¹ A Prayer of David. Hear the right, O LORD, attend to my cry, give ear to my prayer, that does not go out of feigned lips. ² Let my sentence come forth from Your presence; let Your eyes behold the things that are equal. ³ You have proved my heart; You have visited me in the night; You have examined me, and shall find nothing; I have purposed that my mouth shall not transgress. ⁴ Concerning the works of men, by the word of Your lips I have kept myself from the paths of the destroyer. ⁵ Support my goings forth in Your paths, that my footsteps do not slip. ⁶ I have called upon You, for You will hear me, O God: Incline Your ear to me, and hear my speech. ⁷ Show Your marvelous lovingkindness, O You that saves by Your right hand those which put their trust in You from those that rise up against them. ⁸ Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of Your wings, ⁹ from the wicked that oppress me, from my deadly enemies, who compass around me. ¹⁰ They are enclosed in their own fat: With their mouth they speak proudly. ¹¹ They have now compassed us in our steps: They have set their eyes bowing down to the earth; ¹² as a lion that is voracious of his prey, and as it were a young lion lurking in secret places. ¹³ Arise, O LORD, disappoint him, cast him down: Deliver my soul from the wicked, which are Your sword: ¹⁴ From men which are Your hand, O LORD, from men of the world, which have their portion in this life, and whose belly You fill with Your hidden treasure: They are full of children, and leave the rest of their substance to their babes. ¹⁵ As for me, I will behold Your face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with Your likeness.

¹⁵ Now my eyes shall be open, and my ears attentive to the prayer that is made in this place.

⁶ Let your ear now be attentive, and your eyes open, that you may hear the prayer of your servant, which I pray before you now, day and night, for the children of Israel your servants, and confess the sins of the children of Israel, which we have sinned against you: Both I and my father's house have sinned.

² Listen to the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: For to You I will pray.

⁸ The LORD shall judge the people: Judge me, O LORD, according to my righteousness, and according to my integrity that is in me.

²⁰ The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands He has recompensed me.

⁴⁴ As soon as they hear of me, they shall obey me: The strangers shall submit themselves to me.

¹ Judge me, O God, and plead my cause against an ungodly nation: O deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man.

² Attend to me, and hear me: I mourn in my complaint, and make a noise; ³ because of the voice of the enemy, because of the oppression of the wicked: For they cast iniquity upon me, and in wrath they hate me.

¹⁹ But truly God has heard me; He has attended to the voice of my prayer.

¹ A Prayer of David. Bow down Your ear, O LORD, hear me, for I am poor and needy.

¹² I know that the LORD will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and the right of the poor.

¹ Maschil of David; A Prayer when he was in the cave. I cried out to the LORD with my voice; with my voice to the LORD did I make my supplication.

⁶ Attend to my cry; for I am brought very low: Deliver me from my persecutors; for they are stronger than I.

¹⁸ The LORD is near to all those that call upon Him, to all that call upon Him in truth.

¹³ Therefore the Lord said, "For as much as these people draw near Me with their mouths, and honor Me with their lips, but have removed their hearts far from Me, and their fear toward Me is taught by the precept of men:

¹⁰ And yet for all this her treacherous sister Judah has not turned to Me with her whole heart, but feignedly", said the LORD.

¹⁸ O my God, incline Your ear, and hear; open Your eyes, and behold our desolations, and the city which is called by Your name: For we do not present our supplications before You on account of our righteousnesses, but because of Your great mercies. ¹⁹ O Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive; O Lord, hearken and do; Defer not, for Your own sake, O my God: For Your city and Your people are called by Your name."

⁸ 'These people draw near to Me with their mouth, and honor Me with their lips; but their heart is far from Me.

⁴⁷ Jesus saw Nathanael coming to Him, and said of him, "Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile!"

²¹ Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, then we have confidence toward God.

⁶ And He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, and Your judgment as the noonday.

³³ The LORD will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged.

²⁵ Yet you say, 'The way of the LORD is not equal.' Hear now, O house of Israel; Is My way not equal? Are not your ways unequal?

²⁹ Yet the house of Israel said, 'The way of the LORD is not equal.' O house of Israel, are not My ways equal? Are not your ways unequal?

