¹³ Thus when it shall be in the middle of the land among the people, there shall be as the shaking of an olive tree, and as the gleaning grapes when the vintage is done.

⁹ Except the LORD of hosts had left to us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like Gomorrah.

¹³ But yet in it shall be a tenth, and it shall return, and shall be consumed: As a teil tree, and as an oak, whose substance is in them, when they cast their leaves: So the holy seed shall be the substance of it."

²⁰ And it shall come to pass in that day, that the remnant of Israel, and such as have escaped of the house of Jacob, shall lean no more again on him that smote them; but shall lean on the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, in truth. ²¹ The remnant shall return, even the remnant of Jacob, to the mighty God. ²² For though your people Israel are as the sand of the sea, yet a remnant of them shall return: The decreed destruction shall overflow with righteousness.

⁵ And it shall be as when the harvestman gathers the grain, and reaps the ears with his arm; and it shall be as he who gathers ears in the valley of Rephaim. ⁶ Yet gleaning grapes shall be left in it, as the shaking of an olive tree, two or three berries in the top of the uppermost bough, four or five in the outmost fruitful branches of it", said the LORD God of Israel.

²⁸ Yet a small number who escape the sword shall return out of the land of Egypt into the land of Judah, and all the remnant of Judah, who have gone into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, shall know whose words shall stand, Mine, or their's.

⁸ Yet I will leave a remnant, that you may have some who shall escape the sword among the nations, when you shall be scattered through the countries. ⁹ And those of you who escape shall remember Me among the nations where they shall be carried captives, because I am broken with their whorish heart, which has departed from Me, and with their eyes, which go a whoring after their idols: And they shall loathe themselves for the evils which they have committed in all their abominations. ¹⁰ And they shall know that I am the LORD, and that I have not said in vain that I would do this evil to them." ¹¹ Thus says the Lord GOD; "Smite with your hand, and stamp with your foot, and say, 'Alas for all the evil abominations of the house of Israel! For they shall fall by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence.

¹⁶ But those of them who escape shall survive, and shall be upon the mountains like doves of the valleys, all of them mourning, everyone for his iniquity.

⁴ and the LORD said to him, "Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark on the foreheads of the men that sigh and who cry for all the abominations that are done in the midst of it." ⁵ And to the others He said in my hearing, "Go after him through the city, and smite: Do not let your eye spare, neither have pity: ⁶ Utterly slay old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: But do not come near any man on whom is the mark; and begin at My sanctuary." Then they began at the elderly men who were before the house.

¹⁶ Therefore say, 'Thus says the Lord GOD; "Although I have cast them far off among the heathen, and although I have scattered them among the countries, yet I will be to them like a little sanctuary in the countries where they shall come." ' ¹⁷ Therefore say, 'Thus says the Lord GOD; "I will even gather you from the people, and assemble you out of the countries where you have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel." ' ¹⁸ And they shall come there, and they shall take away all the detestable things of it and all its abominations from there. ¹⁹ And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them a heart of flesh: ²⁰ That they may walk in My statutes, and keep My ordinances, and do them: And they shall be My people, and I will be their God.

²² Yet, behold, there shall be left a remnant in it that shall be brought forth, both sons and daughters: Behold, they shall come forth to you, and you shall see their way and their doings: And you shall be comforted concerning the evil that I have brought on Jerusalem, even concerning all that I have brought on it. ²³ And they shall comfort you, when you see their ways and their doings: And you shall know that I have not done all that I have done in it without cause", said the Lord GOD.

¹² I will surely assemble, O Jacob, all of you; I will surely gather the remnant of Israel; I will put them together as the sheep of Bozrah, as the flock in the midst of their fold: They shall make great noise by reason of the multitude of men.

²² And unless those days are shortened, no flesh would be saved: But for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

² God has not cast away His people whom He foreknew. Do you not know what the scripture says of Elijah? How he makes intercession to God against Israel, saying, ³ "LORD, they have killed Your prophets, and torn down Your altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life." ⁴ But what does God say to answer him? "I have reserved for Myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal." ⁵ Even so then, at this present time there is also a remnant according to the election of grace. ⁶ And if by grace, then it is no longer of works: Otherwise grace is no longer grace. But if it is of works, then it is no longer grace: Otherwise work is no longer work.

⁴ You have a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with Me in white: For they are worthy.

² But leave out the court which is outside the temple, and do not measure it; for it is given to the Gentiles: And they shall tread the holy city under foot for forty-two months. ³ And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy one thousand two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth."
