1 And it came to pass, that on one of those days, as He taught the people in the temple, and preached the gospel, the chief priests and the scribes came upon Him with the elders,
2 and spoke to Him, saying, "Tell us, by what authority do You do these things? Or whom is he that gave You this authority?"
3 And He answered and said to them, "I will also ask you one thing; and answer Me:
4 The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or from men?"
5 And they reasoned among themselves, saying, "If we say, 'From heaven'; He will say, 'Why then did you not believe him?'
6 But if we say, 'From men'; all the people will stone us: For they are persuaded that John was a prophet."
7 Therefore they answered that they could not tell where it was from.
8 And Jesus said to them, "Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things."
9 Then He began to tell the people this parable: "A certain man planted a vineyard, leased it to vinedressers, and went into a far country for a long time.
10 And in due season he sent a servant to the vinedressers, that they should give him some of the fruit of the vineyard: But the vinedressers beat him, and sent him away empty handed.
11 And again he sent another servant: And they beat him also, treated him shamefully, and sent him away empty handed.
12 And again he sent a third: And they wounded him also, and cast him out.
13 Then the lord of the vineyard said, 'What shall I do? I will send my beloved son: It may be they will reverence him when they see him.'
14 But when the vinedressers saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, 'This is the heir; come, let us kill him, that the inheritance may be ours.'
15 So they cast him out of the vineyard, and killed him. Therefore, what shall the lord of the vineyard do to them?
16 He shall come and destroy those vinedressers, and shall give the vineyard to others." And when they heard it, they said, "God forbid."
17 Moreover He beheld them, and said, "What is this then that is written, 'The stone which the builders rejected, the same has become the head of the corner'?
18 Whoever falls upon that stone shall be broken: But on whomever it falls, it will grind him to powder."
19 And that same hour the chief priests and the scribes sought to lay hands on Him; but they feared the people: For they perceived that He had spoken this parable against them.
20 Therefore they watched Him, and sent forth spies, who would feign themselves just men, that they might take hold of His words, so that they might deliver Him to the power and authority of the governor.
21 Then they asked Him, saying, "Master, we know that You say and teach rightly, neither do You revere the person of any, but teach the way of God in truth:
22 Is it lawful for us to give tribute to Caesar, or not?"
23 But He perceived their craftiness, and said to them, "Why do you tempt Me?
24 Show Me a silver coin. Whose image and inscription does it have?" They answered and said, "Caesar's."
25 And He said to them, "Render therefore to Caesar the things which are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's."
26 Therefore they could not take hold of His words in front of the people: And they marveled at His answer, and held their peace.
27 Then certain Sadducees came to Him, which deny that there is any resurrection; and they asked Him,
28 saying, "Master, Moses wrote to us that if any man's brother dies while still having a wife, and he dies without children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed to his brother.
29 There were then seven brothers: And the first took a wife, and died without children.
30 And the second took her as wife, and he died childless.
31 Then the third took her; and in like manner the seven also: And they left no children, and died.
32 Last of all the woman died also.
33 Therefore, in the resurrection whose wife of them is she? For all seven had her as wife."
34 Then Jesus answering said to them, "The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage:
35 But those who shall be counted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage:
36 Neither can they die anymore: For they are equal to the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection.
37 Now Moses even told at the bush that the dead are raised, when he called the Lord 'the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.'
38 For He is not a God of the dead, but of the living: For all live to Him."
39 Then certain ones of the scribes answering said, "Master, You have spoken well."
40 Moreover, after that they dared not ask Him any question at all.
41 And He said to them, "How can they say that Christ is David's Son?
42 Even David himself said in the Book of Psalms, 'The LORD said to my Lord, "Sit at My right hand,
43 until I make Your enemies Your footstool." '
44 David therefore called Him 'Lord'; how then is He his Son?"
45 Then, in the audience of all the people He said to His disciples,
46 "Beware of the scribes, which desire to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the markets, and the highest seats in the synagogues, and the chief rooms at feasts;
47 which devour widows' houses, and for a show make long prayers: The same shall receive greater damnation."