¹⁷ Yet the children of your people say, 'The way of the Lord is not equal': But as for them, their way is not equal.

²⁰ Yet you say, 'The way of the Lord is not equal.' O you house of Israel, I will judge everyone of you after his ways."

⁶ Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to those that trouble you; ⁷ and to you who are troubled, rest with us; when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, ⁸ in flaming fire taking vengeance on those that do not know God, and that do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: ⁹ Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of His power;

²⁴ Now to Him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy,

¹⁰ Behold, this day your eyes have seen how the LORD had delivered you into my hand today in the cave: And some invited me to kill you: But my eye spared you; and I said, 'I will not put forth my hand against my lord; for he is the LORD's anointed.'

¹² The LORD judge between me and you, and the LORD avenge me of you: But my hand shall not be upon you.

¹¹ The LORD forbid that I should stretch forth my hand against the LORD's anointed: But, I implore you, now take the spear that is at his head, and the cup of water, and let us go."

²³ The LORD render to every man his righteousness and his faithfulness; for the LORD delivered you into my hand today, but I would not stretch forth my hand against the LORD's anointed.

¹⁰ But he knows the way that I take: When he has tried me, I shall come forth as gold.

¹⁴ The murderer rising with the light kills the poor and needy, and in the night is as a thief.

⁴ if I have rewarded evil to him that was at peace with me; (yes, I have delivered him who without cause is my enemy):

⁵ The LORD proves the righteous through testing: But His soul hates the wicked and him that loves violence.

⁷ I will bless the LORD, who has given me counsel: My inner reins also instruct me in the night seasons.

² Examine me, O LORD, and prove me; essay my inner reins and my heart.

¹ To the chief Musician, even to Jeduthun, A Psalm of David. I said, "I will take heed to my ways, that I do not sin with my tongue: I will keep my mouth with a bridle, while the wicked are before me."

¹⁷ All this has come upon us; yet we have not forgotten You, neither have we dealt falsely in Your covenant. ¹⁸ Our heart is not turned back, neither have our steps declined from Your way; ¹⁹ though You have severely broken us in the place of dragons, and covered us with the shadow of death. ²⁰ If we have forgotten the name of our God, or outstretched our hands to a strange god; ²¹ shall not God search this out? For He knows the secrets of the heart.

¹⁰ For You, O God, have proved us: You have tried us, as silver is tried.

¹⁰⁶ I have sworn, and I will perform it, that I will keep Your righteous judgments.

¹ To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. O LORD, You have searched me, and known me.

³ He that keeps his mouth keeps his life: But he that opens wide his lips shall have destruction.

²⁰ In those days, and at that time", said the LORD, "the iniquity of Israel shall be sought for, and there shall be none; and the sins of Judah, and they shall not be found: For I will pardon them whom I preserve.

⁶ For they have made their heart ready like an oven, while they lie in wait: Their baker sleeps all through the night; in the morning it burns as a flaming fire.

¹ Woe to those that devise iniquity, and work evil upon their beds! When the morning is light, they practice it, because it is in the power of their hand.

⁹ And I will bring the one-third through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will prove them through testing as gold is proved: They shall call on My name, and I will hear them: I will say, 'It is My people': And they shall say, 'The LORD is my God.' "

² "But who may abide the day of His coming? And who shall stand when He appears? For He is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' soap:

²³ Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave to the Lord.

⁹ And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; there stood a man of Macedonia, and he implored him, saying, "Come over into Macedonia, and help us."

⁹ Then the Lord spoke to Paul in the night by a vision, "Do not be afraid, but speak, and do not hold your peace: ¹⁰ For I am with you, and no man shall lay hold on you to hurt you: For I have many people in this city."

⁴ For I know nothing by myself; yet I am not justified by this: But He that judges me is the Lord.

¹² For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly toward you.

² For in many things we offend everyone. If any man does not offend in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.

⁷ That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perishes, though it be tried with fire, might be found to praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

⁵ And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

¹¹ The earth was also corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.

¹⁶ How much more abominable and filthy is man, which drinks iniquity like water?

