a miracle in my name can soon afterward speak evil of me.

²⁷ But those enemies of mine, who did not want me to reign over them, bring them here and slay them before me.'"

³ Therefore I tell you that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, "Jesus be cursed," and no one can say, "Jesus is Lord," except by the Holy Spirit.

¹⁵ who both killed the Lord Jesus and the prophets, and also drove us out. They displease God and are hostile to all men, ¹⁶ By hindering us from speaking to the Gentiles that they might be saved, thus always filling up their sins to the limit: but wrath has come upon them at last.

¹⁴ Alexander, the metal-worker, did me a great deal of harm. The Lord will repay him for what he did.

³ He restores my soul; He guides me in paths of righteousness for His name's sake.

¹¹ For the sake of your name, LORD, forgive my sin, for it is great.

³ For you are my rock and my fortress. So, for the sake of your name, lead me and guide me.

⁷ How precious is your gracious love, God! The children of men take refuge in the shadow of your wings. ⁸ They are refreshed with the fullness of your house, and you give them drink from the river of your delights. ⁹ For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light.

³ Because your loyal love is better than life, my lips will praise you.

¹⁶ Answer me, O LORD, because your loyal love is good; according to your abundant mercies, turn to me,

²⁹ But I am in pain and distress. Let your salvation, God, protect me.

¹⁵ But you, O Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger and abundant in loyal love and faithfulness.

¹¹ For your name's sake, O LORD, preserve my life; in your righteousness bring me out of trouble. ¹² In your loving kindness, cut off my enemies and destroy all those who afflict me. For I am your servant.

¹ After Jesus had said this, he looked up to heaven and said, "Father, the hour has come. Glorify your Son, so that the Son may glorify you.

⁸ And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to deatheven death on a cross. ⁹ Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place, and gave Him the name above all names, ¹⁰ that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, ¹¹ and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

¹⁵ Ever since I was young, I have been suffering and near death. I have endured your terrors, and now I am in despair. ¹⁶ Your burning anger has swept over me. Your terrors have destroyed me.

¹³ And Moses stretched out his staff over the land of Egypt, and the LORD brought an east wind on the land all that day and all that night. When it was morning, the east wind brought the locusts.

¹⁹ the LORD changed the wind to a very strong west wind. It picked up the locusts and blew them into the Red Sea. Not one locust was left anywhere in Egypt.

¹⁵ For we are aliens and vagrants in your presence, as were all of our ancestors. Our days on the earth pass away like shadows, and we have no hope.

² "He springs up like a flower and fades away. He is like a fleeting shadow and does not endure.

¹⁰ because of your indignation and your wrath; for you have taken me up and thrown me away. ¹¹ My days are like a lengthened shadow and I wither away like grass.

⁴ Man is like the breath: his days are like a passing shadow.

¹² For who knows what is good for a man in his life during the few days of his fleeting life, which are fleeting as a shadow? For who can tell anyone what will happen in the future under the sun?

¹³ but not good with the wicked: he prolongs not his days as a shadow; because he awes not at the face of Elohim.

¹⁴ You do not even know what will happen tomorrow! What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.

²⁰ I'm a pile of skin and bones; I have barely escaped by the skin of my teeth."

¹⁴ I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint. My heart is like wax; it is melted within me.

³ When I kept silence, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long. ⁴ For day and night your hand was heavy on me. My strength was sapped in the heat of summer. Selah.

¹³ But when they were sick, I wore sackcloth. I humbled myself with fasting. My prayer returned unanswered. ¹⁴ I behaved myself as though it had been my friend or my brother. I bowed down mourning, as he who weeps for his mother.

⁵ My wounds stink and are corrupt because of my foolishness. ⁶ I am bowed down; I am bent over greatly. All the day I go about mourning. ⁷ For my soul is filled with mockings; and there is no health in my flesh. ⁸ I give way and am utterly crushed. I roar out of the anguish of my heart.

⁹ Zeal for your house consumes me, and the mockeries of those who insult you fall on me. ¹⁰ I weep and fast, and I am mocked for it. ¹¹ When I put on the clothing of grief, they said evil of me. ¹² Those who sit at the gate talk of me and I am the song of the drunkards.

¹⁹ You know my reproach and my shame, and my dishonor; my enemies are all before You. ²⁰ Reproach hath broken my heart, and I am overwhelmed: and I looked for sympathy, but there was none; and for comforters, but I found none.

²² this is the word the LORD spoke against him: "The Virgin Daughter of Zion despises and mocks you. The Daughter of Jerusalem tosses her head as you flee.

³⁹ And those who passed by hurled insults at him, wagging their heads ⁴⁰ and saying, “You who are going to destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days, save Yourself! If You are the Son of God, come down from the cross!”

