¹ To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. I waited patiently for the LORD; and He inclined to me, and heard my cry. ² He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings forth. ³ And He has put a new song in my mouth, even praise to our God: Many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD. ⁴ Blessed is that man that makes the LORD his trust, and does not respect the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies. ⁵ Many, O LORD my God, are Your wonderful works which You have done, and Your thoughts which are toward us: They cannot be recounted in order to You: If I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered. ⁶ Sacrifice and offering You did not desire; You have opened my ears: Burnt offering and sin offering you have not required. ⁷ Then I said, "See, I come: In the volume of the book it is written of me, ⁸ I delight to do Your will, O my God: Yes, Your law is within my heart." ⁹ I have preached righteousness in the great congregation: Lo, I have not refrained my lips, O LORD, You know. ¹⁰ I have not hid Your righteousness within my heart; I have declared Your faithfulness and Your salvation: I have not concealed Your lovingkindness and Your truth from the great congregation. ¹¹ Do not withhold Your tender mercies from me, O LORD: Let Your lovingkindness and Your truth continually preserve me. ¹² For innumerable evils have compassed around me: My iniquities have taken hold upon me, so that I am not able to look up; they are more than the hairs of my head: Therefore my heart fails me. ¹³ Be pleased, O LORD, to deliver me: O LORD, make haste to help me. ¹⁴ Let them be ashamed and confounded that together seek after my soul to destroy it; let them be driven backward and put to shame that wish me evil. ¹⁵ Let them be desolate for a reward of their shame that say to me, "Aha, aha." ¹⁶ Let all those that seek You rejoice and be glad in You: Let such as love Your salvation say continually, "The LORD be magnified." ¹⁷ But I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinks upon me: You are my help and my deliverer; make no tarrying, O my God.

¹³ I would have fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. ¹⁴ Wait on the LORD: Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart: Wait, I say, "on the LORD.

¹⁵ The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry.

⁷ Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him: Do not fret yourself because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked devices to pass.

² Because He has inclined His ear to me, therefore I will call upon Him as long as I live.

² Lord, hear my voice: Let Your ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications.

¹⁸ O my God, incline Your ear, and hear; open Your eyes, and behold our desolations, and the city which is called by Your name: For we do not present our supplications before You on account of our righteousnesses, but because of Your great mercies.

⁷ Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. Behold, the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, and has long patience for it, until he receives the early and latter rain. ⁸ You also be patient; establish your hearts: For the coming of the Lord draws near. ⁹ Do not hold a grudge against one another, brethren, lest you be condemned: Behold, the Judge stands before the door. ¹⁰ My brethren, take the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, as an example of suffering affliction, and of patience. ¹¹ Behold, we count them happy who endure. You have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the ending of the Lord; that the Lord is very compassionate, and of tender mercy.

⁵ Support my goings forth in Your paths, that my footsteps do not slip.

¹⁶ He sent from above, He took me, He drew me out of many waters. ¹⁷ He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from those who hated me: For they were too strong for me.

³⁶ You have enlarged my steps under me, that my feet did not slip.

⁵ For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion: In the secret of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me upon a rock.

²³ The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: And he delights in his way.

² From the end of the earth I will cry out to You, when my heart is overwhelmed: Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

² I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing: I have come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me.

¹⁴ Deliver me out of the mire, and let me not sink: Let me be delivered from those that hate me, and out of the deep waters. ¹⁵ Do not let the flood waters overflow me, neither let the deep swallow me up, and do not let the pit shut her mouth upon me.

²⁰ You, which have shown me great and grievous troubles, shall vivify me again, and shall bring me up again from the depths of the earth.

¹³ For great is Your mercy toward me: And You have delivered my soul from the lowest hell.

³ The sorrows of death compassed around me, and the pains of hell took hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow.

¹³³ Order my steps in Your word: And do not let any iniquity have dominion over me.

⁶ Attend to my cry; for I am brought very low: Deliver me from my persecutors; for they are stronger than I. ⁷ Bring my soul out of prison, that I may praise Your name: The righteous shall compass me around; for You shall deal bountifully with me."

³ For the enemy has persecuted my soul; he has beaten my life down to the ground; he has made me dwell in darkness, as those that have been long dead.

