³ If You will keep iniquities, O Jehovah, O Lord, who shall stand?

² Truly I know it is so; but how can man be just with God? ³ If he would argue with Him, he cannot answer Him one of a thousand.

²⁰ If I justify myself, my mouth will condemn me; though I am perfect, He shall declare me perverse;

¹⁴ If I sin, then You watch me; and You will not acquit me from my guilt.

¹⁴ What is man that he should be clean? And he born of a woman, that he should be righteous?

⁷ You, even You, are terrifying; and who can stand before You when You are angry?

² and do not enter into judgment with Your servant; for not anyone living is just in Your sight.

⁶ All we like sheep have gone astray; we have each one turned to his own way; and Jehovah made meet in Him the iniquity of all of us.

⁶ Who can stand before His fury? And who can rise against the heat of His anger? His wrath is poured out like fire, and the rocks are broken down because of Him.

² But who can endure the day of His coming? And who will stand when He appears? For He is like a refiner's fire and like fuller's soap.

⁷ But as they continued questioning Him, bending back up, He said to them, The one among you without sin, let him cast the first stone at her. ⁸ And bending down again, He wrote in the earth. ⁹ But hearing, and being convicted by the conscience, they went out one by one, beginning from the older ones, until the last. And Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the middle.

²⁰ Because by works of law not one of all flesh will be justified before Him, for through law is full knowledge of sin. Psa. 143:2 ²¹ But now a righteousness of God has been revealed apart from Law, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, ²² even the righteousness of God through faith of Jesus Christ toward all and upon all those believing; for there is no difference, ²³ for all sinned and fall short of the glory of God, ²⁴ being justified freely by His grace through the redemption in Christ Jesus,

¹⁷ because the great day of His wrath has come; and who is able to stand?