²⁹ Those who passed by heaped abuse on Him, shaking their heads and saying, “Aha! You who are going to destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days,

³ For even Christ did not please Himself, but as it is written: “The insults of those who insult You have fallen on Me.”

² Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

¹³ Let us, then, go to him outside the camp, bearing the disgrace he bore.

¹² For evils without number have encompassed me. My iniquities have overtaken me, so that I am not able to see. They are more than the hairs of my head, and my heart fails me.

¹ Be merciful to me, God, be merciful to me, for my soul takes refuge in you. Yes, in the shadow of your wings, I will take refuge, until disaster has passed.

¹³ But as for me, my prayer is to You, O LORD, at a time of favor, O God! in the plentitude of Your mercy answer me, in the truth of Your salvation.

⁸⁶ All Your commands are faithful; they persecute me with lying; help me!

⁷ During the days of Jesus’ earthly life, He offered up prayers and petitions with loud cries and tears to the One who could save Him from death, and He was heard because of His reverence.

¹⁹ And the magicians said to Pharaoh, This is the finger of God. And Pharaoh's heart was hardened, and he did not listen to them, as the LORD had said.

²⁸ Moses said: "This is how you will know that the LORD sent me to do all these things and that it wasn’t my idea: ²⁹ "If these men die a natural death like all other people the LORD has not sent me. ³⁰ "But if the LORD does something totally new, if the ground opens up, swallows them and everything that belongs to them, and they go down alive to their graves; then you will know that these men have treated the LORD with contempt."

⁴⁶ Today the LORD shall shut you up into my hand, and I shall strike you, and take off your head from you and give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds of the heavens and to the beasts of the earth today. And all the earth shall know that there is a God for Israel. ⁴⁷ and all this assembly do know that not by sword and by spear does the LORD save, that the battle [is] the LORD's, and He has given you into our hand..

³⁶ At the time of the evening offering, Elijah the prophet came near, and said, “the LORD, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known today that you are God in Israel, and that I am your servant, and that I have done all these things at your word. ³⁷ Answer me, O LORD, answer me; that this people may know that you, O LORD, are God and that you have turned their hearts back again."

⁷ He sealeth up the hand of all men, that every one may know his works.

¹³ Arise, O LORD, confront him, cast him down: deliver my soul from the wicked, by your sword: ¹⁴ from men by your hand, Yahweh, from men of the world, whose portion is in this life. You fill the belly of your cherished ones. Your sons have plenty, and they store up wealth for their children.

⁸ Their own tongues shall ruin them; all who see them will shake their heads. ⁹ All mankind shall be afraid. They shall declare the work of God, and shall wisely ponder what he has done.

² Then our mouths were filled with laughter, and our tongues formed joyful shouts. Then it was said among the nations, "The LORD has done great things for them."

³² God has raised this Jesus to life, to which we are all witnesses. ³³ Exalted, then, to the right hand of God, He has received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit and has poured out what you now see and hear. ³⁴ For David did not ascend into the heavens; yet he saith, "The Lord said to my lord, Sit at my right hand, ³⁵ until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet." ' ³⁶ Therefore let all Israel know with certainty that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ!”

¹⁶ They said, "What should we do with these men? For it's obvious to everybody living in Jerusalem that an unmistakable sign has been done by them, and we cannot deny it.

¹² God said to Balaam, "You will not go with them; you will not curse the people, because they are blessed."

²⁰ Look, I have received a command to bless. He has blessed, and I can't reverse it.

²³ For there is not a spell against Jacob, nor any divination against Israel. Now it is said of Jacob and Israel, See what God has done!

¹⁰ The king said, "What do we have in common, sons of Zeruiah? If he curses because the LORD has said to him 'Curse David,' who can say, "Why have you done this?" ¹¹ David said to Abishai, and to all his servants, "Look, my son, who came forth from my bowels, seeks my life. How much more this Benjamite, now? Leave him alone, and let him curse; for the LORD has invited him. ¹² It may be that the LORD will look on my affliction and return good to me for his cursing today." ¹³ So David and his men went by the way, and Shimei went along on the hill-side opposite him, and cursed as he went, and threw stones at him, and cast dust.

¹⁷ Yea, he loved cursing, and it came to him; he also had no pleasure in blessing, and it was far from him.

¹³ Therefore this is what the Sovereign Sovereign LORD says: My servants will eat, but you will go hungry. My servants will drink, but you will go thirsty. My servants will rejoice, but you will be put to shame! ¹⁴ My servants will sing out of the joy of their hearts, but you will cry out from anguish of heart and wail in brokenness of spirit. ¹⁵ You will leave your name to my chosen ones as a curse. The Sovereign Sovereign LORD will put you to death, but to his servants he will give another name. ¹⁶ Whoever invokes a blessing in the land will do so by the God of (amen, so be it) truth; he who takes an oath in the land will swear by the God of truth. For the past troubles will be forgotten and hidden from my eyes.

