¹ Then Jesus entered and passed through Jericho. ² And behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus, who was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich. ³ And he sought to see Jesus, who He was, but could not because of the pressing multitude, for he was little in stature. ⁴ Therefore he ran ahead, and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see Him: For He was to pass that way. ⁵ And when Jesus came to the place, He looked up and saw him, and said to him, "Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for today I must abide at your house." ⁶ Then he made haste, and came down, and received Him joyfully. ⁷ Yet when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, "He has gone to be a guest with a man who is a sinner." ⁸ Now Zacchaeus stood, and said to the Lord; "Behold, Lord, I give half of my goods to the poor; and if I have taken anything from anyone by false accusation, I restore him fourfold." ⁹ And Jesus said to him, "This day salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham. ¹⁰ For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost." ¹¹ Now as they heard these things, He added and spoke another parable, because He was near Jerusalem, and because they thought that the kingdom of God should immediately appear. ¹² Therefore He said, "A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return. ¹³ Also he called his ten servants, delivered to them ten pounds of silver, and said to them, 'Occupy until I come.'pounds: Greek or Attic mina, here translated as pound, is estimated at ~15.2 oz or ~431 grams per Encyclopedia Britannica ¹⁴ But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, 'We will not have this man to reign over us.' ¹⁵ And it came to pass, that when he returned, having received the kingdom, he then commanded these servants to be called to him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading. ¹⁶ Then came the first, saying, 'Lord, your pound has gained ten pounds.' ¹⁷ And he said to him, 'Well done, good servant: Because you have been faithful in a very little, you have authority over ten cities.' ¹⁸ And the second came, saying, 'Lord, your pound has gained five pounds.' ¹⁹ And He said likewise to him, 'You also be over five cities.' ²⁰ Then another came, saying, 'Lord, behold, here is your pound of silver, which I have kept laid up in a napkin: ²¹ For I feared you, because you are an austere man: You take up that which you did not lay down, and reap what you did not sow.' ²² And he said to him, 'Out of your own mouth I will judge you, you wicked servant. You knew that I was an austere man, taking up that which I did not lay down, and reaping what I did not sow: ²³ Why then did you not give my money into the bank, that at my coming I might have claimed my own with interest?' ²⁴ And he said to those that stood by, 'Take the pound of silver from him, and give it to him that has ten pounds.' ²⁵ (Then they said to him, 'Lord, he has ten pounds of silver.') ²⁶ For I say to you, That to everyone who has, more shall be given; and from him that does not have, even what he has shall be taken away from him. ²⁷ But bring here those enemies of mine, who were not willing that I reign over them, and slay them before me.' " ²⁸ Then after He had spoken this, He went in front, ascending up to Jerusalem. ²⁹ And it came to pass, when He drew near to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mountain called The Mount of Olives, that He sent two of His disciples, ³⁰ saying, "Go into the village before you; in which you shall find a colt tied upon your entering, on which no one has ever sat: Loose him, and bring him here. ³¹ And if anyone asks you, 'Why are you loosing him?'; this is what you shall say to him, 'Because the Lord has need of him.' " ³² And those that were sent went their way, and found it exactly as He had said to them. ³³ Moreover, as they were loosing the colt, the owners of him said to them, "Why are you loosing the colt?" ³⁴ And they said, "The Lord has need of him." ³⁵ And they brought him to Jesus: And they cast their clothes upon the colt, and they set Jesus on him. ³⁶ And as He went, they spread their clothes on the road. ³⁷ And when He was drawing near, even now at the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen; ³⁸ saying, " 'Blessed be the King that comes in the name of the LORD': Peace in heaven, and glory in the highest." ³⁹ And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said to Him, "Master, rebuke Your disciples." ⁴⁰ And He answered and said to them, "I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out." ⁴¹ And when He drew near, He beheld the city, and wept over it, ⁴² saying, "If you had known, even you, at least in this day, the things which relate to your peace! But now they are hid from your eyes. ⁴³ For the days shall come upon you, that your enemies shall cast a trench around you, surround you, and keep you in on every side, ⁴⁴ and shall level you even with the ground, and your children within you; and they shall not leave one stone upon another in you; because you did not know the time of your visitation." ⁴⁵ Then He went into the temple, and began to drive out those who sold in it, and those who bought; ⁴⁶ saying to them, "It is written, 'My house is the house of prayer': But you have made it a 'den of thieves.' " ⁴⁷ And He taught daily in the temple. But the chief priests, the scribes, and the chief of the people sought to destroy Him, ⁴⁸ and could not find what they might do: For all the people were very attentive to hear Him.

¹ And Joshua the son of Nun sent out of Shittim two men to spy secretly, saying, "Go view the land, even Jericho. And they went, and came into a harlot's house, named Rahab, and lodged there.

¹ Now Jericho was strictly shut up because of the children of Israel: None went out, and none came in. ² And the LORD said to Joshua, "See, I have given Jericho into your hand, and its king, and the mighty men of valor. ³ And you all shall compass the city, all you men of war, and go all around the city once. Thus you shall do six days. ⁴ And seven priests shall carry before the ark seven trumpets of rams' horns: And the seventh day you all shall compass the city seven times, and the priests shall blow with the trumpets. ⁵ And it shall come to pass, that when they make a long blast with the ram's horn, and when you all hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall ascend up, every man, straight before him." ⁶ And Joshua the son of Nun called the priests, and said to them, "Take up the ark of the covenant, and let seven priests carry seven trumpets of rams' horns before the ark of the LORD." ⁷ And he said to the people, "Pass on, and compass the city, and let him that is armed pass on before the ark of the LORD." ⁸ And it came to pass, when Joshua had spoken to the people, that the seven priests carrying the seven trumpets of rams' horns passed on before the LORD, and blew with the trumpets: And the ark of the covenant of the LORD followed them. ⁹ And the armed men went before the priests that blew with the trumpets, and the rear-guard came after the ark, the priests going onward, and blowing with the trumpets. ¹⁰ And Joshua had commanded the people, saying, "You all shall not shout, nor make any noise with your voice, neither shall any word proceed out of your mouth, until the day I bid you to shout; then you all shall shout." ¹¹ So the ark of the LORD compassed the city, going about it once: And they came into the camp, and lodged in the camp. ¹² And Joshua rose early in the morning, and the priests took up the ark of the LORD. ¹³ And seven priests carrying seven trumpets of rams' horns before the ark of the LORD went on continually, and blew with the trumpets: And the armed men went before them; but the rear-guard came after the ark of the LORD, the priests going onward, and blowing with the trumpets. ¹⁴ And the second day they compassed the city once, and returned into the camp: So they did six days. ¹⁵ And it came to pass on the seventh day, that they rose early about the dawning of the day, and compassed the city in the same manner for the seventh time that week: Only on that day they proceeded to compass the city seven times in a row. ¹⁶ And it came to pass on the seventh time around for the day, when the priests blew with the trumpets, Joshua said to the people, "Shout; for the LORD has given you the city. ¹⁷ And the city shall be accursed, even it and all that are in it, to the LORD: Only Rahab the harlot shall live, she and all that are with her in the house, because she hid the messengers that we sent. ¹⁸ As for all of you, at the very least keep yourselves from the accursed thing, lest you all make yourselves accursed, when you all take of the accursed thing, and make the camp of Israel a curse, and trouble it. ¹⁹ But all the silver, and gold, and vessels of brass and iron, are consecrated to the LORD: They shall come into the treasury of the LORD." ²⁰ So the people shouted when the priests blew with the trumpets: And it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city. ²¹ And they utterly destroyed all that was in the city, both man and woman, young and old, and ox, and sheep, and donkey, with the edge of the sword. ²² But Joshua had said to the two men that had spied out the country, "Go into the harlot's house, and bring the woman out from there, and all that she has, as you both swore to her." ²³ And the young men that were spies went in, and brought out Rahab, and her father, and her mother, and her brothers, and all that she had; and they brought out all her kindred, and left them outside the camp of Israel. ²⁴ And they burned the city with fire, and all that was in it: Only the silver, and the gold, and the vessels of brass and of iron, they put into the treasury of the house of the LORD. ²⁵ And Joshua saved Rahab the harlot alive, and her father's household, and all that she had; and she dwells in Israel even to this day; because she hid the messengers, which Joshua sent to spy out Jericho. ²⁶ And Joshua adjured them at that time, saying, "Cursed be the man before the LORD, that rises up and builds this city Jericho: He shall lay its foundation in his firstborn, and in his youngest son he shall set up the gates of it." ²⁷ So the LORD was with Joshua; and his fame was noised throughout all the country.

³⁴ In his days did Hiel the Bethelite build Jericho: He laid its foundation in Abiram his firstborn, and set up its gates in his youngest son Segub, according to the word of the LORD, which he spoke by Joshua the son of Nun.

¹⁸ And when they came again to him, (for he tarried at Jericho), he said to them, "Did I not say to you, Go not? ¹⁹ And the men of the city said to Elisha, "Behold, I implore you, the situation of this city is pleasant, as my lord sees: But the water is naught, and the ground barren. ²⁰ And he said, "Bring me a new jar, and put salt in it. And they brought it to him. ²¹ And he went forth to the spring of the waters, and cast the salt in there, and said, "Thus says the LORD, I have healed these waters; there shall not be from there any more death or barren land. ²² So the waters were healed to this day, according to the saying of Elisha which he spoke.

³⁵ Now it came to pass, that as He was coming near Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the roadside begging:

⁵ Therefore the LORD established the kingdom in his hand; and all Judah brought to Jehoshaphat presents; and he had riches and honor in abundance. ⁶ And his heart was lifted up in the ways of the LORD: Moreover he took away the high places and groves out of Judah.

²⁴ And when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful, He said, "How hardly shall those that have riches enter into the kingdom of God! ²⁵ For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God." ²⁶ And those who heard it said, "Who then can be saved?" ²⁷ And He said, "The things which are impossible with men are possible with God."

⁷ Now Herod the tetrarch heard of all that was done by Him: And he was perplexed, because it was said by some, that John was risen from the dead; ⁸ and by some, that Elijah had appeared; and by others, that one of the old prophets was risen again. ⁹ And Herod said, "John I have beheaded: But who is this, of whom I hear such things?" And he desired to see Him.

²⁵ And which of you with taking thought can add one cubit to his stature?1 Roman cubit is approximately 17.4 inches, or 44.2 centimeters.

⁸ Moreover when Herod saw Jesus, he was exceedingly glad: For he had desired for a long time to see Him, because he had heard many things about Him; and he hoped to have seen some miracle done by Him.

²¹ The same then came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida of Galilee, and implored him, saying, "Sir, we would like to see Jesus."

²⁷ And the king made silver to be in Jerusalem as stones, and cedars made he to be as the sycomore trees that are in the valley, for abundance.

²⁸ And over the olive trees and the sycomore trees that were in the low plains was Baalhanan the Gederite: And over the cellars of oil was Joash:

⁴⁷ He destroyed their vines with hail, and their sycomore trees with frost.

¹⁰ "The bricks have fallen down, but we will build with hewn stones: The sycomores are cut down, but we will change them into cedars."