³³ If I covered my transgressions as Adam, by hiding my iniquity in my bosom:

¹ To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that does good. ² The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that understand, and seek God. ³ They have all gone aside, they have all together become filthy: There is none that does good, no, not one.

⁹ BETH: With what shall a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed to act according to Your word. ¹⁰ With my whole heart I have sought You: O let me not wander from Your commandments. ¹¹ I have hid Your word in my heart, that I might not sin against You.

¹⁰ When wisdom enters into your heart, and knowledge is pleasant to your soul; ¹¹ discretion shall preserve you, understanding shall keep you: ¹² To deliver you from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaks froward things; ¹³ who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness; ¹⁴ who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the frowardness of the wicked; ¹⁵ whose ways are crooked, and those froward in their paths:

⁴ But He answered and said, "It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.' "

⁷ Jesus said to him, "It is written again, 'You shall not tempt the LORD your God.' "

¹⁰ Then Jesus said to Him, "Get away from here, Satan: For it is written, 'You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only shall you serve.' "

¹⁷ Sanctify them through Your truth: Your word is truth.

³ For you are still carnal: For where there is envying, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal, and walk as men?

¹⁷ And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God:

¹⁸ Of His own will He begot us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of first-fruits of His creatures.

² that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God. ³ For the years past of our life may suffice for us to have worked the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revelries, banquetings, and abominable idolatries:

⁸ Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour:

¹¹ And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew language is Abaddon, but in the Greek language his name is Apollyon.Apollyon; that is to say, A destroyer

¹¹ And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they did not love their lives to the death.

⁹ He will keep the feet of His saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness; for by strength shall no man prevail.

¹¹ My foot has held his steps, his way have I kept, and not declined.

³⁶ You have enlarged my steps under me, that my feet did not slip.

¹⁶ For I said, "Hear me, lest otherwise they should rejoice over me: When my foot slips, they magnify themselves against me."

¹⁸ Our heart is not turned back, neither have our steps declined from Your way;

¹⁸ When I said, "My foot slips"; Your mercy, O LORD, held me up.

¹¹⁶ Uphold me according to Your word, that I may live: And let me not be ashamed of my hope. ¹¹⁷ You hold me up, and I shall be safe: And I will have respect to Your statutes continually.

¹³³ Order my steps in Your word: And do not let any iniquity have dominion over me.

³ He will not allow your foot to be moved: He that keeps you will not slumber.

⁷ The LORD shall preserve you from all evil: He shall preserve your soul.

²³ O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: It is not in man who walks to direct his steps.

³ Consider and hear me, O LORD my God: Lighten my eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death; ⁴ lest my enemy say, "I have prevailed against him"; and those that trouble me rejoice when I am moved.

¹⁶ As for me, I will call upon God; and the LORD shall save me.

¹⁹ But truly God has heard me; He has attended to the voice of my prayer. ²⁰ Blessed be God, which has not turned away my prayer, nor His mercy from me.

⁷ In the day of my trouble I will call upon You: For You will answer me.

² Let my prayer come before You: Incline Your ear to my cry;

² Because He has inclined His ear to me, therefore I will call upon Him as long as I live.

¹⁷ Incline your ear, O LORD, and hear; open your eyes, O LORD, and see: And hear all the words of Sennacherib, which he has sent to reproach the living God.

²⁰ Now therefore, O LORD our God, save us from his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that You are the LORD, even You only."

¹⁷ Now therefore, O our God, hear the prayer of Your servant, and his supplications, and cause Your face to shine upon Your sanctuary that is desolate, for the Lord's sake.

⁶ Your right hand, O LORD, has become glorious in power: Your right hand, O LORD, has dashed the enemy in pieces.