²² So also you have sorrow now, but I will see you again and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.

²² "Your enemies will be clothed in shame. The tents of the wicked will be no more."

¹⁰ All my enemies will be ashamed and dismayed. They will turn back in sudden disgrace.

¹⁷ Yea, he loved cursing, and it came to him; he also had no pleasure in blessing, and it was far from him. ¹⁸ He put on cursing like a robe, and it has come into his body like water, and into his bones like oil. ¹⁹ May those curses wrap around him like a garment, or like a belt that one always wears.

⁹ Let the heads of those who surround me be covered with their own threats.

¹¹ But the LORD is with me like a powerful warrior. Therefore my persecutors will stumble and will not prevail. They will be very ashamed, for they will not achieve success. Their everlasting insult will not be forgotten.

² Many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

¹⁰ And my hater will see it and be covered with shame; she who said to me, Where is the Lord your God? my eyes will see their desire effected on her, now she will be crushed under foot like the dust of the streets.

¹⁷ I will give thanks to the LORD according to his righteousness, and will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.

¹ [To the Chief Musician. To the tune of “Death of the Son.” A Psalm of David.] I will praise you, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will show forth all your marvelous works.

²² I will declare your name to my brothers. Among the assembly, I will praise you. ²³ You who fear the LORD, praise him. All you descendants of Jacob, glorify him. Revere him, all you descendants of Israel. ²⁴ For He has not despised nor hated the affliction of the afflicted; and He has not hidden His face from him, but when he cried to Him, He heard. ²⁵ From you comes my praise in the great assembly. I will pay my vows before those who fear him.

¹⁸ I will give thanks to you in the great assembly; among the mighty people I will praise you.

²² I will praise You with the harp for Your faithfulness, my God. I sing praise to You with the lyre, Holy One of Israel. ²³ My lips will shout for joy when I sing praise to you, whose life you have redeemed.

³² Let them exalt him in the assembly of the people and praise him in the counsel of the elders.

¹ A Song. A Psalm by David. My heart is steadfast, God. I will sing and I will make music with my soul. ² Awake, harp and lyre. I will awake the dawn. ³ I will praise you, O LORD, among the people. I will sing praises to you among the nations.

¹ Praise the LORD! I will thank the LORD with all my heart; in the council of the upright, and of the assembly.

¹² How can I repay the LORD for all the good that he has done for me? ¹³ I will lift up the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the LORD. ¹⁴ I will fulfill my vows to the LORD in the presence of all his people. ¹⁵ Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints. ¹⁶ LORD, truly I am your servant. I am your servant, the son of your handmaid. You have freed me from my chains. ¹⁷ I will bring you a thanksgiving offering and call on the name of the LORD! ¹⁸ I will fulfill my vows to the LORD in the presence of all his people,

¹ Of David. I give you thanks with my whole heart; before the gods I sing your praise.

⁴ All the kings of the earth shall praise you, O LORD, when they hear the words of your mouth.

¹² and say, "I will tell your name to my brothers, In the midst of the congregation I will sing your praise";

²² "Do not mistreat any widow or orphan. ²³ If you hurt them, they will cry out to me, and I will hear their cry: ²⁴ and My wrath will grow hot, and I will kill you with the sword; and your wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless.

⁸ I have set the LORD always before me; because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.

⁵ A father of the fatherless, and a defender of the widows, is God in his holy habitation.

⁴ May he defend the afflicted of the people and deliver the children of the poor, but crush the oppressor.

¹² For he will deliver the needy who crieth, and the afflicted, who hath no helper; ¹³ He will have pity on the poor and needy, he will save the needy persons.

²³ But I am always with You; You have held me by my right hand.

⁵ The Lord is at your right hand. He will crush kings in the day of his wrath.

⁵ the LORD is your protector; the LORD is your shade at your right hand.

¹² I know that the lord shall deal with the case of the poor, and the cause of the needy.

²² Do not exploit the poor, because he is poor; and do not crush the needy in court; ²³ for the LORD will plead their cause, and strip the soul of those who plunder them.

⁸ If you see the oppression of the poor, and the violent taking away of justice and righteousness in a district, don't marvel at the matter: for one official is eyed by a higher one; and there are officials over them.

¹⁷ "Weapons forged against you will not prevail! You will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD and this is their vindication from me," declares the LORD.

¹⁰ then let this be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel: It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed. ¹¹ He is ‘the stone you builders rejected, which has become the cornerstone.’ ¹² Salvation exists in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.”

³⁰ The God of our fathers raised Jesuswhom you had killed by hanging him on a tree. ³¹ God exalted him to his own right hand as Prince and Savior, to give repentance and forgiveness of sins to Israel.