²² And they shall be gathered together, as prisoners are gathered in the pit, and shall be shut up in the prison, and after many days they shall be visited.

⁶ Then they took Jeremiah, and cast him into the dungeon of Malchiah the son of Hammelech, that was in the court of the prison: And they let down Jeremiah with cords. And in the dungeon there was no water, but mire: So Jeremiah sunk in the mire. ⁷ Now when Ebedmelech the Ethiopian, one of the eunuchs who was in the king's house, heard that they had put Jeremiah in the dungeon; the king then sitting in the gate of Benjamin; ⁸ ebedmelech went forth out of the king's house, and spoke to the king saying, ⁹ "My lord the king, these men have done evil in all that they have done to Jeremiah the prophet, whom they have cast into the dungeon; and he is likely to die for hunger in the place where he is: For there is no more bread in the city." ¹⁰ Then the king commanded Ebedmelech the Ethiopian, saying, "Take from hence thirty men with you, and take up Jeremiah the prophet out of the dungeon, before he dies." ¹¹ So Ebedmelech took the men with him, and went into the house of the king under the treasury, and took there old cast clouts and old rotten rags, and let them down by cords into the dungeon to Jeremiah. ¹² And Ebedmelech the Ethiopian said to Jeremiah, "Now put these old cast clouts and rotten rags under your armholes under the cords." And Jeremiah did so.

⁵³ They have cut off my life in the dungeon, and cast a stone on me. ⁵⁴ Waters flowed over my head; then I said, "I am cut off." ⁵⁵ I called on Your name, O LORD, out of the low dungeon.

⁵ The waters encompassed me, even to the soul: The depth closed me in all around, the weeds were wrapped about my head. ⁶ I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about me forever: Yet You have brought up my life from corruption, O LORD my God.

¹¹ As for you also, by the blood of your covenant I have sent forth your prisoners out of the pit in which there is no water.

²⁴ Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man, who built his house upon a rock: ²⁵ And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it did not fall: For it was founded upon a rock.

⁵⁰ and shall cast them into a furnace of fire: There shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth."

²⁴ Whom God has raised up, having loosed the pains of death: Because it was not possible that He should be held by it.

²⁷ Because You will not leave my soul in hell, neither will You permit Your Holy One to see corruption. ²⁸ You have made known to me the ways of life; You shall make me full of joy with Your countenance.' ²⁹ "Men and brethren, let me speak freely to you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us to this day. ³⁰ Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, after the flesh, He would raise up Christ to sit on his throne; ³¹ he foreseeing this beforehand, spoke of the resurrection of Christ, that His soul was not left in hell, neither did His flesh see corruption.

³ Sing to Him a new song; play skillfully with a loud noise.

¹ A Psalm of David, when he changed his behavior before Abimelech; who drove him away, and he departed. I will bless the LORD at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth. ² My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: The humble shall hear of it, and be glad. ³ O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt His name together. ⁴ I sought the LORD, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. ⁵ They looked to Him, and were lightened: And their faces were not ashamed. ⁶ This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.

²⁷ Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favor my righteous cause: Yes, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, which has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.

⁶ The righteous also shall see, and fear, and shall laugh at him:

⁹ And all men shall fear, and shall declare the work of God; for they shall wisely consider of His doing. ¹⁰ The righteous shall be glad in the LORD, and shall trust in Him; and all the upright in heart shall glory.

¹ A Psalm of David. Bless the LORD, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name. ² Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: ³ Who forgives all your iniquities; Who heals all your diseases; ⁴ who redeems your life from destruction; Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies; ⁵ who satisfies your mouth with good things; so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.

⁷ Bring my soul out of prison, that I may praise Your name: The righteous shall compass me around; for You shall deal bountifully with me."

⁹ I will sing a new song to You, O God: Upon a psaltery and an instrument of ten strings I will sing praises to You.

¹ And in that day you shall say, "O LORD, I will praise You: Though You were angry with me, Your anger is turned away, and You comforted me. ² Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: For the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; He also has become my salvation. ³ Therefore with joy you shall draw water out of the wells of salvation. ⁴ And in that day you shall say, "Praise the LORD, call on His name, declare His doings among the people, make mention that His name is exalted.

⁵ Afterward the children of Israel shall return, and seek the LORD their God, and David their king; and shall fear the LORD and His goodness in the latter days.