¹⁴ Then Amos answered, and said to Amaziah, "I was not a prophet, neither was I a prophet's son; but I was a herdsman, and a gatherer of sycomore fruit:sycomore fruit; or, wild figs

¹⁹ And when they could not find by what means they might bring him in because of the multitude, they went upon the housetop, and let him down through the tiling with his bed into the midst before Jesus.

³ and said, "My Lord, if now I have found favor in your sight, do not pass on by, I implore you, from your servant: ⁴ Let a little water, I implore you, be fetched, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree: ⁵ And I will fetch a morsel of bread, and comfort your hearts; after that you shall pass on: For such a reason you have come to your servant. And they said, "So do, as you have said."

¹ And there came two angels to Sodom at sunset; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: And Lot seeing them rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground; ² and he said, "Behold now, my lords, turn in, I implore you, into your servant's house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and you shall rise up early, and go on your way." And they said, "No; but we will abide in the street all night." ³ And he pressed upon them greatly; and they turned in to him, and entered into his house; and he made them a feast, and baked unleavened bread, and they ate.

² I will behave wisely myself in a perfect way. O when will You come to me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart. ³ I will set no wicked thing before my eyes: I have hated the work of those who turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.

⁴⁸ Nathanael said to Him, "From where do You know me?" Jesus answered and said to him, "Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you."

⁷ There came a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus said to her, "Give Me a drink." ⁸ (For His disciples had gone away to the city to buy food.) ⁹ Then the woman of Samaria said to Him, "How is it that You, being a Jew, ask for a drink from me, who am a woman of Samaria?" For the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans. ¹⁰ Jesus answered and said to her, "If you knew the gift of God, and who it is that says to you, 'Give Me a drink'; you would have asked of Him, and He would have given you living water."

²³ Jesus answered and said to him, "If a man loves Me, he will keep My words: And My Father will love him, and We will come to him, and make Our abode with him.

¹ We then, as workers together with Him, beseech you also that you do not receive the grace of God in vain.

¹⁷ that Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love,

² Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: For by doing that some have entertained angels without being aware.

²⁰ Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: If any man hears My voice, and opens the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with Me.

⁶ And Abraham hastened into the tent to Sarah, and said, "Quickly make ready three measures of fine meal, knead it, and make cakes upon the hearth." ⁷ And Abraham ran to the herd, and fetched a tender and good calf, and gave it to a young man; and he hastened to dress it.

⁵⁹ I thought upon my ways, and turned my feet to Your testimonies. ⁶⁰ I made haste, and did not delay to keep Your commandments.

⁵ You meet him who rejoices and works righteousness, those who remember You in Your ways: Behold, You are wroth; for we have sinned: In those is continuance, and we shall be saved.

¹⁶ And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the Babe lying in a manger.

²⁹ Levi also made Him a great feast in his own house: And there were a large number of publicans and others who sat down with them.

⁴¹ Then those that gladly received his word were baptized: And the same day there were about three thousand souls added to them.

¹⁵ And when she was baptized, and her household, she implored us, saying, "If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and abide there." Therefore she compelled us.

³⁴ Then when he had brought them into his house, he set food before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house.

¹⁵ But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by His grace, ¹⁶ to reveal His Son in me, that I might preach Him among the heathen; I did not immediately confer with flesh and blood:

¹¹ And when the Pharisees saw it, they said to His disciples, "Why does your Master eat with publicans and sinners?"

²⁸ But what do you think? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, 'Son, go work today in my vineyard.' ²⁹ He answered and said, 'I will not': But afterward he repented, and went. ³⁰ Then he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, 'I will go, sir': And did not go. ³¹ Which of those two did the will of his father?" They said to Him, "The first." Jesus said to them, "Truly I say to you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.

³⁰ But their scribes and Pharisees murmured against His disciples, saying, "Why do You eat and drink with publicans and sinners?"

³⁴ The Son of Man has come eating and drinking; and you say, 'Behold a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners!'

³⁹ Now when the Pharisee who had invited Him saw this, he spoke within himself, saying, "This Man, if He were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that touches Him: For she is a sinner."

² And the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, "This Man receives sinners, and eats with them."

⁹ Moreover He spoke this parable to certain ones who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others: ¹⁰ "Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. ¹¹ The Pharisee stood and prayed in this manner with himself, 'God, I thank You that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. ¹² I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.' ¹³ And the publican, standing afar off, would not so much as lift up his eyes to heaven, but smote his breast, saying, 'God, be merciful to me a sinner.' ¹⁴ I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: For everyone who exalts himself shall be abased; and he that humbles himself shall be exalted."

¹⁶ You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

¹ "If a man shall steal an ox, or a sheep, and kill it, or sell it; he shall restore five oxen for an ox, and four sheep for a sheep.sheep; or, goat ² If a thief is found breaking in, and is smitten such that he dies, there shall be no blood shed for him. ³ If the sun is risen upon him, there shall be blood shed for him; for he should make full restitution; if he has nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft. ⁴ If the stolen thing is in fact found alive in his hand, whether it be ox, or donkey, or sheep; he shall restore double.

¹ And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, ² if a soul sin, and commit a trespass against the LORD, and lie to his neighbor in that which was delivered him to keep, or in fellowship, or in a thing taken away by violence, or has deceived his neighbor; ³ or have found that which was lost, and lies concerning it, and swears falsely; in any of all these that a man does, sinning in it: ⁴ Then it shall be, because he has sinned, and is guilty, that he shall restore that which he took violently away, or the thing which he has deceitfully gotten, or that which was delivered him to keep, or the lost thing which he found, ⁵ or all that about which he has sworn falsely; he shall even restore it in the principal, and shall add the fifth part more thereto, and give it to him to whom it appertains, in the day of his trespass offering. ⁶ And he shall bring his trespass offering to the LORD, a ram without blemish out of the flock, with your estimation, for a trespass offering, to the priest:

⁷ then they shall confess their sin which they have done: And he shall recompense his trespass with its principal, and add to it the fifth part of it, and give it to him against whom he has trespassed.

³ Behold, here I am: Witness against me before the LORD, and before his anointed: Whose ox have I taken? Or whose donkey have I taken? Or whom have I defrauded? Whom have I oppressed? Or from whose hand have I received any bribe to blind my eyes with it? And I will restore it to you.

⁶ And he shall restore the lamb fourfold, because he did this thing, and because he had no pity.

¹ To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. Blessed is he that considers the poor: The LORD will deliver him in time of trouble.

³¹ but if he is found, he shall restore sevenfold; he shall give all the substance of his house.

⁸ Therefore bring forth fruits worthy of repentance, and do not begin to say within yourselves, 'We have Abraham as our father': For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones. ⁹ And even now the axe is laid to the root of the trees: Every tree therefore which does not bring forth good fruit is cut down, and cast into the fire." ¹⁰ Therefore the people asked him, saying, "What shall we do then?" ¹¹ He answered and said to them, "He who has two coats, let him give to him who has none; and he who has food, let him do likewise." ¹² Then publicans also came to be baptized, and said to him, "Master, what shall we do?" ¹³ And he said to them, "Require no more than that which is appointed to you." ¹⁴ Likewise the soldiers demanded of him, saying, "And what shall we do?" And he said to them, "Do violence to no man, nor accuse anyone falsely; and be content with your wages."

¹³ And when the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her, and said to her, "Do not weep."

⁴¹ But rather give alms of such things as you have; and behold, all things are clean to you.

³³ Sell what you have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which do not wax old, a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches, neither moth corrupts.

⁹ And I say to you, Make for yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that when you fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations.

²² Now when Jesus heard these things, He said to him, "You still lack one thing: Sell all that you have, and distribute to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven: And come, follow Me." ²³ And when he heard this, he was very sorrowful: For he was very rich.

⁴⁴ Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common; ⁴⁵ and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them to all men, as every man had need. ⁴⁶ And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, ate their food with gladness and singleness of heart,

³⁴ Neither was there any among them who lacked: For as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the proceeds of the things that were sold, ³⁵ and laid them down at the apostles' feet: And distribution was made to every man accordingly as he had need.

⁷ Therefore, as you abound in everything, in faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love to us, see that you abound in this grace also. ⁸ I speak not by commandment, but by occasion of the confidence of others, and to prove the sincerity of your love.

¹⁷ Charge those that are rich in this world, that they are not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy; ¹⁸ that they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;

¹⁰ But the rich, in that he is made low: Because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away. ¹¹ For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, then it withers the grass, and the flower thereof falls, and the grace of its fashion perishes: So also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.

³⁰ For my eyes have seen Your salvation,

⁸ Therefore bring forth fruits worthy of repentance, and do not begin to say within yourselves, 'We have Abraham as our father': For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones.

¹⁶ And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound, look, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath day?"

³⁰ And behold, there are last who shall be first, and there are first who shall be last."

³⁸ I sent you to reap that which you have not bestowed any labor: Other men labored, and you have entered into their labors." ³⁹ And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on Him because of the words of the woman, who testified, "He told me everything that I ever did." ⁴⁰ So when the Samaritans came to Him, they implored Him that he would tarry with them: And He abode there two days. ⁴¹ And many more believed because of His own word; ⁴² Then they said to the woman, "Now we believe, not because of your speech: For we have heard Him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world."

³⁰ And brought them out, and said, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" ³¹ And they said, "Believe upon the Lord Jesus Christ, and you shall be saved, and your house." ³² Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him, and to all that were in his house.

¹¹ And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had while still uncircumcised: That he might be the father of all those who believe, though they are not circumcised; that righteousness might be imputed to them also: ¹² And the father of circumcision to those who not only are of the circumcision, but who also walk in the steps of that faith of our father Abraham, which he had while still uncircumcised.

¹⁶ Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; with the intent the promise might be certain to all the seed; not only to those which are of the law, but also to those which are of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,

⁹ Do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, ¹⁰ nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. ¹¹ And such were some of you: But you are washed, but you are sanctified, but you are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

⁷ Therefore, know that those who are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.

¹⁴ That the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

²⁹ And if you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

¹⁰ Who in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: Which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

¹⁶ "I will seek those who were lost, and bring back those who were driven away, and will bind up those who were broken, and will strengthen those who were sick: But I will destroy the fat and the strong; I will feed them with judgment.

²¹ And she shall bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS: For He shall save His people from their sins."

¹² But when Jesus heard that, He said to them, "Those that are whole do not need a physician, but those that are sick. ¹³ But go and learn what this means: 'I will have mercy, and not sacrifice': For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance."

⁶ But rather go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

²⁴ But He answered and said, "I am not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel."

¹⁰ Take heed that you do not despise one of these little ones; for I say to you that in heaven their angels always behold the face of My Father which is in heaven.

⁴ "What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he finds it? ⁵ And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. ⁶ And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, 'Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.' ⁷ I say to you, That likewise more joy shall be in heaven over one sinner who repents, than over ninety-nine just persons, which need no repentance.

³² It was proper that we should make merry, and be glad: For your brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.' "

⁶ For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.

¹³ who was formerly a blasphemer, a persecutor, and an injurious man: But I obtained mercy, because I did those things ignorantly in unbelief. ¹⁴ And the grace of our Lord was exceedingly abundant with faith and love which are in Christ Jesus. ¹⁵ This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. ¹⁶ Nevertheless, for this reason I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show forth all longsuffering, as a pattern to those who should hereafter believe upon Him to life everlasting.

