³ that driue away the asse of the fatherlesse, that take the wyddowes oxe for a pledge:

⁶ No man shal take the neather or the vppermylstone to pledge, for then he taketh a mans lyfe to pledge.

¹⁰ If thou lende thy brother any maner socoure, thou shalt not go in to hys house to fetche a pledge: ¹¹ but shalt stande without & the man to whom thou lendest, shall brynge the pledge out at the dore. ¹² Forthermore yf it be a pore body, go not to slepe wt hys pledg ¹³ but delyuer hym the pledge agayne by that the sonne go doune, & let him slepe in hys awne rayment and blesse the. And it shalbe ryghteousnes vnto the, before the Lord thy god.

¹⁷ Hynder not the ryght of the straunger nor of the fatherlesse, nor take wedowes rayment to pledge. ¹⁸ But remembre that thou wast a seruaunte in Egypte, and how the Lord thy God delyuered the thence. Wherfore I commaunde the to do this thyng. ¹⁹ When thou cuttest doune thy herueste in the feeld & hast forgotte a shefe in the feelde thou shalt not go agayne and fett it: But it shalbe for the straunger, the fatherlesse & the wydowe, that the Lord thy God may blesse the in all the workes of thyne hande. ²⁰ When thou beatest doune thyne olyue trees thou shalt not make cleane riddaunce after the: but it shalbe for the straunger, the fatherlesse & the wydowe. ²¹ And when thou gatherest they venyarde, thou shalt not gather cleane after the: but it shalbe for the straunger, the fatherlesse & the wyddow.

³ Behold here I am: answere me before the Lorde & before his annoynted, whose oxe haue I taken? or whose asse haue I taken? whom haue I done wrong to? or whom haue I pylled? And of whose hand haue I receiued any bribe, to blynde myne eyes therewith? & I wyll restore it you agayne.

⁶ thou hast taken the pledge from thy brethren for nought and robbed the naked of their clothing. ⁷ To suche as were wery, hast thou geuen no water to drincke, thou hast withdrawen bread from the hungry. ⁸ Shoulde suche one then as vseth violence, wrong and oppression (doing al thing of parcialite, and hauinge respecte of personnes) dwel in the lande? ⁹ Thou hast sent wyddowes away emptye and oppressed the poore fatherlesse.

¹⁶ When the poore desyreth any thinge at me, haue I denyed it them? Haue I caused the wyddowe stande wayting for me in vayne? ¹⁷ Haue I eaten my porcyon alone, that the fatherlesse hath had no parte wyth me?