³¹ he foreseeing this beforehand, spoke of the resurrection of Christ, that His soul was not left in hell, neither did His flesh see corruption. ³² This Jesus God has raised up, of which we are all witnesses. ³³ Therefore being exalted by the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He has shed forth this, which you now see and hear. ³⁴ "For David is not ascended into the heavens: But he himself said, 'The Lord said to my Lord, "Sit at My right hand, ³⁵ until I make Your enemies Your footstool." ' ³⁶ "Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this same Jesus, whom you have crucified, both Lord and Christ." ³⁷ Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said to Peter and to the rest of the apostles, "Men and brethren, what shall we do?" ³⁸ Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. ³⁹ For the promise is to you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call." ⁴⁰ And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, "Save yourselves from this crooked generation." ⁴¹ Then those that gladly received his word were baptized: And the same day there were about three thousand souls added to them.

⁴ Nevertheless, many of those who heard the word believed; and the number of the men was about five thousand.

⁹ And they sang a new song, saying, "You are worthy to take the book, and to open its seals: For You were slain, and have redeemed us to God by Your blood out of every tribe, and tongue, and people, and nation; ¹⁰ and have made us kings and priests to our God: And we shall reign on the earth."

³ And they sang as it were a new song before the throne, before the four beasts, and the elders: And no man could learn that song except the one hundred and forty-four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth.

¹² Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and all you perish from pursuing the way, when His wrath is kindled only a little. Blessed are all those that put their trust in Him.

⁴ In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honors those that fear the LORD. He that swears to his own hurt, and does not change it.

⁸ O taste and see that the LORD is good: Blessed is the man that trusts in him.

¹¹ For the LORD God is a sun and shield: The LORD will give grace and glory: He will not withhold any good thing from those that walk uprightly. ¹² O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man who trusts in You.

³ I will set no wicked thing before my eyes: I have hated the work of those who turn aside; it shall not cleave to me. ⁴ A froward heart shall depart from me: I will not know a wicked person. ⁵ Whoever privately slanders his neighbor, him I will cut off: He who has a high look and a proud heart I will not suffer. ⁶ My eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me: He who walks in a perfect way, he shall serve me. ⁷ He who works deceit shall not dwell within my house: He who tells lies shall not tarry in my sight.

⁸ It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man. ⁹ It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes.

²¹ You have rebuked the proud who are cursed, who go astray from Your commandments.

⁵ As for such as turn aside to their crooked ways, the LORD shall lead them away with the workers of iniquity: But peace shall be upon Israel.

¹⁸ They have not known nor understood: For He has shut their eyes, that they cannot see; and their hearts, that they cannot understand. ¹⁹ And none considers in his heart, neither is there knowledge nor understanding to say, "I have burned part of it in the fire; yes, also I have baked bread on the coals of it; I have roasted flesh, and eaten it: And I shall make the residue of it an abomination? Shall I fall down to the stock of a tree?" ²⁰ He feeds on ashes: A deceived heart has turned him aside, that he cannot deliver his soul, nor say, "Is there not a lie in my right hand?"

¹⁴ Every man is brutish in His knowledge: Every founder is confounded by the graven image: For His molten image is falsehood, and there is no breath in them. ¹⁵ They are vanity, and the work of errors: In the time of their visitation they shall perish.

⁷ Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, and whose hope is the LORD. ⁸ For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, and which spreads out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat comes, but her leaves shall be green; and shall not be anxious in the year of drought, nor shall cease from yielding fruit.

⁸ Those that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy.

¹² And again, Isaiah said, "There shall be a root of Jesse, and He that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in Him shall the Gentiles trust." ¹³ Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Spirit.

⁹ Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, ¹⁰ and with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in those that perish; because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. ¹¹ And for this reason God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

⁸ And all these, your servants, shall come down to me, and bow down themselves to me, saying, 'Get out, you and all the people that follow you': And after that I will go out." And he went out from Pharaoh in a great anger.

¹¹ Who is like You, O LORD, among the gods? Who is like You, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?

⁹ Which does great things and unsearchable; marvelous things without number:

¹⁰ Which does great things past finding out; yes, and wonders without number.

¹⁴ See, these are parts of his ways: But how little a portion is heard of him? But the thunder of his power who can understand?