²⁵ Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those that come to God by Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.

⁹ In this the love of God was manifested toward us, in how God sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. ¹⁰ In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. ¹¹ Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought to also love one another. ¹² No man has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwells in us, and His love is perfected in us. ¹³ By this we know that we dwell in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit. ¹⁴ And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Savior of the world.

²⁰ Also when the Pharisees demanded of Him, when the kingdom of God should come, He answered them and said, "The kingdom of God does not come with observation:

⁶ When they therefore had come together, they asked Him, saying, "Lord, will You at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?"

¹ Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together to Him, ² that you be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by a letter as one from us, as though the Day of Christ is at hand. ³ Let no man deceive you by any means: For that Day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

³⁸ But when the vinedressers saw the son, they said among themselves, 'This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance.'

¹⁴ For the kingdom of heaven is like a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered his goods to them. ¹⁵ And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his distinct ability; and immediately took his journey.1 talent is 750 ounces of silver; hence five talents is ~234.4 pounds of silver, two talents is ~93.8 pounds of silver, and one talent is ~46.9 pounds of silver. ¹⁶ Then he who had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made with them another five talents. ¹⁷ And likewise he who had received two, he also gained another two. ¹⁸ But he who had received one went and dug in the earth, and hid his lord's money. ¹⁹ After a long time the lord of those servants came, and settled accounts with them. ²⁰ And so he who had received five talents came and brought another five talents, saying, 'Lord, you delivered to me five talents: Behold, I have gained five more talents besides them. ²¹ His lord said to him, 'Well done, you good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things: Enter into the joy of your lord.' ²² He also who had received two talents came and said, 'Lord, you delivered to me two talents: Behold, I have gained two other talents besides them.' ²³ His lord said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things: Enter into the joy of your lord.' ²⁴ Then he who had received the one talent came and said, 'Lord, I knew that you are a hard man, reaping where you have not sown, and gathering where you have not scattered seed: ²⁵ And I was afraid, and went and hid your talent in the earth: Look, there you have what is yours.' ²⁶ His lord answered and said to him, 'You wicked and slothful servant, you knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not scattered seed: ²⁷ Therefore you ought to have put my money with the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received back my own with interest. ²⁸ Therefore take the talent from him, and give it to him who has ten talents. ²⁹ For to everyone that has, more shall be given, and he shall have abundance: But from him who does not have, even that which he has shall be taken away. ³⁰ And cast the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.'

¹⁸ And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All power is given to Me in heaven and in earth.

¹ Then He began to speak to them in parables. "A certain man planted a vineyard, and set a hedge around it, dug a place for the wine vat, and built a tower; and he leased it to vinedressers, and went into a far country.

³⁴ For the Son of Man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch. ³⁵ Watch therefore: For you do not know when the master of the house comes, in the evening, at midnight, at the crowing of the rooster, or in the morning: ³⁶ Lest coming suddenly, he find you sleeping. ³⁷ And what I say to you I say to all, Watch."

¹⁹ So then after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.

¹² Therefore He said, "A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return. ¹³ Also he called his ten servants, delivered to them ten pounds of silver, and said to them, 'Occupy until I come.'pounds: Greek or Attic mina, here translated as pound, is estimated at ~15.2 oz or ~431 grams per Encyclopedia Britannica ¹⁴ But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, 'We will not have this man to reign over us.' ¹⁵ And it came to pass, that when he returned, having received the kingdom, he then commanded these servants to be called to him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading. ¹⁶ Then came the first, saying, 'Lord, your pound has gained ten pounds.' ¹⁷ And he said to him, 'Well done, good servant: Because you have been faithful in a very little, you have authority over ten cities.' ¹⁸ And the second came, saying, 'Lord, your pound has gained five pounds.' ¹⁹ And He said likewise to him, 'You also be over five cities.' ²⁰ Then another came, saying, 'Lord, behold, here is your pound of silver, which I have kept laid up in a napkin: ²¹ For I feared you, because you are an austere man: You take up that which you did not lay down, and reap what you did not sow.' ²² And he said to him, 'Out of your own mouth I will judge you, you wicked servant. You knew that I was an austere man, taking up that which I did not lay down, and reaping what I did not sow: ²³ Why then did you not give my money into the bank, that at my coming I might have claimed my own with interest?' ²⁴ And he said to those that stood by, 'Take the pound of silver from him, and give it to him that has ten pounds.' ²⁵ (Then they said to him, 'Lord, he has ten pounds of silver.') ²⁶ For I say to you, That to everyone who has, more shall be given; and from him that does not have, even what he has shall be taken away from him. ²⁷ But bring here those enemies of mine, who were not willing that I reign over them, and slay them before me.' "

⁹ Then He began to tell the people this parable: "A certain man planted a vineyard, leased it to vinedressers, and went into a far country for a long time.

⁵¹ And it came to pass, while He blessed them, He was separated from them, and carried up into heaven.

³⁷ Pilate therefore said to Him, "Are You a king then?" Jesus answered, "You say that I am a king. For this purpose I was born, and for this cause I came into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone that is of the truth hears My voice."

⁹ And when He had spoken these things, while they beheld, He was taken up; and a cloud received Him out of their sight. ¹⁰ And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; ¹¹ which also said, "You men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as you have seen Him go into heaven."

³¹ Because He has appointed a day, in which He will judge the world in righteousness by that Man whom He has ordained; of which He has given assurance to all men, in that He has raised Him from the dead."

²⁵ For He must reign, until He has put all enemies under His feet.

²⁰ which He worked in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead, and set Him at His own right hand in the heavenly places, ²¹ far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: ²² And has put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be the head over all things to the church, ²³ which is His body, the fullness of Him that fills all in all.

⁹ Therefore God has also highly exalted Him, and given Him a name which is above every name: ¹⁰ That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things on earth, and things under the earth; ¹¹ and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

²⁸ So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and to those that look for Him He shall appear the second time without sin to salvation.

²² Who has gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject to Him.

⁷ Behold, He comes with clouds; and every eye shall see Him, and also those which pierced Him: And all tribes of the earth shall wail because of Him. Even so, Amen.

⁷ But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit with altogether. ⁸ For to one is given the word of wisdom by the Spirit; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; ⁹ to another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; ¹⁰ to another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another diverse kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: ¹¹ But all these work effectually by that one and the exact same Spirit, dividing to every man distinctly as He wills.

²⁸ And God has set some in the church, first apostles, secondly prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. ²⁹ Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all workers of miracles?

¹⁰ For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.

¹ James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad: Greetings.

⁹ Use hospitality one to another without grudging. ¹⁰ As every man has received the gift, even so minister the same to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. ¹¹ If any man speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God gives: That in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be the praise and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

¹ Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to those that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Savior Jesus Christ:

⁷ And the LORD said to Samuel, "Hearken to the voice of the people in all that they say to you: For they have not rejected you, but they have rejected Me, that I should not reign over them.

¹ Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? ² The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against His anointed, saying, ³ "Let us break their bands apart, and cast away their cords from us."

⁷ Thus says the LORD, the Redeemer of Israel, and His Holy One, to Him whom man despises, to Him whom the nation abhors, to a Servant of rulers, "Kings shall see and arise, princes also shall worship, because of the LORD who is faithful, and the Holy One of Israel, and He shall choose You."

⁸ I also cut off three shepherds in one month; and my soul loathed them, and their soul also abhorred me.

²⁷ But bring here those enemies of mine, who were not willing that I reign over them, and slay them before me.' "

¹¹ He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him.

¹⁸ If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you.

²³ He that hates Me hates My Father also. ²⁴ If I had not done among them the works which no other man did, they would not have had sin: But now they have both seen and hated both Me and My Father.

¹⁴ But you denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted to you; ¹⁵ and killed the Prince of life, whom God has raised from the dead; of which we are witnesses.

²⁷ "For truly against Your holy Child Jesus, whom You have anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together, ²⁸ to do whatever Your hand and Your counsel determined beforehand to be done.

⁵¹ "You stiff necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, you always resist the Holy Spirit: As your fathers did, so you do. ⁵² Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? And they have slain those which foretold of the coming of the Just One; of whom you now have been the betrayers and murderers:

⁴ He that sits in the heavens shall laugh: The LORD shall have them in derision. ⁵ Then He shall speak to them in His wrath, and vex them in His sore displeasure. ⁶ "Yet I have set My king upon My holy hill of Zion."

¹⁹ After a long time the lord of those servants came, and settled accounts with them.

⁴⁸ But he that did not know, and committed things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with a few stripes. For to whomever much is given, from him much shall be required: And to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask all the more.

² Therefore he called him, and said to him, 'What is this that I hear about you? Give an account of your stewardship; for you may no longer be steward.' ³ Then the steward said within himself, 'What shall I do? For my lord is taking away from me the stewardship: I cannot dig; I am ashamed to beg. ⁴ I have resolved what to do, that when I am put out of the stewardship, they may receive me into their houses.' ⁵ Then he called every one of his lord's debtors to himself, and said to the first, 'How much do you owe to my lord?' ⁶ And he said, 'A hundred measures of oil.' And he said to him, 'Take your bill, and write eighty.' ⁸ Yet the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: For the children of this world in their generation are wiser than the children of light. ⁹ And I say to you, Make for yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that when you fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations. ¹⁰ He who is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: And he who is unjust in the least is also unjust in much. ¹¹ Therefore, if you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? ¹² And if you have not been faithful in what is another man's, who shall give you that which is your own? ¹³ No servant can serve two masters: For either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon."

¹⁰ But why do you judge your brother? Or why do you disregard your brother as nothing? For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. ¹¹ For it is written, "As I live, says the LORD, every knee shall bow to Me, and every tongue shall confess to God." ¹² So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.

¹ Let a man so account for us, as ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God. ² Moreover, it is required in stewards that a man be found faithful. ³ But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged by you, or by a man's judgment: Nevertheless I do not judge my own self. ⁴ For I know nothing by myself; yet I am not justified by this: But He that judges me is the Lord. ⁵ Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: And then every man shall have praise from God.

¹⁴ But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? For all things come of you, and of your own have we given you. ¹⁵ For we are strangers before you, and sojourners, as were all our fathers: Our days on the earth are as a shadow, and there is none abiding. ¹⁶ O LORD our God, all this store that we have prepared to build you a house for your holy name comes of your hand, and is all your own.

¹⁰ But by the grace of God I am what I am: And His grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all: Yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

²⁸ Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus: ²⁹ For this purpose I also labor, striving according to His working, which works in me mightily.

⁷ I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: ⁸ Furthermore, there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, shall give me in that day: And not to me only, but also to all those that love His appearing.

¹⁸ Yes, a man may say, "You have faith, and I have works": Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. ¹⁹ You believe that there is one God; you do well: The devils also believe, and tremble. ²⁰ But are you willing to know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? ²¹ Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he offered Isaac his son upon the altar? ²² Do you see how faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect? ²³ And the scripture was fulfilled which says, "Abraham believed God, and it was imputed to him as righteousness": And he was called the Friend of God. ²⁴ You see then how a man is justified by works, and not by faith only. ²⁵ Likewise, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers, and sent them out another way? ²⁶ For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

⁴ And Joseph found grace in his sight, and he served him: And he made him overseer over his house, and all that he had he put into his hand.