11 According to the sentence of the law which they shall teach you, and according to the judgment which they shall tell you, you shall do: You shall not decline from the sentence which they shall show you, to the right hand side, nor to the left.
12 And the man that will do presumptuously, and will not listen to the priest that stands to minister there before the LORD your God, or to the judge, even that man shall die: And you shall put away the evil from Israel.
13 And all the people shall hear, and fear, and do no more presumptuously.
14 When you have come to the land which the LORD your God gives you, and shall possess it, and shall dwell in it, and shall say, "I will set a king over me, like as all the nations that are about me;
15 you shall in any wise set him king over you, whom the LORD your God shall choose: One from among your brothers shall you set king over you: You may not set a stranger over you, which is not your brother.
Psalms 80:8-14
8 You have brought a vine out of Egypt: You have cast out the heathen, and planted it.
9 You prepared a place before it, and caused it to take deep root, and it filled the land.
10 The hills were covered with its shadow, and its boughs were like the mighty cedars.
11 She sent out her boughs to the sea, and her branches to the river.
12 Why then have You broken down her hedges, so that all those who pass by the way pluck her?
13 The boar out of the woods destroys it, and the wild beast of the field devours it.
14 Return, we beseech You, O God of hosts: Look down from heaven, and behold, and visit this vine;
Song of Songs 8:11-12
Isaiah 5:1-7
1 Now I will sing to my well Beloved a song of my Beloved touching His vineyard. My well Beloved has a vineyard in a very fruitful hill:
2 And He fenced it, and gathered out the stones of it, and planted it with the choicest vine, and built a tower in the middle of it, and also made a winepress in it: And He expected that it should bring forth grapes, and it brought forth wild grapes.
3 "And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem, and men of Judah, I implore you, judge between Me and My vineyard.
4 What more could have been done to My vineyard, that I have not done in it? Why, when I expected that it should bring forth grapes, it brought forth wild grapes?
5 And now come; I will tell you what I will do to My vineyard: I will take away its hedge, and it shall be eaten up; and break down the wall of it, and it shall be trodden down:
6 And I will lay it waste: It shall not be pruned, nor dug; but there shall come up briers and thorns: I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain on it.
7 For the vineyard of the LORD of hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah His pleasant plant: And He looked for judgment, but behold oppression; for righteousness, but behold a cry.
Jeremiah 2:21
21 Yet I had planted you a noble vine, wholly a right seed: How then are you turned into the degenerate plant of a strange vine to me?
Matthew 21:33-46
33 Hear another parable: There was a certain householder who planted a vineyard, and hedged it all around, and dug a winepress in it, and built a tower, and leased it out to vinedressers, and went into a far country:
34 Now when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the vinedressers, that they might receive the fruit of it.
35 But the vinedressers took his servants, and beat one, killed another, and stoned yet another.
36 Again, he sent other servants more than the first: And they did likewise to them.
37 But last of all he sent his son to them, saying, 'They will reverence my son.'
38 But when the vinedressers saw the son, they said among themselves, 'This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance.'
39 And they caught him, and cast him out of the vineyard, and slew him.
40 Therefore when the lord of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those vinedressers?
41 They said to Him, "He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will lease out his vineyard to other vinedressers, which shall give him the fruits in their seasons."
42 Jesus said to them, "Have you never read in the scriptures: 'The stone which the builders rejected, the same has become the head of the corner: This is the LORD'S doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes'?
43 Therefore I say to you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits of it.
44 And whoever falls on this stone shall be broken: But on whomever it falls, it will grind him to powder."
45 And when the chief priests and Pharisees had heard His parables, they perceived that He spoke about them.
46 But when they sought to lay hands on Him, they feared the multitude, because they held Him as a prophet.
Matthew 25:14
14 For the kingdom of heaven is like a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered his goods to them.
Mark 12:1-12
1 Then He began to speak to them in parables. "A certain man planted a vineyard, and set a hedge around it, dug a place for the wine vat, and built a tower; and he leased it to vinedressers, and went into a far country.
2 And when the season came he sent a servant to the vinedressers, that he might receive some of the fruit of the vineyard from the vinedressers.
3 And they took him, and beat him, and sent him away empty handed.
4 Yet again he sent another servant to them; and they cast stones at him, wounded him in the head, and sent him away shamefully treated.
5 And again he sent another; and him they killed, and many others; beating some, and killing some.
6 Therefore still having one son, his well-beloved, he also sent him to them last, saying, 'They will reverence my son.'
7 But those vinedressers said among themselves, 'This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance will be ours.'
8 Then they took him, and killed him, and cast him out of the vineyard.
9 Therefore what shall the lord of the vineyard do? He will come and destroy the vinedressers, and will give the vineyard to others.
10 And have you not read this scripture; 'The stone which the builders rejected has become the head of the corner:
11 This was the Lord's doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes'? "
12 And they sought to lay hold of Him, but feared the people: For they knew that He had spoken the parable against them: And they left Him, and went their way.
Luke 19:12
12 Therefore He said, "A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.
John 15:1-8
1 "I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser.
2 Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away: And every branch that bears fruit, He purges it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
3 Now you are clean through the word which I have spoken to you.
4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine; no more can you, unless you abide in Me.
5 I am the vine, you are the branches: He that abides in Me, and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit: For without Me you can do nothing.
6 If a man does not abide in Me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you shall ask what you will, and it shall be done to you.
8 In this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so shall you be My disciples.
1 Corinthians 3:6-9
6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.
7 So then neither he that plants is anything, nor he that waters; but God that gives the increase.
8 Now he that plants and he that waters are one: And every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labor.
9 For we are laborers together with God: You are God's tillage, you are God's building.