⁴⁵ Then David said to the Philistine, "You come to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: But I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. ⁴⁶ This day the LORD will deliver you into my hand; and I will smite you, and take your head from you; and I will give the carcasses of the army of the Philistines this day to the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. ⁴⁷ And all this assembly shall know that the LORD does not save with sword and spear: For the battle is the LORD's, and He will give you into our hands." ⁴⁸ And it came to pass, when the Philistine arose, and came, and drew near to meet David, that David hastened, and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine. ⁴⁹ And David put his hand in his bag, and took from there a stone, and slung it, and smote the Philistine in his forehead, that the stone sunk into his forehead; and he fell upon his face to the earth. ⁵⁰ So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone, and smote the Philistine, and slew him; but there was no sword in the hand of David. ⁵¹ Therefore David ran, and stood upon the Philistine, and took his sword, and drew it out of its sheath, and slew him, and cut off his head with it. And when the Philistines saw their champion was dead, they fled. ⁵² And the men of Israel and of Judah arose, and shouted, and pursued the Philistines, until they came to the valley, and to the gates of Ekron. And the wounded of the Philistines fell down by the road to Shaaraim, even to Gath, and to Ekron. ⁵³ And the children of Israel returned from chasing after the Philistines, and they spoiled their tents. ⁵⁴ And David took the head of the Philistine, and brought it to Jerusalem; but he put his armor in his tent. ⁵⁵ And when Saul saw David go forth against the Philistine, he said to Abner, the captain of the host, "Abner, whose son is this youth?" And Abner said, "As your soul lives, O king, I cannot tell." ⁵⁶ And the king said, "Inquire whose son the young man is." ⁵⁷ And as David returned from the slaughter of the Philistine, Abner took him, and brought him before Saul with the head of the Philistine in his hand.

²⁸ I implore you, forgive the trespass of your handmaid: For the LORD will certainly make my lord a sure house; because my lord fights the battles of the LORD, and evil has not been found in you all your days. ²⁹ Yet a man is risen to pursue you, and to seek your soul: But the soul of my lord shall be bound in the bundle of life with the LORD your God; and the souls of your enemies, those ones He shall sling out, as out of the middle of a sling.

²² Whom have you reproached and blasphemed? And against whom have you exalted your voice, and lifted up your eyes on high? Even against the Holy One of Israel.

³⁴ For I will defend this city, to save it, for my own sake, and for my servant David's sake.

⁹ For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein you have done foolishly: Therefore from now on you shall have wars.

¹¹ But let all those that put their trust in You rejoice: Let them shout for joy forevermore, because You defend them: Also let those that love Your name be joyful in You. ¹² For You, LORD, will bless the righteous; with favor You will compass around him, as with a shield.

¹² Arise, O LORD; O God, lift up Your hand: Do not forget the humble. ¹³ Why does the wicked scorn God? He has said in his heart, "You will not require it." ¹⁴ You have seen it; for You behold mischief and spite, to recompense it with Your hand: The poor commits himself to You; You are the helper of the fatherless. ¹⁵ Break the arm of the wicked and the evil man: Seek out his wickedness until You find none. ¹⁶ The LORD is King forever and ever: The heathen have perished out of His land.

⁶ Now know that I the LORD saves His anointed; He will hear him from His holy heaven with the saving strength of His right hand.

²¹ Blessed be the LORD: For He has showed me His marvelous kindness in a strong city.

³ For they did not get the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: But Your right hand, and Your arm, and the light of Your countenance, because You brought to pass a favor to them.

⁵ That Your beloved may be delivered; save with Your right hand, and hear me.

¹² He did marvelous things in the sight of their fathers, in the land of Egypt, in the field of Zoan.

¹⁰ Fear not; for I am with you: Be not dismayed; for I am your God: I will strengthen you; yes, I will help you; yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of My righteousness.'

³³ Therefore being exalted by the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He has shed forth this, which you now see and hear.

²⁰ Moreover the law entered, that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: ²¹ That as sin has reigned to death, even so might grace reign through righteousness to eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

³ And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, "Great and marvelous are Your works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are Your ways, You King of saints.

¹⁰ He found him in a desert land, and in the waste howling wilderness; he led him about, he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye.

¹² The LORD recompense your work, and a full reward be given you from the LORD God of Israel, under Whose wings you have come to trust."

⁷ How excellent is your lovingkindness, O God! Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Your wings.

¹ To the chief Musician, Altaschith; Michtam of David, when he fled from Saul in the cave. Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me: For my soul trusts in You: Yes, in the shadow of Your wings I will make my refuge, until these calamities are over.