¹⁹ Teach us what we shall say to him; for we cannot order our speech by reason of darkness. ²⁰ Shall it be told him that I speak? If a man speak, surely he shall be swallowed up.

¹⁵ My mouth shall show forth Your righteousness and Your salvation all the day long; for I do not know their numbers.

⁵ O LORD, how great are Your works! And Your thoughts are very deep.

⁴ To Him Who alone does great wonders: For His mercy endures forever.

⁶ Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain to it.

¹⁷ How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them! ¹⁸ If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: When I awake, I am still with You.

⁸ "For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways", said the LORD. ⁹ "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.

¹¹ For I know the thoughts that I think toward you', said the LORD, 'thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

⁶ Then his master shall bring him to the judges; he shall also bring him to the door, or to the door post; and his master shall bore his ear through with an awl; and he shall serve him forever.

²² And Samuel said, "Has the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.

¹⁶ then he opens the ears of men, and seals their instruction,

⁸ I will not reprove you for your sacrifices or your burnt offerings, to have been continually before me.

¹⁶ For You do not desire sacrifice; otherwise I would give it: You do not delight in burnt offering.

¹¹ "To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices to Me?" said the LORD: "I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I do not delight in the blood of bulls, or of lambs, or of he-goats.

⁴ The Lord GOD has given Me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him who is weary: He wakens morning by morning, He wakens my ear to hear as the learned. ⁵ The Lord GOD has opened My ear, and I was not rebellious, neither turned away back.

³ He who kills an ox is as if he slew a man; he who sacrifices a lamb, as if he cut off a dog's neck; he who offers an oblation, as if he offered swine's blood; he who burns incense, as if he blessed an idol. Yes, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delights in their abominations.

²¹ Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; "Put your burnt offerings to your sacrifices, and eat flesh. ²² For I did not speak to your fathers, nor commanded them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices: ²³ But this thing I commanded them, saying, 'Obey My voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be My people: And walk in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well to you.

⁶ For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.

²² Though you offer me burnt offerings and your food offerings, I will not accept them: Neither will I regard the peace offerings of your fat domestic beasts.peace offerings; or, thank offerings

¹³ But go and learn what this means: 'I will have mercy, and not sacrifice': For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance."

⁷ But if you had known what this means, 'I will have mercy, and not sacrifice', you would not have condemned the guiltless.

⁵ Therefore, when He comes into the world, He says, "You would not like sacrifice and offering, but You have prepared Me a body: ⁶ In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin You had no pleasure. ⁷ Then I said, 'Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of Me) to do Your will, O God.' " ⁸ When He said above, "You would not like sacrifice, offering, burnt offerings, nor offerings for sin, neither had pleasure in them"; which are offered according to the law; ⁹ then He said, "Behold, I come to do Your will, O God." He takes away the first, that He may establish the second. ¹⁰ By that will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. ¹¹ And every priest stands ministering daily and offering frequently the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: ¹² But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God;

¹⁵ And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed; it shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel."

²⁷ And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, He expounded to them in all the scriptures the things concerning Himself.

⁴⁴ And He said to them, "These are the words which I spoke to you, while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the Law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the Psalms, concerning Me."

³⁹ Search the scriptures; for in them you think you have eternal life: And these are they which testify of Me.

⁴³ To Him all the prophets give witness, that through His name whoever believes in Him shall receive remission of sins."

³ For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received, how Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; ⁴ and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

⁷ Then I said, 'Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of Me) to do Your will, O God.' " ⁸ When He said above, "You would not like sacrifice, offering, burnt offerings, nor offerings for sin, neither had pleasure in them"; which are offered according to the law; ⁹ then He said, "Behold, I come to do Your will, O God." He takes away the first, that He may establish the second.

¹⁰ Of which salvation the prophets have inquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come to you: ¹¹ Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them signified, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.

¹⁰ And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said to me, "See that you do not do it: I am your fellow-servant, and of your brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: Worship God: For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy."

¹² Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.

³⁰ The mouth of the righteous speaks wisdom, and his tongue talks of judgment. ³¹ The law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide.

¹ Praise the LORD. Blessed is the man that fears the LORD, that delights greatly in His commandments.

¹⁶ I will delight myself in Your statutes: I will not forget Your word.

²⁴ Your testimonies also are my delight and my counselors.

⁴⁷ And I will delight myself in Your commandments, which I have loved.