9 and I delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of all that oppressed you, and drove them out from before you, and gave you their land;
10 and I said to you, I am the LORD your God; fear not the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell: But you have not obeyed My voice.

21 And they conspired against him, and stoned him with stones at the commandment of the king in the court of the house of the LORD.
2 Chronicles 36:15-16
15 And the LORD God of their fathers sent to them by his messengers, rising up betimes, and sending; because he had compassion on his people, and on his dwelling place:

4 And the LORD has sent to you all his servants the prophets, rising early and sending them; but you have not listened, nor inclined your ear to hear.
5 They said, 'All of you turn now again, everyone from his evil way, and from the evil of your doings, and dwell in the land that the LORD has given to you and to your fathers forever and ever:
6 And do not go after other gods to serve them, and to worship them, and do not provoke Me to anger with the works of your hands; and I will do you no harm.'
7 Yet you have not listened to Me", said the LORD; "that you might provoke Me to anger with the works of your hands to your own hurt.

3 It may be they will listen, and every man turn from his evil way, that I may relent of the evil which I purpose to do to them because of the evil of their doings.'
4 And you shall say to them, 'Thus says the LORD; "If you will not listen to Me, to walk in My law, which I have set before you,
5 to listen to the words of My servants the prophets, whom I sent to you, both rising up early, and sending them, but you have not listened;
6 then I will make this house like Shiloh, and will make this city a curse to all the nations of the earth." ' "

20 And there was also a man that prophesied in the name of the LORD, Urijah the son of Shemaiah of Kirjathjearim, who prophesied against this city and against this land according to all the words of Jeremiah.
21 And when Jehoiakim the king, with all his mighty men, and all the princes, heard his words, the king sought to put him to death: But when Urijah heard it, he was afraid, and fled, and went into Egypt;
22 and Jehoiakim the king sent men into Egypt, namely, Elnathan the son of Achbor, and certain men with him into Egypt.
23 And they fetched forth Urijah out of Egypt, and brought him to Jehoiakim the king; who slew him with the sword, and cast his dead body into the graves of the common people.

6 For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.
Zechariah 1:3-6
3 Therefore say you to them, 'Thus says the LORD of hosts; "Turn to Me", says the LORD of hosts, "and I will turn to you", says the LORD of hosts.
4 "Do not be as your fathers, to whom the former prophets have cried out, saying, 'Thus says the LORD of hosts; "Turn now from your evil ways, and from your evil doings, all of you" ': But they did not hear, nor hearken to Me", says the LORD.