³⁰ For which reason the LORD God of Israel says, 'I said indeed that your house, and the house of your father, should walk before Me forever': But now the LORD says, 'Far be it from Me; for those that honor Me I will honor, and those that despise Me shall be lightly esteemed.

²⁹ But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not from men, but from God.

⁵ Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: And then every man shall have praise from God.

¹⁰ Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sake, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

⁷ That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perishes, though it be tried with fire, might be found to praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

⁴ And when the Chief Shepherd shall appear, you shall receive a crown of glory that does not fade away.

²⁶ And he that overcomes, and keeps My works to the end, to him I will give power over the nations: ²⁷ 'And He shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter, they shall be broken to pieces: Even as I received from My Father. ²⁸ And I will give him the morning star. ²⁹ He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.' ²³ But he that received seed into the good ground is he that hears the word, and understands it; which also bears fruit, and brings forth, some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty."

²⁰ And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred."

¹² For if there is first a willing mind, it is accepted according to what a man has, and not according to what he does not have.

¹⁰ Say to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: For they shall eat the fruit of their doings.

⁸ Now he that plants and he that waters are one: And every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labor.

⁴¹ There is one glory of the sun, another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: For one star differs from another star in glory. ⁴² So also is the resurrection of the dead. The body is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:

⁵⁸ Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, seeing you know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

⁶ But this I say, he which sows sparingly shall also reap sparingly; and he which sows bountifully shall also reap bountifully.

⁸ Look to yourselves, that we do not lose those things which we have worked for, but that we receive a full reward.

¹³ The slothful man says, "There is a lion in the way; a lion is in the streets." ¹⁴ As the door turns upon its hinges, so does the slothful upon his bed. ¹⁵ The slothful hides his hand in his bosom; it grieves him to bring it back again to his mouth. ¹⁶ The sluggard is wiser in his own conceit than seven men that can render a reason.

¹⁷ Therefore, to him that knows to do good, and does not do it, to him it is sin.

¹⁹ And they said to Moses, "You speak with us, and we will hear: But do not let God speak with us, lest we die." ²⁰ And Moses said to the people, "Do not fear: For God has come to prove you, and that His fear may be before your faces, that you do not sin."

¹⁹ And He smote the men of Beth-Shemesh, because they had looked into the ark of the LORD, He even smote from the people fifty thousand and seventy men: And the people lamented, because the LORD had smote many of the people with a great slaughter. ²⁰ And the men of Beth-Shemesh said, "Who is able to stand before this holy LORD God? And to whom shall He go up from us?" ²¹ And they sent messengers to the inhabitants of Kirjath-Jearim, saying, "The Philistines have brought back the ark of the LORD; you come down, and bring it up to you."

²⁰ And Samuel said to the people, "Fear not: You have done all this wickedness: Yet do not turn aside from following the LORD, but serve the LORD with all your heart;

⁹ And David was afraid of the LORD that day, and said, "How shall the ark of the LORD come to me? ¹⁰ So David would not remove the ark of the LORD to him into the city of David: But David carried it aside into the house of Obededom the Gittite. ¹¹ And the ark of the LORD continued in the house of Obededom the Gittite three months: And the LORD blessed Obededom, and all his household.

¹⁴ Therefore they say to God, Depart from us; for we desire not the knowledge of your ways. ¹⁵ What is the Almighty, that we should serve him? And what profit should we have, if we pray to him?

²⁵ Yet you say, 'The way of the LORD is not equal.' Hear now, O house of Israel; Is My way not equal? Are not your ways unequal? ²⁶ When a righteous man turns away from his righteousness, and commits iniquity, and dies in it; he shall die for his iniquity that he has done. ²⁷ Again, when the wicked man turns away from his wickedness that he has committed, and does that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive. ²⁸ Because he considers, and turns away from all his transgressions that he has committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die. ²⁹ Yet the house of Israel said, 'The way of the LORD is not equal.' O house of Israel, are not My ways equal? Are not your ways unequal?

¹⁴ You all have said, 'It is vain to serve God: And what profit is it that we have kept His ordinance, and that we have walked mournfully before the LORD of hosts? ¹⁵ And now we call the proud happy; yes, those that work wickedness are established; yes, those that tempt God are even delivered.' "

²⁴ Then he who had received the one talent came and said, 'Lord, I knew that you are a hard man, reaping where you have not sown, and gathering where you have not scattered seed: ²⁵ And I was afraid, and went and hid your talent in the earth: Look, there you have what is yours.'

⁷ Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: For it is not subject to the law of God, indeed neither can be.

¹⁵ For you have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but you have received the Spirit of adoption, by which we cry out, "Abba, Father."

⁷ For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

¹⁰ For whoever keeps the whole law, and yet offends in one point, he is guilty of all.

¹⁸ There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear: Because fear accompanies torment. He that fears is not made perfect in love.

¹⁵ to execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have committed with ungodly living, and of all their fierce speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him." ¹⁶ And David said to him, "Your blood be upon your head; for your mouth has testified against you, saying, 'I have slain the LORD's anointed.' "

⁵ For your mouth utters your iniquity, and you choose the tongue of the crafty. ⁶ Your own mouth condemns you, and not I: Yes, your own lips testify against you.

³⁷ For by your words you shall be justified, and by your words you shall be condemned."

¹² And he said to him, 'Friend, how did you come in here not having a wedding garment?' And he was speechless.

²⁶ His lord answered and said to him, 'You wicked and slothful servant, you knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not scattered seed: ²⁷ Therefore you ought to have put my money with the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received back my own with interest.

¹⁹ Now we know that whatever things the law says, it says to those who are under the law: That every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.

²⁵ If you lend money to any of My people that are poor by you, you shall not be to him as an usurer, neither shall you lay upon him usury. ²⁶ If you take any of your neighbor's clothing to pledge, you shall deliver it to him by that time the sun goes down: ²⁷ For that is his only covering, it is his clothing for his skin: In what shall he sleep? And it shall come to pass, when he cries to Me, that I will hear; for I am gracious.

¹⁹ You shall not lend on usury to your brother; usury of money, usury of food, usury of anything that is lent on usury: ²⁰ To a stranger you may lend on usury; but to your brother you shall not lend on usury: That the LORD your God may bless you in all that you set your hand to in the land where you go to possess it.

⁴ Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance? ⁵ But according to your hardness and impenitent heart you treasure up for yourself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;

²⁰ But God said to him, 'You fool, this night your soul shall be required of you: Then whose shall those things be, which you have provided?'

² Therefore he called him, and said to him, 'What is this that I hear about you? Give an account of your stewardship; for you may no longer be steward.'

¹⁹ And this was yet a small thing in your sight, O Lord GOD; but you have spoken also of your servant's house for a great while to come. And is this the manner of man, O Lord GOD?

⁸ "For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways", said the LORD. ⁹ "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.

²⁸ And Samuel said to him, "The LORD has tore the kingdom of Israel from you this day, and has given it to a neighbor of yours, that is better than you.

¹⁵ But my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before you.

⁸ Let his days be few; and let another take his office.

¹² Because they ministered to them before their idols, and caused the house of Israel to fall into iniquity; therefore I have lifted up My hand against them", says the Lord GOD, "and they shall bear their iniquity. ¹³ And they shall not come near to Me, to do the office of a priest to Me, nor to come near any of My holy things, in the most holy place: But they shall bear their shame, and their abominations which they have committed. ¹⁴ But I will make them keepers of the ordinances of the house, for all its service, and for all that shall be done in it. ¹⁵ But the priests the Levites, the sons of Zadok, that kept the ordinances of My sanctuary when the children of Israel went astray from Me, they shall come near to Me to minister to Me, and they shall stand before Me to offer to Me the fat and the blood", says the Lord GOD: ¹⁶ "They shall enter into My sanctuary, and they shall come near My table, to minister to Me, and they shall keep My ordinances.

¹² For whoever has, to him more shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: But whoever does not have, even what he has shall be taken away from him.

⁴³ Therefore I say to you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits of it.

²⁸ Therefore take the talent from him, and give it to him who has ten talents. ²⁹ For to everyone that has, more shall be given, and he shall have abundance: But from him who does not have, even that which he has shall be taken away.

²⁵ For he that has, to him more shall be given: And he that does not have, from him shall be taken even that which he has."

¹⁸ Therefore take heed how you hear: For whoever has, to him more shall be given; and whoever does not have, even that which he seems to have shall be taken from him."

³ Then the steward said within himself, 'What shall I do? For my lord is taking away from me the stewardship: I cannot dig; I am ashamed to beg.

¹ After this there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. ² Now there is a pool in Jerusalem by the sheep market, which is called Bethesda in the Hebrew tongue, having five porches. ³ In these lay a large multitude of feeble folk, blind, crippled, withered, waiting for the moving of the water.

²⁰ For it is written in the Book of Psalms, 'Let his habitation be desolate, and let no man dwell in it'; and, 'Let another take his office as a bishop.'

³ And have supported, and have patience, and have labored for My name's sake, and have not fainted.

¹¹ Behold, I come quickly: Hold firmly to that which you have, that no man take your crown.

³⁶ And the men, which Moses sent to search the land, who returned, and made all the congregation to murmur against him, by bringing up a slander upon the land, ³⁷ even those men that did bring up the evil report upon the land, died by the plague before the LORD.

³⁰ But if the LORD make a new thing, and the earth open her mouth, and swallow them up, with all that appertain to them, and they go down quick into the pit; then you shall understand that these men have provoked the LORD. ³¹ And it came to pass, as he had made an end of speaking all these words, that the ground split asunder that was under them: ³² And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their houses, and all the men that appertained to Korah, and all their goods. ³³ They, and all that appertained to them, went down alive into the pit, and the earth closed on them: And they perished from among the congregation. ³⁴ And all Israel that were all around them fled at the cry of them: For they said, "Lest the earth swallow us up also. ³⁵ And there came out a fire from the LORD, and consumed the two hundred and fifty men that offered incense.

³ "Let us break their bands apart, and cast away their cords from us." ⁴ He that sits in the heavens shall laugh: The LORD shall have them in derision. ⁵ Then He shall speak to them in His wrath, and vex them in His sore displeasure.

⁹ You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.' "

⁸ Your hand shall find out all Your enemies: Your right hand shall find out those that hate You. ⁹ You shall make them as a fiery oven in the time of Your anger: The LORD shall swallow them up in His wrath, and the fire shall devour them.

²² Let their table become a snare before them: And that which should have been for their welfare, let it become a trap. ²³ Let their eyes be darkened, that they do not see; and make their loins continually to shake. ²⁴ Pour out Your indignation upon them, and let Your wrathful anger take hold of them. ²⁵ Let their habitation be desolate; and let none dwell in their tents. ²⁶ For they persecute him whom You have smitten; and they speak to the grief of those whom You have wounded. ²⁷ Add iniquity to their iniquity: And do not let them come into Your righteousness. ²⁸ Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous.

⁶ A voice of noise from the city, a voice from the temple, a voice of the LORD that renders recompense to His enemies.

¹⁴ And when you see this, your heart shall rejoice, and your bones shall flourish like a herb: And the hand of the LORD shall be known toward His servants, and His indignation toward His enemies.

