¹ And after six days Jesus takes with him Peter and James and John his brother, and privately brings them up into a high mountain.

² And after six days Jesus takes with him Peter and James and John and brings them up alone into a high mountain privately, and he was transfigured before them; ³ and his garments became gleaming, exceedingly white like snow, such-as no launderer upon the earth is able to whiten. ⁴ And Elijah, together with Moses, appeared to them, and they were speaking together with Jesus.
⁵ And Peter answered and says to Jesus, Rabbi, it is good for us to be here, and we should make three tabernacles; one for you and one for Moses and one for Elijah. ⁶ For he did not know what he would say; for they were fearful.
⁷ And there became a cloud overshadowing them, and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son; hear him! ⁸ And suddenly, having looked around, they saw no one anymore, but only Jesus with themselves.
⁹ Now while coming down from the mountain, he ordered them in order that they should describe to no one what they saw, except whenever the Son of Man rises up from the dead. ¹⁰ And they took-hold of the word for themselves, debating together with themselves, What is the rising up from the dead? ¹¹ And they asked him, saying, How is it that the scribes say that it is essential for Elijah to come first?
¹² But he answered and said to them, Elijah indeed comes first and restores all things, and how it has been written of the Son of Man, in order that he should suffer many things and should be scorned? ¹³ But I am saying to you, that Elijah has come, and they have also done to him as many things as they willed, just-as it has been written of him.

⁵¹ Now having entered into the house, he allowed no one to enter it, except Peter and John and James, and the father and the mother of the child.

²⁸ Now it happened approximately eight days after these words, that he took with him Peter and John and James, and went up into the mountain to pray. ²⁹ And while he was praying, the form of his face was a different form, and his garments became white and dazzling. ³⁰ And behold, two men were speaking together with him, who were Moses and Elijah; ³¹ who appeared in glory, and were telling of his exodus which he was about to fulfill in Jerusalem. ³² Now Peter and those who were together with him were heavy with sleep; but then having thoroughly awaken, they saw his glory and the two men standing together with him.
³³ And it happened, while they were separating from him, Peter said to Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here, and we should make three tabernacles: one for you and one for Moses and one for Elijah; (not knowing exactly what he is saying).
³⁴ Now while saying these things, there became a cloud and overshadowed them, and they feared while those men were entering into the cloud. ³⁵ And a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son; hear him. ³⁶ And while the voice happened, Jesus was found alone. And they were silent and reported to no one in those days, any of the things which they had seen.

¹ This will be the third-time I am coming to you. (Upon the mouth of two or three witnesses every declaration will be established.)

¹⁸ And we heard this voice, having been carried from heaven, being together with him in the holy mountain.