⁹² Unless Your law had been my delight, I should then have perished in my affliction.

¹ My son, do not forget my law; but let your heart keep my commandments:

¹⁶ Your words were found, and I ate them; and Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart: For I am called by Your name, O LORD God of hosts.

³³ "But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days", said the LORD, "I will put My law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be My people.

³⁴ Jesus said to them, "My food is to do the will of Him that sent Me, and to finish His work.

²² For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man:

²⁹ For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.

³ For as much as you are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tablets of stone, but in fleshy tablets of the heart.

²² the LORD God of gods, the LORD God of gods, he knows, and Israel he shall know; if it be in rebellion, or if in transgression against the LORD, (save us not this day),

²² I will declare Your name to My brethren: In the midst of the congregation I will praise You.

²⁵ My praise shall be of You in the great congregation: I will pay my vows before those that fear Him.

¹⁸ I will give You thanks in the large congregation: I will praise You among many people.

¹⁵ My mouth shall show forth Your righteousness and Your salvation all the day long; for I do not know their numbers. ¹⁶ I will go in the strength of the Lord GOD: I will make mention of Your righteousness, even of Yours only. ¹⁷ O God, You have taught me from my youth: And until now I have declared Your wondrous works. ¹⁸ Now also when I am old and gray-headed, O God, do not forsake me; until I have showed Your strength to this generation, and Your power to everyone that is to come.

¹³ With my lips I have declared all the judgments of Your mouth.

¹⁷¹ My lips shall utter praise, when You have taught me Your statutes. ¹⁷² My tongue shall speak of Your word: For all Your commandments are righteousness.

² You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thoughts afar off.

¹⁵ And He said to them, "Go into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. ¹⁶ He who believes and is baptized shall be saved; but he who does not believe shall be damned.

¹⁶ Then He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up: And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read. ¹⁷ And the book of the prophet Isaiah was delivered to Him. And when He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written, ¹⁸ "The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are bruised, ¹⁹ to preach the acceptable year of the LORD." ²⁰ Then He closed the book, and He gave it back to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all of those who were in the synagogue were fixed on Him. ²¹ And He began to say to them, "Today this scripture is fulfilled in your ears." ²² Therefore all bore Him witness, and marveled at the gracious words which proceeded out of His mouth. And they said, "Is this not Joseph's son?"

¹⁷ He said to him the third time, "Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?" Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, "Do you love Me?" And he said to Him, "Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You." Jesus said to him, "Feed My sheep.

¹² saying, "I will declare Your name to My brethren, in the midst of the church I will sing praise to You."

¹⁰ All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth to such as keep His covenant and His testimonies.

⁶ This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.

¹ Maschil of Ethan the Ezrahite. I will sing of the mercies of the LORD forever: With my mouth I will make known Your faithfulness to all generations.

⁶ And He said, 'It is a light thing that You should be My servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give You for a light to the Gentiles, that You may be My salvation to the end of the earth.' "

⁷ And you shall speak My words to them, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear: For they are most rebellious.

¹⁷ "Son of man, I have made you a watchman to the house of Israel: Therefore hear the word of My mouth, and give them warning from Me. ¹⁸ When I say to the wicked, 'You shall surely die'; and you do not give him warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at your hand.

²⁰ You will perform the truth to Jacob, and the mercy to Abraham, which You have sworn to our fathers from the days of old.

³⁰ For my eyes have seen Your salvation, ³¹ which You have prepared before the face of all people; ³² a light to bring revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of Your people Israel."

⁶ and all flesh shall see the salvation of God.' "

¹⁷ For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

¹⁶ For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. ¹⁷ For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.

³² And we declare to you glad tidings, how the promise which was made to the fathers, ³³ God has fulfilled the same for us their children, in that He has raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second Psalm, 'You are My Son, this day I have begotten You.'

²⁰ And how I kept back nothing that was profitable to you, but have shown you, and have taught you publicly, and from house to house, ²¹ testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

²⁶ Therefore I testify for the record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men. ²⁷ For I have not shunned to declare to you all the counsel of God.

¹⁶ For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: For it is the power of God to salvation to everyone that believes; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. ¹⁷ For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith: As it is written, "The just shall live by faith."