² God is jealous, and the LORD revenges; the LORD revenges, and is furious; the LORD will take vengeance on His adversaries, and He reserves wrath for His enemies.

⁸ But with an overrunning flood He will make an utter end of that place, and darkness shall pursue His enemies.

³⁷ But last of all he sent his son to them, saying, 'They will reverence my son.' ³⁸ But when the vinedressers saw the son, they said among themselves, 'This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance.' ³⁹ And they caught him, and cast him out of the vineyard, and slew him. ⁴⁰ Therefore when the lord of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those vinedressers? ⁴¹ They said to Him, "He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will lease out his vineyard to other vinedressers, which shall give him the fruits in their seasons."

⁷ But when the king heard about it, he was wroth: And he sent forth his armies, destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.

³⁴ Therefore, behold, I send to you prophets, wise men, and scribes: And some of them you shall kill and crucify; and some of them you shall scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city: ³⁵ That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom you slew between the temple and the altar. ³⁶ Truly I say to you, All these things shall come upon this generation.

¹⁴ But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, 'We will not have this man to reign over us.'

⁴² saying, "If you had known, even you, at least in this day, the things which relate to your peace! But now they are hid from your eyes. ⁴³ For the days shall come upon you, that your enemies shall cast a trench around you, surround you, and keep you in on every side, ⁴⁴ and shall level you even with the ground, and your children within you; and they shall not leave one stone upon another in you; because you did not know the time of your visitation."

¹⁶ He shall come and destroy those vinedressers, and shall give the vineyard to others." And when they heard it, they said, "God forbid."

²² Because these are the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

²⁴ And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: And Jerusalem shall be trodden down by the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.

¹⁵ Who killed both the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they do not please God, and are contrary to all men: ¹⁶ Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, to always fill up their sins: For the wrath has come upon them to the uttermost.

¹³ from then on expecting till His enemies are made His footstool.

⁶ Sacrifice and offering You did not desire; You have opened my ears: Burnt offering and sin offering you have not required. ⁷ Then I said, "See, I come: In the volume of the book it is written of me, ⁸ I delight to do Your will, O my God: Yes, Your law is within my heart."

³² Now they were on the road going up to Jerusalem; and Jesus went before them: And they were amazed; and as they followed, they were afraid. Then He took the twelve again, and began to tell them what things would happen to Him, ³³ saying, "Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of Man shall be delivered to the chief priests, and to the scribes; and they shall condemn Him to death, and shall deliver Him to the Gentiles: ³⁴ And they shall mock Him, and shall scourge Him, and shall spit upon Him, and shall kill Him: And the third day He shall rise again."

⁵¹ And it came to pass, when the time had come that he was to be received up, He steadfastly set His face to go to Jerusalem,

⁵⁰ But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how pressed I am until it is accomplished!

³¹ Then He took the twelve to Himself, and said to them, "Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of Man shall be accomplished.

¹¹ Then Jesus said to Peter, "Put your sword into the sheath: The cup which My Father has given Me, shall I not drink it?"

² looking to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

¹ Therefore, as Christ has suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: For he that has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin;

⁴ And His feet shall stand in that day upon the Mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the Mount of Olives shall split in the middle of it toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall move toward the north, and half of it toward the south.

¹ And when they drew near to Jerusalem, and came to Bethphage, to the mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples, ² saying to them, "Go into the village before you, and immediately you shall find a donkey tied, and a colt with her: Loose them, and bring them to Me. ³ And if any man says anything to you, you shall say, 'The Lord has need of them'; and he will immediately send them." ⁴ All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, ⁵ "Tell the daughter of Zion, 'Behold, your King comes to you, meek, and sitting upon a donkey, and a colt the foal of a donkey.' " ⁶ And the disciples went, and did as Jesus commanded them, ⁷ and brought the donkey, and the colt, put their clothes on them, and they set Him upon them. ⁸ And a very large multitude spread their clothes on the road; others cut down branches from the trees, and strew them on the road. ⁹ And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried out, saying: "Hosanna to the Son of David: Blessed is He that comes in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest." ¹⁰ And when He came into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, "Who is this?" ¹¹ Moreover the multitude said, "This is Jesus the prophet from Nazareth of Galilee."

¹⁷ Then He left them, and went out of the city into Bethany; and He lodged there.

¹ Then when they came near to Jerusalem, to Bethphage and Bethany, at the Mount of Olives, He sent forth two of His disciples, ² and said to them, "Go your way into the village before you: And as soon as you all have entered into it, you all shall find a colt tied, upon which no man ever sat; loose him, and bring him. ³ And if anyone says to you, 'Why are you doing this?' say that, 'The Lord has need of him'; and immediately he will send him here." ⁴ And they went their way, and found the colt tied by the door outside in a place where two roads met; and they loosed him. ⁵ Then some of them that stood there said to them, "What are you doing, loosing the colt?" ⁶ And they said to them according to how Jesus had commanded: And they let them go. ⁷ Then they brought the colt to Jesus, and cast their garments on him; and He sat upon him. ⁸ And many spread their clothes on the road: And others cut down branches off the trees, and spread them on the road. ⁹ Also those who went before, and those who followed, cried out, saying, "Hosanna; 'Blessed is He that comes in the name of the Lord': ¹⁰ Blessed be the kingdom of our father David, that comes in the name of the Lord: Hosanna in the highest." ¹¹ And Jesus entered into Jerusalem, and into the temple: And when He had looked around upon all things, and already the evening had come, He went out to Bethany with the twelve.

³⁷ And when He was drawing near, even now at the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen;

³⁷ And in the daytime He was teaching in the temple; and at night He went out, and abode in the mount that is called The Mount of Olives.

³⁹ And He came out, and went to the Mount of Olives, as He was accustomed; and His disciples also followed Him.

⁵⁰ And He led them out as far as to Bethany, and He lifted up His hands, and blessed them.

¹² On the next day many people who had come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, ¹³ took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet Him, and cried out, "Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that comes in the name of the LORD." ¹⁴ And Jesus, when He had found a young donkey, sat on it; as it is written, ¹⁵ "Fear not, daughter of Zion: Behold, your King comes, sitting on a donkey's colt." ¹⁶ His disciples did not understand these things at first: But when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things were written about Him, and that they had done these things to Him.

¹² Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a Sabbath day's journey.

² When you have departed from me today, you shall then find two men by Rachel's sepulcher within the border of Benjamin at Zelzah; and they will say to you, 'The donkeys which you went to seek are found: And lo, your father has left the care of the donkeys, and sorrows for you, saying, "What shall I do for my son?" ³ Then you shall go on forward from there, and you shall come to the plain of Tabor, and there you shall meet three men going up to God at Bethel, one carrying three kids, and another carrying three loaves of bread, and another carrying a bottle of wine: ⁴ And they will salute you, and give you two loaves of bread; which you shall receive from their hands. ⁵ After that you shall come to the hill of God, where the garrison of the Philistines is: And it shall come to pass, when you have come into the city, that you shall meet a company of prophets coming down from the high place with a psaltery, and a tabret, and a pipe, and a harp, before them; and they shall prophesy: ⁶ And the Spirit of the LORD will come upon you, and you shall prophesy with them, and shall be turned into another man. ⁷ And let it be, when these signs have come to you, that you do as occasion serve you; for God is with you. ⁸ And you shall go down before me to Gilgal; and behold, I will come down to you, to offer burnt offerings, and to sacrifice sacrifices of peace offerings: Seven days you shall tarry, until I come to you, and show you what you shall do. ⁹ And it was so, that when he had turned his back to go from Samuel, God gave him another heart: And all those signs came to pass that day.

³² And those that were sent went their way, and found it exactly as He had said to them.

⁸ And He sent Peter and John, saying, "Go and prepare the Passover for us, that we may eat." ⁹ And they said to Him, "Where would you like that we prepare?" ¹⁰ And He said to them, "Behold, when you have entered into the city, there a man shall meet you, carrying a pitcher of water; follow him into the house where he enters in. ¹¹ Then you shall say to the goodman of the house, 'The Master says to you, "Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the Passover with My disciples?" ' ¹² And he shall show you a large upper room already furnished: There make ready." ¹³ Moreover they went and found it just as He had said to them: And they made ready the Passover.

²⁹ And now I have told you before it comes to pass, that when it does come to pass, you might believe.

¹ A Psalm of David. The earth is the LORD's, and its fullness; the world, and those that dwell in it.

¹⁰ For every wild beast of the forest is mine, and the domestic beasts upon a thousand hills. ¹¹ I know all the fowls of the mountains: And the wild beasts of the field are mine. ¹² If I were hungry, I would not tell you: For the world is Mine, and its fullness.

² saying to them, "Go into the village before you, and immediately you shall find a donkey tied, and a colt with her: Loose them, and bring them to Me. ³ And if any man says anything to you, you shall say, 'The Lord has need of them'; and he will immediately send them."

³⁶ The word which God sent to the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (He is Lord of all):

¹³ Moreover they went and found it just as He had said to them: And they made ready the Passover.

⁹ Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: Behold, your King comes to you: He is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon a donkey, and upon a colt, the foal of a donkey.

³⁵ If He called them gods, to whom the Word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;

¹⁶ His disciples did not understand these things at first: But when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things were written about Him, and that they had done these things to Him.

⁹ For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that through His poverty you might be rich.

¹³ Then they hurried, and took every man his garment, and put it under him on the top of the stairs, and blew with trumpets, saying, "Jehu is king.

⁷ and brought the donkey, and the colt, put their clothes on them, and they set Him upon them.

⁷ Then they brought the colt to Jesus, and cast their garments on him; and He sat upon him. ⁸ And many spread their clothes on the road: And others cut down branches off the trees, and spread them on the road.

¹⁴ And Jesus, when He had found a young donkey, sat on it; as it is written,

¹⁵ Where then is the blessedness you spoke of? For I bear you record, that if it had been possible, you would have plucked out your own eyes, and have given them to me. ¹⁶ Have I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?

⁸ And a very large multitude spread their clothes on the road; others cut down branches from the trees, and strew them on the road.

¹ Then Moses and the children of Israel sang this song to the LORD, and spoke, saying, "I will sing to the LORD, for He has triumphed gloriously: The horse and his rider He has thrown into the sea. ² The LORD is my strength and song, and He has become my salvation: He is my God, and I will prepare Him a habitation; my father's God, and I will exalt Him. ³ The LORD is a Man of war: The LORD is His name. ⁴ Pharaoh's chariots and his army He has cast into the sea: His chosen captains also are drowned in the Red sea. ⁵ The depths have covered them: They sank into the bottom as a stone. ⁶ Your right hand, O LORD, has become glorious in power: Your right hand, O LORD, has dashed the enemy in pieces. ⁷ And in the greatness of Your excellency You have overthrown those that rose up against You: You sent forth Your wrath, which consumed them as stubble. ⁸ And with the blast of Your nostrils the waters were gathered together, the floods stood upright as a heap, and the depths were congealed in the heart of the sea. ⁹ The enemy said, 'I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my lust shall be satisfied upon them; I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them.' ¹⁰ You blew with Your wind, the sea covered them: They sank as lead in the mighty waters. ¹¹ Who is like You, O LORD, among the gods? Who is like You, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders? ¹² You stretched out Your right hand, the earth swallowed them. ¹³ You in Your mercy have led forth the people which You have redeemed: You have guided them in Your strength to Your holy habitation. ¹⁴ The people shall hear, and be afraid: Sorrow shall take hold on the inhabitants of Palestina. ¹⁵ Then the dukes of Edom shall be amazed; the mighty men of Moab, trembling shall take hold upon them; all the inhabitants of Canaan shall melt away. ¹⁶ Fear and dread shall fall upon them; by the greatness of Your arm they shall be as still as a stone; until Your people pass over, O LORD, until the people which You have purchased pass over. ¹⁷ You shall bring them in, and plant them in the mountain of Your inheritance, in the place, O LORD, which You have made for Yourself to dwell in, in the Sanctuary, O LORD, which Your hands have established. ¹⁸ The LORD shall reign forever and ever.