⁴ I will abide in Your tabernacle forever: I will trust in the protection of Your wings. Selah.

⁷ Because You have been my help, therefore in the shadow of Your wings I will rejoice.

¹ He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

⁴ He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings shall you trust: His truth shall be your shield and buckler.

² Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of your eye.

⁸ For thus says the LORD of hosts; "After the glory, He has sent me to the nations which plundered you: For he that touches you touches the apple of His eye.

³⁷ O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you that kill the prophets, and stone those which are sent to you; how often I would have gathered your children together, even as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing!

¹¹ Moreover, my father, see, yes, see the skirt of your robe in my hand: For in that I cut off the skirt of your robe, and I did not kill you, know and see that there is neither evil nor transgression in my hand, and I have not sinned against you; yet you hunt my soul to take it.

⁹ Also I will ordain a place for My people Israel, and will plant them, and they shall dwell in their place, and shall be moved no more; neither shall the children of wickedness waste them any more, as at the beginning,

⁵ Let the enemy persecute my soul, and take it; yes, let him tread down my life upon the earth, and lay my honor in the dust. Selah.

²⁰ You shall hide them in the secret of Your presence from the pride of man: You shall keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.

⁴ Let them be confounded and put to shame that seek after my soul: Let them be turned back and brought to confusion that devise my hurt.

⁷ For without cause they have hid their net in a pit for me, and without cause they have dug for my soul.

¹² They rewarded me evil for good to the spoiling of my soul.

² And Pharaoh said, "Who is the LORD, that I should obey His voice to let Israel go? I do not know the LORD, neither will I let Israel go."

⁹ The enemy said, 'I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my lust shall be satisfied upon them; I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them.'

¹⁵ But Jeshurun waxed fat, and kicked: You are waxen fat, you are grown thick, you are covered with fatness; then he forsook God which made him, and lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation.

³ Do not talk so exceedingly proudly; let not arrogance proceed out of your mouth: For the LORD is a God of knowledge, and by Him actions are weighed.

²⁷ Because he covers his face with his fatness, and makes bulges of fat on his flanks.

³ The LORD shall cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that speaks proud things: ⁴ Who have said, "With our tongue we will prevail; our lips are our own: Who is lord over us?"our own: In Hebrew, with us

¹⁸ Let the lying lips be put to silence; which speak grievous things proudly and contemptuously against the righteous.

⁷ Their eyes stand out with fatness: They have more than heart could wish. ⁸ They are corrupt, and speak wickedly concerning oppression: They speak loftily. ⁹ They set their mouth against the heavens, and their tongue walks through the earth.

⁷⁰ Their heart is as fat as grease; but I delight in Your law.

⁴ Our soul is exceedingly filled with the scorning of those who are at ease, and with the contempt of the proud.

¹⁰ Make the heart of this people dull, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed."

¹⁵ For this people's heart is waxed over, and their ears are dull of hearing, and they have closed their eyes; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.'

²⁷ For the heart of this people is waxed over, and their ears are dull of hearing, and they have closed their eyes; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them." '

¹⁸ For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that had truly escaped from those who live in error.

⁵ And there was given to him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given to him to continue for forty-two months. ⁶ And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, and His tabernacle, and those that dwell in heaven.

²⁶ And Saul went on this side of the mountain, and David and his men on that side of the mountain: And David made haste to get away for fear of Saul; for Saul and his men compassed all around David and his men to take them.

² Then Saul took three thousand chosen men out of all Israel, and went to seek David and his men upon the rocks of the wild goats. ³ And he came to the sheep pens by the pathway, where there was a cave; and Saul went in to cover his feet: And David and his men remained in the sides of the cave.

² Then Saul arose, and went down to the wilderness of Ziph, having three thousand chosen men of Israel with him, to seek David in the wilderness of Ziph. ³ And Saul pitched in the hill of Hachilah, which is before Jeshimon, by the highway. But David abode in the wilderness, and he saw that Saul came after him into the wilderness.