6 But My words and My statutes, which I commanded My servants the prophets, did they not take hold of your fathers? And they returned and said, 'As the LORD of hosts thought to do to us, according to our ways, and according to our doings, in this manner He has dealt with us.' "
Zechariah 7:9-13
9 "Thus speaks the LORD of hosts, saying, 'Execute true judgment, and show mercy and compassions, every man to his brother:
10 And do not oppress the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart.'
11 But they refused to hearken, and pulled away the shoulder, and stopped their ears, that they should not hear.
12 Yes, they made their hearts as an adamant stone, lest they should hear the law, and the words which the LORD of hosts has sent in His Spirit by the former prophets: Therefore a great wrath came from the LORD of hosts.
13 Therefore it has come to pass, that as He cried out, and they would not hear; so they cried out, and I would not hear", says the LORD of hosts:

33 You serpents, you generation of vipers, how can you escape the damnation of hell?
34 Therefore, behold, I send to you prophets, wise men, and scribes: And some of them you shall kill and crucify; and some of them you shall scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city:
35 That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom you slew between the temple and the altar.

11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought to also love one another.
12 No man has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwells in us, and His love is perfected in us.

14 And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Savior of the world.

30 Thus says the LORD, 'Write down this man as childless, a man who shall not prosper in his days: For no man of his seed shall prosper, sitting on the throne of David, and ruling anymore in Judah.' "
Judges 2:10
10 And also all that generation were gathered to their fathers: And there arose another generation after them, which did not know the LORD, nor yet the works which he had done for Israel.

5 For the living know that they shall die: But the dead do not know anything, neither do they have any more reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.

27 And as it is appointed to men once to die, but after this the judgment:
Matthew 22:24-28
24 saying, "Master, Moses said that if a man dies, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed to his brother.
25 Now there were with us seven brothers: After the first had married a wife, he died, and having no offspring, left his wife to his brother:
26 Likewise the second also, and the third, until the seventh.
27 And last of all, the woman died also.
28 Therefore in the resurrection whose wife of the seven shall she be? For they all had her."
Mark 12:19-23
19 "Master, Moses wrote to us that if any man's brother dies, and leaves his wife behind, and leaves no children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed to his brother.
20 Now there were seven brothers: And the first took a wife; and dying left no seed.
21 And the second took her, and died, and he did not leave any seed either: And the third likewise.
22 Even all seven had her, and left no seed: Last of all the woman died also.
23 Therefore, in the resurrection when they rise, whose wife shall she be of them? For all seven had her as wife."

1 Corinthians 7:2-16
2 Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.
3 Let the husband render to the wife due benevolence; and likewise also the wife to the husband.
4 The wife does not have power of her own body, but the husband does: And likewise also the husband does not have power of his own body, but the wife does.
5 Do not defraud one another, except if it be with consent for a time, that you may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan does not tempt you through your lack of self-control.
6 But I speak this by permission, and not as a commandment.
7 For I would have that all men were even as I myself. But every man has his proper gift from God, one in this manner, and another in that.
8 Therefore, I say to the unmarried and widows, it is good for them if they abide even as I.
9 But if they cannot contain themselves, let them marry: For it is better to marry than to burn.
10 Now to the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, let not the wife depart from her husband:
11 But even if she does depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband: And do not let the husband put away his wife.
12 But to the rest I, not the Lord, say: If any brother has a wife that does not believe, and she is pleased to dwell with him, let him not put her away.
13 And the woman which has a husband that does not believe, if he is pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him.
14 Because the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: Otherwise your children are unclean; but now they are holy.
15 But if the unbeliever departs, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: But God has called us to peace.
16 For how do you know, O wife, whether you shall save your husband? Or how do you know, O man, whether you shall save your wife?

Romans 8:17-23
17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if as should be we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.
18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waits for the manifestation of the sons of God.
20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of Him who has subjected the same in hope,
21 because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
22 For we know that the whole creation groans and travails in pain together until now.
23 And not only they, but we ourselves also, who have the first-fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, that is, the redemption of our body.