¹ Then sang Deborah and Barak the son of Abinoam on that day, saying, ² praise you the LORD for the avenging of Israel, when the people willingly offered themselves. ³ Hear, O you kings; give ear, O you princes; I, even I, will sing to the LORD; I will sing praise to the LORD God of Israel. ⁴ LORD, when you went out of Seir, when you marched out of the field of Edom, the earth trembled, and heaven dropped, the clouds also dropped water. ⁵ The mountains melted from before the LORD, even that Sinai from before the LORD God of Israel. ⁶ In the days of Shamgar the son of Anath, in the days of Jael, the highways were unoccupied, and the travelers walked through byways. ⁷ The inhabitants of the villages ceased, they ceased in Israel, until that I Deborah arose, that I arose a mother in Israel. ⁸ They chose new gods; then was war in the gates: Was there a shield or spear seen among forty thousand in Israel? ⁹ My heart is toward the governors of Israel, that offered themselves willingly among the people. Bless you the LORD. ¹⁰ Speak, you that ride on white donkeys, you that sit in judgment, and walk by the highway. ¹¹ Those that are delivered from the noise of archers in the places of drawing water, there shall they rehearse the righteous acts of the LORD, even the righteous acts toward the inhabitants of his villages in Israel: Then shall the people of the LORD go down to the gates. ¹² Awake, awake, Deborah: Awake, awake, utter a song: Arise, Barak, and lead your captivity captive, you son of Abinoam. ¹³ Then he made him that remains have dominion over the nobles among the people: The LORD made me have dominion over the mighty. ¹⁴ Out of Ephraim was there a root of them against Amalek; after you, Benjamin, among your people; out of Machir came down governors, and out of Zebulun those that handle the pen of the writer. ¹⁵ And the princes of Issachar were with Deborah; even Issachar, and also Barak: He was sent on foot into the valley. For the divisions of Reuben there were great thoughts of heart. ¹⁶ Why stayed you among the sheepfolds, to hear the bleatings of the flocks? For the divisions of Reuben there were great searchings of heart. ¹⁷ Gilead stayed beyond the Jordan: And why did Dan remain in ships? Asher continued upon the seashore, and stayed in his breaches. ¹⁸ Zebulun and Naphtali were a people that risked their lives to the death in the high places of the field. ¹⁹ The kings came and fought, then fought the kings of Canaan in Taanach by the waters of Megiddo; they took no gain of money. ²⁰ They fought from heaven; the stars in their courses fought against Sisera. ²¹ The river of Kishon swept them away, that ancient river, the river Kishon. O my soul, you have trodden down strength. ²² Then were the horse hoofs broken by the means of the prancings, the prancings of their mighty ones. ²³ Curse you Meroz, said the angel of the LORD, curse you bitterly its inhabitants; because they came not to the help of the LORD, to the help of the LORD against the mighty. ²⁴ Blessed above women shall Jael the wife of Heber the Kenite be, blessed shall she be above women in the tent. ²⁵ He asked water, and she gave him milk; she brought forth butter in a lordly dish. ²⁶ She put her hand to the nail, and her right hand to the workmen's hammer; and with the hammer she smote Sisera, she smote off his head, when she had pierced and stricken through his temples. ²⁷ At her feet he bowed, he fell, he lay down: At her feet he bowed, he fell: Where he bowed, there he fell down dead. ²⁸ The mother of Sisera looked out at a window, and cried through the lattice, Why is his chariot so long in coming? Why tarry the wheels of his chariots? ²⁹ Her wise ladies answered her, yes, she returned answer to herself, ³⁰ have they not sped? Have they not divided the prey; to every man a damsel or two; to Sisera a prey of diverse colors, a prey of diverse colors of needlework, of diverse colors of needlework on both sides, meet for the necks of those that take the spoil? ³¹ So let all your enemies perish, O LORD: But let those that love him be as the sun when he goes forth in his might. And the land had rest forty years.

² And David arose, and went with all the people that were with him from Baale of Judah, to bring up from there the ark of God, whose name is called by the name of the LORD of hosts that dwells between the cherubims. ³ And they set the ark of God on a new cart, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab that was in Gibeah: And Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, drove the new cart. ⁴ And they brought it out of the house of Abinadab which was at Gibeah, accompanying the ark of God: And Ahio went before the ark. ⁵ And David and all the house of Israel played before the LORD on all manner of instruments made of fir wood, even on harps, and on psalteries, and on tambourines, and on cornets, and on cymbals. ⁶ And when they came to Nachon's threshing floor, Uzzah put forth his hand to the ark of God, and took hold of it; for the oxen shook it.

⁵⁵ And he stood, and blessed all the congregation of Israel with a loud voice, saying, ⁵⁶ blessed be the LORD, that has given rest to his people Israel, according to all that he promised: There has not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by the hand of Moses his servant.

²⁸ Thus all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of the LORD with shouting, and with sound of the cornet, and with trumpets, and with cymbals, making a noise with psalteries and harps.

⁴ And he appointed certain of the Levites to minister before the ark of the LORD, and to record, and to thank and praise the LORD God of Israel: ⁵ Asaph the chief, and next to him Zechariah, Jeiel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Mattithiah, and Eliab, and Benaiah, and Obededom: And Jeiel with psalteries and with harps; but Asaph made a sound with cymbals; ⁶ benaiah also and Jahaziel the priests with trumpets continually before the ark of the covenant of God. ⁷ Then on that day David delivered first this psalm to thank the LORD into the hand of Asaph and his brothers.

²⁸ And all the congregation worshiped, and the singers sang, and the trumpeters sounded: And all this continued until the burnt offering was finished. ²⁹ And when they had made an end of offering, the king and all that were present with him bowed themselves, and worshiped. ³⁰ Moreover Hezekiah the king and the princes commanded the Levites to sing praise to the LORD with the words of David, and of Asaph the seer. And they sang praises with gladness, and they bowed their heads and worshiped.

³⁶ And Hezekiah rejoiced, and all the people, that God had prepared the people: For the thing was done suddenly.

¹⁰ And when the builders laid the foundation of the temple of the LORD, they set the priests in their apparel with trumpets, and the Levites the sons of Asaph with cymbals, to praise the LORD, after the ordinance of David king of Israel. ¹¹ And they sang together by course in praising and giving thanks to the LORD; because he is good, for his mercy endures forever toward Israel. And all the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised the LORD, because the foundation of the house of the LORD was laid. ¹² But many of the priests and Levites and chief of the fathers, who were ancient men, that had seen the first house, when the foundation of this house was laid before their eyes, wept with a loud voice; and many shouted aloud for joy: ¹³ So that the people could not discern the noise of the shout of joy from the noise of the weeping of the people: For the people shouted with a loud shout, and the noise was heard afar off.

¹² Then they believed His words; they sang His praise. ¹³ They soon forgot His works; they did not wait for His counsel:

¹ And when they drew near to Jerusalem, and came to Bethphage, to the mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples,

³ And as He sat upon the Mount of Olives before the temple, Peter, James, John, and Andrew asked Him privately,

²⁶ And when they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.

¹⁶ And there came a fear on everyone: And they glorified God, saying that, "A great prophet is risen up among us"; and that, "God has visited His people."

⁴³ And immediately he received his sight, and followed Him, glorifying God: And all the people, when they saw it, gave praise to God.

²⁰ Then another came, saying, 'Lord, behold, here is your pound of silver, which I have kept laid up in a napkin:

¹² On the next day many people who had come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, ¹³ took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet Him, and cried out, "Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that comes in the name of the LORD."

¹⁷ His name shall endure forever: His name shall be continued as long as the sun: And men shall be blessed in Him: All nations shall call Him blessed. ¹⁸ Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, Who only does wondrous things. ¹⁹ And blessed be His glorious name forever: And let the whole earth be filled with His glory; Amen, and Amen.

²² The Stone which the builders refused has become the Head Stone of the corner. ²³ This is the LORD'S doing; it is marvelous in our eyes. ²⁴ This is the day which the LORD has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. ²⁵ Save now, I beseech You, O LORD: O LORD, I beseech You, send now prosperity. ²⁶ Blessed is he that comes in the name of the LORD; We have blessed You out of the house of the LORD.

⁹ And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried out, saying: "Hosanna to the Son of David: Blessed is He that comes in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest."

³⁴ Then the King shall say to those on His right hand, 'Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

⁹ Also those who went before, and those who followed, cried out, saying, "Hosanna; 'Blessed is He that comes in the name of the Lord': ¹⁰ Blessed be the kingdom of our father David, that comes in the name of the Lord: Hosanna in the highest."

¹⁰ Then the angel said to them, "Do not fear: For behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. ¹¹ For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. ¹² And this shall be a sign to you; you shall find the Babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger." ¹³ Then suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, ¹⁴ "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men."

³⁵ Behold, your house is left to you desolate: And truly I say to you, You shall not see Me, until the time comes when you shall say, 'Blessed is He that comes in the name of the Lord.' "

¹ Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

⁶ to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He has made us accepted in the Beloved.

¹² That we should be to the praise of His glory, who first trusted in Christ.

¹⁴ For He is our peace, who has made both [Jew and Gentile] one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation between us; ¹⁵ having abolished in His flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; so as to make in Himself from two one new man, thus making peace; ¹⁶ and that He might reconcile both to God in one body by the cross, having thereby slain the enmity: ¹⁷ And came and preached peace to you who were afar off, and to those that were near. ¹⁸ For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.

¹⁰ To the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be known through the church to the principalities and powers in heavenly places,

²¹ to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

²⁰ and having made peace through the blood of His cross, by Him to reconcile all things to Himself; by Him, I say, whether they are things on earth, or things in heaven.

¹⁷ Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.

¹² To whom it was revealed that, not for themselves, but to us they ministered these things, which are now reported to you by those that have preached the gospel to you with the Holy Spirit sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.

⁹ And they sang a new song, saying, "You are worthy to take the book, and to open its seals: For You were slain, and have redeemed us to God by Your blood out of every tribe, and tongue, and people, and nation; ¹⁰ and have made us kings and priests to our God: And we shall reign on the earth." ¹¹ Then I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels all around the throne, and the beasts, and the elders: And the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands; ¹² saying with a loud voice, "Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honor, and glory, and blessing." ¹³ And I heard every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, saying, "Blessing, and honor, and glory, and power, be to Him that sits upon the throne, and to the Lamb forever and ever." ¹⁴ And the four beasts said, "Amen." And the twenty-four elders fell down and worshiped Him that lives forever and ever.