⁸ He sits in the lurking places of the villages: In the secret places he murders the innocent: His eyes are privately set against the poor. ⁹ He lies in wait secretly as a lion in his den: He lies in wait to catch the poor: He does catch the poor, when he draws him into his net. ¹⁰ He crouches, and humbles himself, that the poor may fall by his strong ones.

¹⁴ The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, and to slay such as are of upright conversation.

¹⁷ They came all around me like water daily; together they compassed around me.

¹³ He winks with his eyes, he speaks with his feet, he teaches with his fingers; ¹⁴ frowardness is in his heart, he devises mischief continually; he sows discord.

² Lest he tear my soul like a lion, rending it in pieces, while there is none to deliver.

⁹ He lies in wait secretly as a lion in his den: He lies in wait to catch the poor: He does catch the poor, when he draws him into his net.

¹³ They gaped upon Me with their mouths, as a ravening and a roaring lion.

¹⁷ But the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that the preaching by me might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: And I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.

⁷ Arise, O LORD; save me, O my God: For You have smitten all my enemies upon the cheek bone; You have broken the teeth of the ungodly.

⁶ Arise, O LORD, in Your anger, lift up Yourself because of the rage of my enemies: And awake for me, to the judgment that You have commanded.

¹¹ God judges the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day. ¹² If he does not turn, He will whet his sword; He has bent His bow, and made it ready. ¹³ He has also prepared for Himself the instruments of death; He ordains His arrows against the persecutors.

²⁰ Deliver My soul from the sword; My darling self from the power of the dog.

²³ Awake, why do You sleep, O Lord? Arise, do not cast us off forever.

²⁶ Arise for our help, and redeem us for Your mercies' sake.

¹²⁶ It is time for You, LORD, to work: For they have made void Your law.

⁵ O Assyrian, the rod of My anger, and the staff in their hand is My indignation.

¹⁵ Shall the ax boast itself against him who chops with it? Or shall the saw magnify itself against him that shakes it? As if the rod should shake itself against those that lift it up, or as if the staff should lift itself up, as if it were not wood.

⁵ They come from a far country, from the end of heaven, even the LORD, and the weapons of His indignation, to destroy the whole land.

²⁶ Have you not heard long ago, how I have done it; and of ancient times, that I have formed it? Now I have brought it to pass, that you should lay waste defended cities into ruinous heaps.

⁹ Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the LORD; awake, as in the ancient days, in the generations of old. Was it not You who cut Rahab, and wounded the dragon?

¹² Are You not from everlasting, O LORD my God, my Holy One? We shall not die. O LORD, You have ordained them for judgment; and, O mighty God, You have established them for correction.

²⁸ to do whatever Your hand and Your counsel determined beforehand to be done.

⁶ The tabernacles of robbers prosper, and those that provoke God are secure; into whose hand God brings abundantly.

⁹ Who knows not in all these that the hand of the LORD has worked this?

⁷ Why do the wicked live, become old, yes, are mighty in power? ⁸ Their seed is established in their sight with them, and their offspring before their eyes. ⁹ Their houses are safe from fear, neither is the rod of God on them. ¹⁰ Their bull engenders, and fails not; their cow calves, and casts not her calf. ¹¹ They send forth their little ones like a flock, and their children dance. ¹² They take the tambourine and harp, and rejoice at the sound of the organ. ¹³ They spend their days in wealth, and in a moment go down to the grave. ¹⁴ Therefore they say to God, Depart from us; for we desire not the knowledge of your ways. ¹⁵ What is the Almighty, that we should serve him? And what profit should we have, if we pray to him?

²¹ For what pleasure has he in his house after him, when the number of his months is cut off in the middle?

¹⁸ Yet he filled their houses with good things: But the counsel of the ungodly is far from me.

¹⁴ If his children be multiplied, it is for the sword: And his offspring shall not be satisfied with bread. ¹⁵ Those that remain of him shall be buried in death: And his widows shall not weep. ¹⁶ Though he heap up silver as the dust, and prepare clothing as the clay; ¹⁷ he may prepare it, but the just shall put it on, and the innocent shall divide the silver.