49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.
1 Corinthians 15:52-54
52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: For the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
54 So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, "Death is swallowed up in victory."
Philippians 3:21
21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able to even subdue all things to Himself.
1 Thessalonians 4:13-17
13 But I would not like you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who are deceased, that you do not sorrow, even as others who have no hope.
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those which are also deceased in Jesus.
15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord shall not precede those which are deceased.
16 For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: And the dead in Christ shall rise first.
17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: And so shall we be with the Lord evermore.
1 John 3:1-2
1 Behold, what manner of love the Father has bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.

Revelation 5:6-14
6 And I beheld, and lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.
7 Then He came and took the book out of the right hand of Him that sat upon the throne.
8 And when He had taken the book, the four beasts and twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, every one of them having harps, and golden vials full of incense, which are the prayers of saints.
9 And they sang a new song, saying, "You are worthy to take the book, and to open its seals: For You were slain, and have redeemed us to God by Your blood out of every tribe, and tongue, and people, and nation;
10 and have made us kings and priests to our God: And we shall reign on the earth."
11 Then I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels all around the throne, and the beasts, and the elders: And the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;
12 saying with a loud voice, "Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honor, and glory, and blessing."
13 And I heard every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, saying, "Blessing, and honor, and glory, and power, be to Him that sits upon the throne, and to the Lamb forever and ever."

11 And all the angels stood all around the throne, and around the elders and the four beasts, and fell on their faces before the throne, and worshiped God,
12 saying, "Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honor, and power, and might, be to our God forever and ever. Amen."

3 And there shall be no more curse: But the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and His servants shall serve Him:
4 And they shall see His face; and His name shall be in their foreheads.
5 And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God gives them light: And they shall reign forever and ever.

2 And the angel of the LORD appeared to him in a flame of fire out of the middle of a bush: And he looked, and behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.
3 And Moses said, "I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt."
4 And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called to him out of the middle of the bush, and said, "Moses, Moses." And he said, "Here I am."
5 And he said, "Do not draw near here: Put off your shoes from your feet, for the place on which you stand is holy ground."
6 Moreover he said, "I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob." And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God.

5 But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise:
6 And the rest took his servants, treated them spitefully, and slew them.
7 But when the king heard about it, he was wroth: And he sent forth his armies, destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.
8 Then he said to his servants, 'The wedding is ready, but those who were invited were not worthy.
9 Therefore go into the highways, and as many as you shall find, invite to the marriage.'
10 So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together as many as they all found, both bad and good: And the wedding was furnished with guests.
11 But when the king came in to see the guests, he saw a man there who did not have on a wedding garment:
12 And he said to him, 'Friend, how did you come in here not having a wedding garment?' And he was speechless.
13 Then the king said to the servants, 'Bind him hand and foot, take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.'

20 And He said to them, "Whose image and inscription is this?"
21 They said to Him, "Caesar's." Then He said to them, "Render therefore to Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and to God the things that are God's."

5 The LORD is the portion of my inheritance and of my cup: You maintain my lot.
6 The lines are fallen to me in pleasant places; yes, I have a goodly heritage.
7 I will bless the LORD, who has given me counsel: My inner reins also instruct me in the night seasons.
8 I have set the LORD always before me: Because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices: My flesh also shall rest in hope.
10 For You will not leave my soul in hell; neither will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.

35 Then one of them, who was a lawyer, asked Him a question, tempting Him, and saying,
36 "Master, which is the greatest commandment in the law?"
37 Jesus said to him, " 'You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.'

30 And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength': This is the first commandment.
31 And the second is alike, namely this, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these."
32 Therefore the scribe said to Him, "Well said, Master, You have spoken the truth: For there is one God; and there is no other but He:
33 And to love Him with all the heart, with all the understanding, with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbor as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices."
34 Then when Jesus saw that he answered prudently, He said to him, "You are not far from the kingdom of God." And after that no man dared ask Him any question.