¹ And after these things I heard a great voice of many people in heaven, saying, "Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honor, and power, to the Lord our God: ² For His judgments are true and righteous: For He has judged the great whore, which corrupted the earth with her fornication, and has avenged the blood of His servants at her hand." ³ And again they said, "Alleluia. And her smoke rose up forever and ever." ⁴ And the twenty-four elders and the four beasts fell down and worshiped God that sat on the throne, saying, "Amen; Alleluia." ⁵ Then a voice came out of the throne, saying, "Praise our God, all you His servants, and you that fear Him, both small and great." ⁶ And I heard as it were the voice of a large multitude, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, "Alleluia: For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns.

¹¹ LORD, when Your hand is lifted up, they will not see: But they shall see, and be ashamed for their envy of the people; yes, the fire of Your enemies shall devour them.

¹⁵ But when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that He did, and the children crying in the temple, and saying, "Hosanna to the Son of David"; they were intensely displeased, ¹⁶ and said to Him, "Do You hear what these say?" And Jesus said to them, "Yes; have you never read, 'Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants You have perfected praise'?"

¹³ But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: For you neither go in yourselves, nor do you permit those who are entering to go in.

⁴⁷ Then the chief priests and the Pharisees gathered a council, and said, "What shall we do? For this Man does many miracles. ⁴⁸ If we let Him alone after that, all men will believe upon Him: And the Romans shall come and take away both our place and nation."

¹⁰ But the chief priests consulted that they might put Lazarus to death also;

¹⁹ The Pharisees therefore said among themselves, "Do you perceive how you prevail in nothing? Behold, the world has gone after Him."

¹ And as they spoke to the people, the priests, the captain of the temple, and the Sadducees came upon them, ² being grieved that they taught the people, and preached through Jesus the resurrection from the dead.

¹⁶ saying, "What shall we do to these men? For indeed it is apparent to all those who dwell in Jerusalem that a notable miracle has been done by them; and we cannot deny it. ¹⁷ But so that it spreads no further among the people, let us strictly threaten them, that from this time forward they do not speak to any man in this name." ¹⁸ Therefore they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.

⁵ Do you think that the scripture says in vain, "The Spirit that dwells in us lusts to envy"?

¹¹ Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; let the sea roar, and the fullness of it.

⁷ Let the sea roar, and the fullness of it; the world, and those who dwell in it. ⁸ Let the floods clap their hands: Let the hills be joyful together ⁹ before the LORD; for He comes to judge the earth: With righteousness He shall judge the world, and the people with equity.

¹ When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language; ² judah was His sanctuary, and Israel His dominion. ³ The sea saw it, and fled: Jordan was driven back. ⁴ The mountains skipped like rams, and the little hills like lambs. ⁵ What ailed you, O sea, that you fled? O Jordan, that you were driven back? ⁶ You mountains, that you skipped like rams; and you little hills, like lambs? ⁷ Tremble, you earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob; ⁸ which turned the rock into a standing pool of water, the flint into a fountain of waters.

¹² For you shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: The mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.

¹¹ For the stone shall cry out of the wall, and the beam out of the timber shall answer it.

⁹ And do not think to say within yourselves, 'We have Abraham as our father': For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones.

⁴⁵ Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land until the ninth hour.

⁵¹ Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from the top to the bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks fissured open; ⁵² and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, ⁵³ and came out of the graves after His resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared to many. ⁵⁴ Now when the centurion, and those who were with him, all watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, "Truly this was the Son of God."

⁶ and turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them with an overthrow, making them an example to those that afterward would live ungodly;

⁵³ Horror has taken hold upon me because of the wicked that forsake Your law.

¹³⁶ Rivers of water run down my eyes, because they do not keep Your law.

¹⁵⁸ I beheld the transgressors, and was grieved; because they did not keep Your word.

¹ Oh that my head were waters, and my eyes a fountain of tears, that I might weep day and night for the slain of the daughter of my people!

¹⁷ But if you will not hear it, my soul shall weep in secret places for your pride; and my eye shall weep bitterly, and run down with tears, because the LORD's flock is carried away captive.

¹⁶ As for me, I have not hastened from being a pastor to follow You: Neither have I desired the woeful day; You know: That which came out of my lips was right before You.

⁸ How shall I give you up, Ephraim? How shall I deliver you, Israel? How shall I make you as Admah? How shall I set you as Zeboim? My heart is turned within Me, My repentings are kindled together.

³⁴ O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which kills the prophets, and stones those who are sent to you; how often I would have gathered your children together, as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, but you were not willing! ³⁵ Behold, your house is left to you desolate: And truly I say to you, You shall not see Me, until the time comes when you shall say, 'Blessed is He that comes in the name of the Lord.' "

³⁵ Jesus wept.

² that I have great heaviness and continual sorrow in my heart. ³ For I could wish that I myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh:

²⁹ O that there were such a heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all My commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children forever!

²⁹ O that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end!

⁶ Everyone that is godly shall pray to You for this in a time when You may be found: In the floods of great waters they surely shall not come near to him.

¹³ Oh, that My people had hearkened to Me, and Israel had walked in My ways!

⁷ For He is our God; and we are the people of His pasture, and the sheep of His hand. Today if you will hear His voice, ⁸ "Do not harden your heart, as in the provocation, and as in the day of temptation in the wilderness:

⁹ And He said, "Go, and tell this people, 'You indeed hear, but do not understand; and you see indeed, but do not perceive.' ¹⁰ Make the heart of this people dull, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed."

¹⁰ For the LORD has poured out on you the spirit of deep sleep, and has closed your eyes: He has covered the prophets, your rulers, and the seers. ¹¹ And all the vision has become to you like the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one who is learned, saying, "Read this, I pray": And he said, "I cannot; for it is sealed." ¹² And the book is delivered to him who is not learned, saying, "Read this, I pray": And he said, "I am not learned." ¹³ Therefore the Lord said, "For as much as these people draw near Me with their mouths, and honor Me with their lips, but have removed their hearts far from Me, and their fear toward Me is taught by the precept of men: ¹⁴ Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvelous work among this people, even a marvelous work and a wonder: For the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid."

¹⁸ They have not known nor understood: For He has shut their eyes, that they cannot see; and their hearts, that they cannot understand.

¹⁸ O that you had listened to My commandments! Then had your peace been as a river, and your righteousness as the waves of the sea:

⁶ All of you seek the LORD while He may be found, call on Him while He is near:

³¹ Cast away all your transgressions from you, by which you have transgressed; and make yourself a new heart and a new spirit: For why will you die, O house of Israel? ³² For I have no pleasure in the death of him who dies", said the Lord GOD: "therefore turn yourselves, and live."

¹¹ Say to them, 'As I live', said the Lord GOD, 'I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: Turn yourself, turn from your evil ways; for why will you die, O house of Israel?'

¹⁴ And in them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled, which says, 'By hearing you shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing you shall see, and shall not perceive: ¹⁵ For this people's heart is waxed over, and their ears are dull of hearing, and they have closed their eyes; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.'

⁷⁷ to give knowledge of salvation to His people by the remission of their sins, ⁷⁸ through the tender mercy of our God; by which the Dayspring from on high has visited us, ⁷⁹ to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace."

⁵ And whatever house you enter into, first say, 'Peace be to this house.' ⁶ And if the son of peace is there, your peace shall rest upon it: If not, it shall return to you again.

⁴⁴ and shall level you even with the ground, and your children within you; and they shall not leave one stone upon another in you; because you did not know the time of your visitation."

³⁵ Then Jesus said to them, "A little while longer the light is with you. Walk while you have the light, lest darkness come upon you: For he who walks in darkness does not know where he goes. ³⁶ While you have light, believe in the light, that you may be the children of light." These things Jesus spoke, and departed, and hid Himself from them.

³⁸ That the saying of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spoke, "Lord, who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?" ³⁹ Therefore they could not believe, because that Isaiah said again, ⁴⁰ "He has blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them." ⁴¹ These things Isaiah said when he saw His glory, and spoke of Him.

⁴⁶ Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, "It was necessary that the Word of God should first have been spoken to you: But seeing you put it away from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, behold, we turn to the Gentiles.

²⁵ Now when they did not agree among themselves, they departed, after that Paul spoke one word, "The Holy Spirit spoke rightly through Isaiah the prophet to our fathers, ²⁶ saying, 'Go to this people, and say, "Hearing you shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing you shall see, and not perceive: ²⁷ For the heart of this people is waxed over, and their ears are dull of hearing, and they have closed their eyes; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them." '

⁷ What then? Israel has not obtained that which he seeks after; but the chosen have obtained it, and the rest were blinded. ⁸ (Even as it is written, "God has given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear); to this day." ⁹ And David says, "Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumbling-block, and a recompense to them: ¹⁰ Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, and bow down their back always."

¹⁴ But their minds were blinded: For till this day remains the same veil not taken away in the reading of the Old Testament; which veil is done away in Christ. ¹⁵ But even to this day, when Moses is read, the veil is upon their heart. ¹⁶ Nevertheless, when their heart shall turn to the Lord, the veil shall be taken away.

³ But if our gospel is hid, it is hid to those that are lost: ⁴ In whom the god of this world has blinded the minds of those who do not believe, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.

¹ We then, as workers together with Him, beseech you also that you do not receive the grace of God in vain. ² (For He said, "I have heard you in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation I have helped you": Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)

⁹ Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, ¹⁰ and with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in those that perish; because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. ¹¹ And for this reason God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: ¹² That they all might be damned who did not believe the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

⁷ Therefore (as the Holy Spirit says, "Today, if you will hear His voice,

¹³ But exhort one another daily, while it is called "Today"; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

¹⁵ while it is said, "Today, if you will hear His voice, do not harden your hearts, as in the provocation."

²⁶ For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more sacrifice for sins, ²⁷ but a certain fearful expectation of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. ²⁸ He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: ²⁹ Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, shall he be thought worthy, who has tread underfoot the Son of God, and has counted the blood of the covenant, with which he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and has extreme malice toward the Spirit of grace?

²⁴ and to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaks better things than that of Abel. ²⁵ See that you do not refuse Him that speaks. For if those who refused 'Him that spoke on earth' did not escape, much more we shall not escape, if we turn away from Him that speaks from heaven: ²⁶ Whose voice then shook the earth: But now He has promised, saying, "Yet once more I shake not only the earth, but also heaven."

⁴⁹ The LORD shall bring a nation against you from far, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flies; a nation whose tongue you shall not understand; ⁵⁰ A nation of fierce countenance, which shall not regard the person of the old, nor show favor to the young: ⁵¹ And he shall eat the fruit of your domestic beasts, and the fruit of your land, until you be destroyed: Which also shall not leave you either grain, wine, or oil, or the increase of your cows, or flocks of your sheep, until he have destroyed you. ⁵² And he shall besiege you in all your gates, until your high and fenced walls come down, in which you trusted, throughout all your land: And he shall besiege you in all your gates throughout all your land, which the LORD your God has given you. ⁵³ And you shall eat the fruit of your own body, the flesh of your sons and of your daughters, which the LORD your God has given you, in the siege, and in the narrow place, with which your enemies shall distress you: ⁵⁴ So that the man that is tender among you, and very delicate, his eye shall be evil toward his brother, and toward the wife of his bosom, and toward the remnant of his children which he shall leave: ⁵⁵ So that he will not give to any of them of the flesh of his children whom he shall eat: Because he has nothing left him in the siege, and in the narrow place, with which your enemies shall distress you in all your gates. ⁵⁶ The tender and delicate woman among you, which would not adventure to set the sole of her foot upon the ground for delicateness and tenderness, her eye shall be evil toward the husband of her bosom, and toward her son, and toward her daughter, ⁵⁷ and toward her young one that comes out from between her feet, and toward her children which she shall bear: For she shall eat them for want of all things secretly in the siege and narrow place, with which your enemy shall distress you in your gates. ⁵⁸ If you will not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that you may fear this glorious and fearful name, THE LORD THY GOD;

¹² The wicked plots against the just, and gnashes on him with his teeth. ¹³ The Lord shall laugh at him: For He sees that his day is coming.