⁶ Surely every man walks in a vain show: Surely they are disquieted in vain: He heaps up riches, and does not know who shall gather them.

¹⁷ for when he dies he shall carry nothing away: His glory shall not descend after him. ¹⁸ Though while he lived he blessed his soul: And men will praise you when you do well to yourself. ¹⁹ He shall go to the generation of his fathers; they shall never see light.

³ For I was envious at the foolish, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked. ⁴ For there are no chains in their death: But their strength is firm. ⁵ They are not in trouble as other men; neither are they plagued like other men. ⁶ Therefore pride compasses them about as a chain; violence covers them as a garment. ⁷ Their eyes stand out with fatness: They have more than heart could wish.

¹² Behold, these are the ungodly, who prosper in the world; they increase in riches.

⁴ if you seek her as silver, and search for her as for hidden treasures;

⁴⁴ Again, the kingdom of heaven is likened to treasure hid in a field; which when a man has found it, he hides it, and out of joy over it he goes and sells all that he has, and buys that field.

¹⁹ And I will say to my soul, "Soul, you have a great many goods laid up for many years; take your ease, eat, drink, and be merry." ' ²⁰ But God said to him, 'You fool, this night your soul shall be required of you: Then whose shall those things be, which you have provided?' ²¹ So is he that lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God."

⁸ Yet the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: For the children of this world in their generation are wiser than the children of light.

²⁵ But Abraham said, 'Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things; but now he is comforted, and you are tormented.

²⁷ Then he said, 'I beseech you therefore, father, that you would send him to my father's house: ²⁸ For I have five brothers; that he may testify to them, lest they also come into this place of torment.'

²³ And He said to them, "You are from beneath; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world.

¹⁹ If you were of the world, the world would love his own: But because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.

¹⁴ I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

⁵ You have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; you have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter.

⁴ You are of God, little children, and have overcome them: Because greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world. ⁵ They are of the world: Therefore they speak of the world, and the world hears them.

²⁶ And God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness: And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the domestic beasts, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth." ²⁷ So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

⁸ With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the LORD shall he behold: Why then were you not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?

¹⁵ And if it seem evil to you to serve the LORD, choose this day whom you will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell: But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

¹² So man lies down, and rises not: Till heaven be no more, they shall not awake, nor be raised out of their sleep.

²⁶ And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God: ²⁷ Whom I shall see for myself, and my eyes shall behold, and not another; though my reins be consumed within me.

⁶ There are many that say, "Who will show us any good?" LORD, lift up the light of Your countenance upon us. ⁷ You have put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their grain and their wine increased.

⁷ But as for me, I will come into Your house in the multitude of Your mercy: And in Your fear I will worship toward Your holy temple.

⁷ For the righteous LORD loves righteousness; His countenance beholds the upright.

¹¹ You will show me the path of life: In Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand there are pleasures forevermore.

⁸ They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of Your house; and You shall make them drink of the river of Your pleasures. ⁹ For with You is the fountain of life: In Your light we shall see light.

¹⁴ Like sheep they are laid in the grave; death shall feed on them; and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their beauty shall consume in the grave from their dwelling.

⁴ Blessed is the man whom You choose, and cause to approach to You, that he may dwell in Your courts: We shall be satisfied with the goodness of Your house, even of Your holy temple.

¹¹¹ I have taken Your testimonies as a heritage forever: For they are the rejoicing of my heart.

¹⁹ Your dead men shall live, together with my dead body they shall arise. Awake and sing, you who dwell in dust: For your dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead.

⁶ Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness: For they shall be filled.

⁵² and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, ⁵³ and came out of the graves after His resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared to many.

¹⁸ But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

²¹ Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able to even subdue all things to Himself.

² Beloved, now we are the sons of God, and it does not yet appear what we shall be: But we know that when He appears, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is. ³ And every man that has this hope in Him purifies himself, even as He is pure.

¹⁶ They shall hunger no more, neither thirst anymore; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. ¹⁷ For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them to living fountains of waters: And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes."

³ And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, "Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself shall be with them, and be their God. ⁴ And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: For the former things are passed away."

²³ And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: For the glory of God illuminates it, and the Lamb is the light of it.