²² even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ to all and upon all those who believe: For there is no difference: ²³ For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; ²⁴ being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: ²⁵ Whom God has set out to be a propitiation through faith in His blood, to declare His righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; ²⁶ to declare, I say, at this time His righteousness: That He might be just, and the justifier of him that believes in Jesus.

³ For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves to the righteousness of God.

⁹ that if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. ¹⁰ For with the heart man believes to righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made to salvation.

⁸ Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made to the fathers: ⁹ And that the Gentiles might glorify God for His mercy; as it is written, "For this reason I will confess to You among the Gentiles, and sing to Your name."

⁹ and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

⁸ For the word of the Lord sounded out from you not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith towards God is spread abroad; so that we do not need to speak anything.

¹⁵ This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.

¹⁷ And the Spirit and the bride say, "Come." And let him that hears say, "Come." And let him that is thirsty come. And whoever is willing, let him take the water of life freely.

⁶ Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: And I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

³ O send out Your light and Your truth: Let them lead me; let them bring me to Your holy hill, and to Your tabernacles.

³ He shall send from heaven, and save me from the reproach of him that would swallow me up. Selah. God shall send forth His mercy and His truth.

⁷ He shall abide before God forever: O prepare mercy and truth, which may preserve him.

¹³ But as for me, my prayer is to You, O LORD, in an acceptable time: O God, in the multitude of Your mercy hear me, in the truth of Your salvation.

¹⁶ Hear me, O LORD; for your lovingkindness is good: Turn to me according to the multitude of your tender mercies.

¹⁰ Mercy and truth have met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.

²⁸ Mercy and truth preserve the king: And his throne is upheld by mercy.

⁷ Who in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears to Him that was able to save Him from death, and was heard because He feared;

²⁸ And he said to his brothers, "My money is restored; and lo, it is even in my sack": And their heart failed them, and they were afraid, saying to one another, "What is this that God has done to us?"

¹² Who can understand his errors? Cleanse me from secret faults.

¹¹ Be not far from Me; for trouble is near; for there is none to help. ¹² Many bulls have compassed Me: Strong bulls of Bashan have beset Me around. ¹³ They gaped upon Me with their mouths, as a ravening and a roaring lion. ¹⁴ I am poured out like water, and all My bones are out of joint: My heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of My bowels. ¹⁵ My strength is dried up like a broken clay pot fragment; and My tongue sticks to My jaws; and you have brought Me into the dust of death. ¹⁶ For dogs have compassed around Me: The assembly of the wicked have enclosed Me: They pierced My hands and My feet. ¹⁷ I may count all My bones: They look and stare upon Me. ¹⁸ They part My garments among them, and cast lots upon My clothing. ¹⁹ But You, O LORD, be not far from Me: O My strength, hasten to help Me.

⁴ For my iniquities have gone over my head: As a heavy burden they are too heavy for me.

⁴ Those who hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of my head: Those who would destroy me, being my enemies wrongfully, are mighty: Then I restored that which I did not take away.

²⁶ My flesh and my heart fails: But God is the strength of my heart, and my portion forever.

⁶ All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, every one, to his own way; and the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.

¹³ And the publican, standing afar off, would not so much as lift up his eyes to heaven, but smote his breast, saying, 'God, be merciful to me a sinner.' ¹⁴ I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: For everyone who exalts himself shall be abased; and he that humbles himself shall be exalted."

²⁶ men's hearts failing them from fear, and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth: For the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

¹⁵ For we do not have a High Priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.

¹⁸ For Christ also has suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but made alive by the Spirit:

¹⁹ But You, O LORD, be not far from Me: O My strength, hasten to help Me.

¹⁷ The troubles of my heart are enlarged: O bring me out of my distresses. ¹⁸ Look upon my affliction and my pain; and forgive all my sins.

²² Make haste to help me, O Lord my salvation.

¹ To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David, to bring to remembrance. Make haste, O God, to deliver me; make haste to help me, O LORD. ² Let them be ashamed and confounded that seek after my soul: Let them be turned backward, and put to confusion, that desire my hurt. ³ Let them be turned back for a reward of their shame that say, "Aha, aha." ⁴ Let all those that seek You rejoice and be glad in You: And let such as love Your salvation say continually, "Let God be magnified." ⁵ But I am poor and needy: Make haste to me, O God: You are my help and my deliverer; O LORD, make no tarrying.