¹ Woe to Ariel, to Ariel, the city where David dwelled! All of you add year to year; let them kill sacrifices. ² Yet I will distress Ariel, and there shall be heaviness and sorrow: And it shall be to me as Ariel. ³ And I will camp all around against you, and will lay siege against you with a mount, and I will raise forts against you. ⁴ And you shall be brought down, and shall speak out of the ground, and your speech shall be low out of the dust, and your voice shall be like one who has a familiar spirit, out of the ground, and your speech shall whisper out of the dust.

³³ Therefore thus says the LORD concerning the king of Assyria, 'He shall not come into this city, nor shoot an arrow there, nor come before it with shields, nor cast a siege mound against it.

³ The shepherds with their flocks shall come to her; they shall pitch their tents against her all around; they shall feed every one in his place. ⁴ Prepare yourselves for war against her; arise, and let us go up at noon. Woe to us! For the day goes away, for the shadows of the evening are outstretched. ⁵ Arise, and let us go by night, and let us destroy her palaces. ⁶ For thus has the LORD of hosts said, "Hew down trees, and cast a mount against Jerusalem: This is the city to be visited; she is wholly oppression in the midst of her.

² And lay siege against it, and build a fort against it, and cast a mount against it; set the camp also against it, and set battering rams against it on every side.

⁸ He shall slay your daughters in the field with the sword: And he shall make a fort against you, and cast a mount against you, and lift up the buckler shield against you.

²⁶ And after sixty-two weeks Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself: And the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end of it shall be with a flood, and until the end of the war desolations are determined. ²⁷ And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: And in the middle of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that which is determined shall be poured upon the desolate."

³⁷ O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you that kill the prophets, and stone those which are sent to you; how often I would have gathered your children together, even as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing! ³⁸ Behold, your house is left to you desolate. ³⁹ For I say to you, You shall not see me from this time forward, until you say, 'Blessed is He that comes in the name of the Lord.' "

¹⁴ "But when you see the 'abomination of desolation', spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not" (let him that reads understand), "Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains: ¹⁵ And let him who is on the housetop not go down into the house, neither enter in that place, to take anything out of his house: ¹⁶ And let him who is in the field not turn back again to pick up his garment. ¹⁷ But woe to those who are pregnant with child, and to those who are breastfeeding in those days! ¹⁸ And pray that your flight not be in the winter. ¹⁹ For in those days there shall be affliction, such as has not been since the beginning of the creation which God created until this time, nor shall be again. ²⁰ And unless the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh would be saved: But for the elect's sake, whom He has chosen, He has shortened the days.

²⁰ Moreover when you see Jerusalem compassed around with armies, then know that its desolation is near. ²¹ Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains; and let those who are in the midst of it depart out; and do not let those who are in the countries enter into it. ²² Because these are the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. ²³ But woe to those who are with child, and to those who breastfeed in those days! For there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people. ²⁴ And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: And Jerusalem shall be trodden down by the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.

⁷ Then will I cut off Israel out of the land which I have given them; and this house, which I have hallowed for my name, will I cast out of my sight; and Israel shall be a proverb and a byword among all people: ⁸ And at this house, which is high, everyone that passes by it shall be astonished, and shall hiss; and they shall say, "Why has the LORD done thus to this land, and to this house?

⁹ Happy shall he be, that takes and dashes your little ones against the stones.

⁸ Jerusalem has grievously sinned; therefore she is removed: All who honored her despise her, because they have seen her nakedness: Yes, she sighs, and turns backward.

²⁴ Seventy weeks are determined upon your people and upon your holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the Most Holy.

¹² Therefore for your sake Zion shall be plowed as a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of the forest.

³⁷ O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you that kill the prophets, and stone those which are sent to you; how often I would have gathered your children together, even as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing! ³⁸ Behold, your house is left to you desolate.

² And Jesus said to them, "Do you not see all these things? Truly I say to you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down."

⁶⁸ "Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for He has visited and redeemed His people,

⁷⁸ through the tender mercy of our God; by which the Dayspring from on high has visited us,

⁴² saying, "If you had known, even you, at least in this day, the things which relate to your peace! But now they are hid from your eyes.

⁶ "As for these things which you behold, the days will come, in which there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down."

¹⁸ He that believes in Him is not condemned: But he that does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. ¹⁹ And this is the condemnation, that light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. ²⁰ For everyone that does evil hates the light, neither comes to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. ²¹ But he who does truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are worked in God."

¹² having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: That while they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.

²⁵ Then you shall turn it into money, and bind up the money in your hand, and shall go to the place which the LORD your God shall choose: ²⁶ And you shall bestow that money for whatever your soul lusts after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatever your soul desires: And you shall eat there before the LORD your God, and you shall rejoice, you, and your household,

¹² And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all those who sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of those who sold doves, ¹³ and said to them, "It is written, 'My house shall be called the house of prayer'; But you have made it a 'den of thieves.' "

¹⁵ Then they came to Jerusalem: And Jesus went into the temple, and began to drive out those who sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the money changers, and the seats of those who sold doves; ¹⁶ and would not permit any man to carry any vessel through the temple. ¹⁷ Then He taught, saying to them, "Is it not written, 'My house shall be called the house of prayer of all nations'? But you have made it a 'den of thieves.' "

¹³ Then the Jews' Passover was at hand; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem, ¹⁴ and found in the temple those who sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the money changers sitting: ¹⁵ And when He had made a lash of small cords, He drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers' money, and overthrew the tables; ¹⁶ and He said to those who sold doves, "Take these things from this place; do not make My Father's house a house of merchandise." ¹⁷ And His disciples remembered that it was written, "The zeal for Your house has eaten Me up."

⁵ Your testimonies are very sure: Holiness beautifies Your house, O LORD, forever.

⁷ even those I will bring to My holy mountain, and make them joyful in My house of prayer: Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted on my altar; for My house shall be called a house of prayer for all people."

¹¹ Has this house, which is called by My name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, even I have seen it", said the LORD.

¹² This is the law of the house; Upon the top of the mountain, the whole limit of it all around shall be most holy. Behold, this is the law of the house.

⁷ He is a merchant, the balances of deceit are in his hand: He loves to oppress.

²³ And when He came into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came to Him as He was teaching, and said, "By what authority do you do these things? And who gave You this authority?"

³ Then the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders of the people assembled together at the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas, ⁴ and consulted that they might take Jesus through cunning, and kill Him.

⁵⁵ In that same hour Jesus said to the multitudes, "Have you come out as against a thief with swords and wooden staffs to take Me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and you did not lay hold of Me.

¹⁸ And the scribes and chief priests heard it, and sought how they might destroy Him: For they feared Him, because all the people were astonished at His doctrine.

²⁷ Then they came again to Jerusalem: And as He was walking in the temple, the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders came to Him, ²⁸ And they said to Him, "By what authority do you do these things? And who gave You this authority to do these things?" ²⁹ And Jesus answered and said to them, "I will also ask you one question, and answer Me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things. ³⁰ The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or from men? Answer Me." ³¹ And they reasoned among themselves, saying, "If we say, 'From heaven'; He will say, 'Why then did you not believe him?' ³² But if we say, 'From men' "; they feared the people: For all men counted John, that he was a prophet indeed. ³³ Therefore they answered and said to Jesus, "We cannot tell." And Jesus answered and said to them, "Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things."

¹² And they sought to lay hold of Him, but feared the people: For they knew that He had spoken the parable against them: And they left Him, and went their way.

¹ After two days it was the Feast of the Passover, and of Unleavened Bread: And the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might take Him by craftiness, and put Him to death.

³⁷ And in the daytime He was teaching in the temple; and at night He went out, and abode in the mount that is called The Mount of Olives. ³⁸ Then early in the morning all the people came to Him in the temple, to hear Him.

¹⁹ Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keeps the law? Why do you go about to kill Me?"

⁴⁴ Moreover some of them would have taken Him; but no man laid hands on Him.

³⁷ I know that you are Abraham's seed; but you seek to kill Me, because My word has no place in you. ³⁸ I speak that which I have seen with My Father: And you do that which you have seen with your father." ³⁹ They answered and said to Him, "Abraham is our father." Jesus said to them, "If you were Abraham's children, you would do the works of Abraham. ⁴⁰ But now you seek to kill Me, a Man that has told you the truth, which I have heard from God: Abraham did not do this.

³⁹ Therefore they sought again to apprehend Him: But He escaped out of their hand,

⁵³ Then, from that day forward they took counsel together with the intent to put Him to death. ⁵⁴ Therefore Jesus no longer walked openly among the Jews; but went from there to a country near the wilderness, into a city called Ephraim, and there continued with His disciples. ⁵⁵ And the Jews' Passover was near at hand: And many went out of the country up to Jerusalem before the Passover, to purify themselves. ⁵⁶ Then they sought Jesus, and spoke among themselves, as they stood in the temple, "What do you think, that He will not come to the feast?" ⁵⁷ Now both the chief priests and the Pharisees had given a commandment, that if any man knew where He was, he should tell it, that they might apprehend Him.

²⁰ Jesus answered him, "I spoke openly to the world; I ever taught in the synagogue, and in the temple, where the Jews always assemble; and in secret I have said nothing.

³ And he read in it before the street that was before the water gate from the morning until midday, before the men and the women, and those that could understand; and the ears of all the people were attentive to the book of the law.

¹⁵ Then the Pharisees went, and took counsel how they might entangle Him in His speech. ¹⁶ And they sent out to Him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, "Master, we know that You are true, and teach the way of God in truth; neither do you care for any man: For You do not regard the person of men.

¹⁹ And that same hour the chief priests and the scribes sought to lay hands on Him; but they feared the people: For they perceived that He had spoken this parable against them. ²⁰ Therefore they watched Him, and sent forth spies, who would feign themselves just men, that they might take hold of His words, so that they might deliver Him to the power and authority of the governor.

² And the chief priests and scribes sought how they might kill Him; for they feared the people. ³ Then Satan entered into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being numbered as one of the twelve. ⁴ And he went his way, and communed with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray Him to them.

⁴⁶ The officers answered, "No man ever spoke like this Man." ⁴⁷ Then the Pharisees answered them, "Are you also deceived? ⁴⁸ Have any of the rulers or the Pharisees believed on Him? ⁴⁹ But this people who does not know the law are cursed."

¹⁴ Then a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, from the city of Thyatira, who worshiped God, heard us: Whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended to the things which were spoken by Paul.