¹² O God, do not be far from me: O my God, make haste for my help.

³⁶ Then Jesus came with them to a place called Gethsemane, and said to the disciples, "Sit here, while I go and pray over there." ³⁷ And He took Peter and the two sons of Zebedee with Him, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy. ³⁸ And He said to them, "My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death: Tarry here, and watch with Me." ³⁹ And He went a little further, fell on His face, and prayed, saying, "O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me: Nevertheless not as I will, but as You will." ⁴⁰ Then He came to the disciples, and found them asleep, and said to Peter, "What, could you not watch with Me one hour? ⁴¹ Watch and pray, that you do not enter into temptation: The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak." ⁴² He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, "O My Father, if this cup may not pass away from Me, unless I drink it, Your will be done." ⁴³ And He came and found them asleep again; for their eyes were heavy. ⁴⁴ So He left them, went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words.

³ When my enemies are turned back, they shall fall and perish at Your presence.

¹⁷ Let me not be ashamed, O LORD; for I have called upon You: Let the wicked be ashamed, and let them be silent in the grave. ¹⁸ Let the lying lips be put to silence; which speak grievous things proudly and contemptuously against the righteous.

⁴ Let them be confounded and put to shame that seek after my soul: Let them be turned back and brought to confusion that devise my hurt.

²⁶ Let them be ashamed and brought to confusion together who rejoice at my hurt: Let them be clothed with shame and dishonor that magnify themselves against me.

² Let them be ashamed and confounded that seek after my soul: Let them be turned backward, and put to confusion, that desire my hurt. ³ Let them be turned back for a reward of their shame that say, "Aha, aha."

¹³ Let them be confounded and consumed that are adversaries to my soul; let them be covered with reproach and dishonor that seek my hurt.

¹¹ Behold, all they who were incensed against you shall be ashamed and confounded: They shall be as nothing; and those who strive with you shall perish.

²⁴ Surely, one shall say, 'In the LORD I have righteousness and strength': Even to Him men shall come; and all that are incensed against Him shall be ashamed.

³⁸ But when the vinedressers saw the son, they said among themselves, 'This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance.' ³⁹ And they caught him, and cast him out of the vineyard, and slew him. ⁴⁰ Therefore when the lord of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those vinedressers? ⁴¹ They said to Him, "He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will lease out his vineyard to other vinedressers, which shall give him the fruits in their seasons."

⁶ Then, as soon as He said to them, "I am He", they went backward, and fell to the ground.

⁴ Then he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying to him, "Saul, Saul, why do you persecute Me?" ⁵ And he said, "Who are You, Lord?" And the Lord said, "I am Jesus whom you persecute: It is hard for you to kick against the prods." ⁶ And he trembling and astonished said, "Lord, what would You have me to do?" And the Lord said to him, "Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told to you what you must do."

²³ And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he did not give glory to God: And he was eaten by worms, and gave up the ghost. ²⁴ But the Word of God grew and multiplied.

²¹ Yes, they opened their mouth wide against me, and said, "Aha, aha, our eye has seen it."

²⁵ Let them not say in their hearts, "Ah, so we have our desire": Do not let them say, "We have swallowed him up."

²⁴ Pour out Your indignation upon them, and let Your wrathful anger take hold of them. ²⁵ Let their habitation be desolate; and let none dwell in their tents.

³ Let them be turned back for a reward of their shame that say, "Aha, aha." ⁴ Let all those that seek You rejoice and be glad in You: And let such as love Your salvation say continually, "Let God be magnified."

¹⁹ How are they brought into desolation, as in a moment! They are utterly consumed with terrors.

⁶ Set a wicked man over him: And let Satan stand at his right hand. ⁷ When he shall be judged, let him be condemned: And let his prayer become sin. ⁸ Let his days be few; and let another take his office. ⁹ Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow. ¹⁰ Let his children continually be vagabonds, and beg; let them also seek their bread out of their desolate places. ¹¹ Let the extortioner catch all that he has; and let the strangers spoil his labor. ¹² Let there be none to extend mercy to him: Neither let there be any to favor his fatherless children. ¹³ Let his posterity be cut off; and in the generation following, let their name be blotted out. ¹⁴ Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered by the LORD; and let not the sin of his mother be blotted out. ¹⁵ Let them be continually be before the LORD, that He may cut off the memory of them from the earth ¹⁶ Because he did not remember to show mercy, but persecuted the poor and needy man, that he might even slay the broken in heart. ¹⁷ As he loved cursing, so let it come to him: As he delighted not in blessing, so let it be far from him. ¹⁸ As he clothed himself with cursing as with a garment, so let it come into his bowels like water, and like oil into his bones. ¹⁹ Let it be to him as the garment which covers him, and for a girdle with which he is continually girded. ²⁰ Let this be the reward of my adversaries from the LORD, and of those who speak evil against my soul.

⁴³ For the days shall come upon you, that your enemies shall cast a trench around you, surround you, and keep you in on every side, ⁴⁴ and shall level you even with the ground, and your children within you; and they shall not leave one stone upon another in you; because you did not know the time of your visitation."

²³ But woe to those who are with child, and to those who breastfeed in those days! For there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people. ²⁴ And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: And Jerusalem shall be trodden down by the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.

²⁶ The meek shall eat and be satisfied: They shall praise the LORD that seek Him: Your heart shall live forever.

³ But let the righteous be glad; let them rejoice before God: Yes, let them exceedingly rejoice.

³ Glory in His holy name: Let the heart of those rejoice who seek the LORD.

⁸¹ CAPH: My soul faints for Your salvation: But I hope in Your word.

¹¹¹ I have taken Your testimonies as a heritage forever: For they are the rejoicing of my heart.

¹²³ My eyes fail for Your salvation, and for the word of Your righteousness.

¹⁶⁶ LORD, I have hoped for Your salvation, and have done Your commandments. ¹⁶⁷ My soul has kept Your testimonies; and I love them exceedingly.

¹³ Therefore thus says the Lord GOD, "Behold, My servants shall eat, but you shall be hungry: Behold, My servants shall drink, but you shall be thirsty: Behold, My servants shall rejoice, but you shall be ashamed: ¹⁴ Behold, My servants shall sing for joy of heart, but you shall cry for sorrow of heart, and shall howl for vexation of spirit.

⁴⁵ Again, the kingdom of heaven is likened to a merchant man, seeking better quality pearls: ⁴⁶ Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.

⁴⁶ Then Mary said: "My soul magnifies the Lord, ⁴⁷ and my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior.

¹⁷ Moreover this was known to all the Jews and also Greeks dwelling at Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified.

⁷ But what things were gain to me, those I counted as losses for Christ. ⁸ Yes without doubt, and I count all things as loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: For whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as dung, that I may win Christ, ⁹ and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

⁵ Many, O LORD my God, are Your wonderful works which You have done, and Your thoughts which are toward us: They cannot be recounted in order to You: If I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.

⁴ Behold, God is my helper: The Lord is with those that uphold my soul.

³³ For the LORD hears the poor, and does not despise His prisoners.

⁵ But I am poor and needy: Make haste to me, O God: You are my help and my deliverer; O LORD, make no tarrying.

¹ A Prayer of David. Bow down Your ear, O LORD, hear me, for I am poor and needy.

²² For I am poor and needy, and my heart is wounded within me.

⁷ Hear me speedily, O LORD; my spirit fails: Do not hide Your face from me, lest I be like those that go down into the pit. ⁸ Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning; for I do trust in You: Cause me to know the way in which I should walk; for I lift up my soul to You.

¹⁷ When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue fails for thirst, I the LORD will hear them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them.

⁷ For the Lord GOD will help Me; therefore I shall not be confounded: Therefore I have set My face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed. ⁸ He is near who justifies Me; who will contend with Me? Let us stand together: Who is My adversary? Let him come near to Me. ⁹ Behold, the Lord GOD will help Me; who is he that shall condemn Me? See, they all shall wax old as a garment; the moth shall eat them up.

²⁰ And Jesus said to Him, "The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head."

⁹ For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that through His poverty you might be rich.

⁶ So that we may boldly say, "The LORD is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do to me."

⁵ Hearken, my beloved brethren, has not God chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which He has promised to those that love Him?

²³ Who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten; but committed Himself to Him that judges righteously:

⁷ Casting all your care upon Him; for He cares for you.

²⁰ He which testifies these things says, "Surely I come quickly." Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
