¹ And Jehovah spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying to them, ² Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, These are the living things which you shall eat out of all the animals which are on the earth. ³ Any that divides the hoof and is wholly clovenfooted, bringing up the cud, among the living things, you may eat it. ⁴ Only, you may not eat these, of those bringing up the cud, and of those dividing the hoof: the camel, though it brings up the cud, yet it does not divide the hoof; it is unclean to you; ⁵ and the rock badger, though it brings up the cud, yet it does not divide the hoof; it is unclean to you; ⁶ and the hare, though it brings up the cud, yet it does not divide the hoof; it is unclean to you; ⁷ and the swine, though it divides the hoof and is clovenfooted, yet it does not bring up the cud; it is unclean to you. ⁸ You shall not eat of their flesh, and you shall not touch their dead body; they are unclean to you. ⁹ Of all that are in the waters, you shall eat these; any one that has fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the torrents, you may eat them. ¹⁰ But any one that does not have fins and scales in the seas, and in the torrents, of any swarming creature of the waters, and of any creature which lives in the waters; they are to be detested by you. ¹¹ Yes, they shall be detested by you; you shall not eat of their flesh and you shall shun their dead bodies. ¹² Any one that does not have fins and scales in the waters, it shall be an unclean thing to you. ¹³ And these you shall count unclean among the fowls; they shall not be eaten; they are unclean: the eagle, and the black vulture and the bearded vulture, ¹⁴ and the kite, and the falcon, according to its kind; ¹⁵ every raven according to its kind; ¹⁶ and the ostrich, and the great owl, and the gull, and small hawks, according to its kind ¹⁷ and the little owl, and the cormorant, and the eared owl; ¹⁸ and the barn owl, and the pelican and the owl-vulture; ¹⁹ and the stork, the heron according to its kind, and the hoopoe, and the bat. ²⁰ Every flying swarming creature going on all four, it is an abomination to you. ²¹ Only, this you may eat of any swarming thing which flies, which goes on all four, which has legs above its feet, to leap with them on the earth; ²² these are those you may eat: the locusts according to its kind, and the bald locust according to its kind, and the long horned locust according to its kind, and the short horned grasshopper according to its kind. ²³ But every swarming thing which flies, which has four feet, it is unclean to you. ²⁴ And by these you shall be made unclean; any who touches their dead body is unclean until the evening. ²⁵ And anyone who lifts up their dead body shall wash his garments and shall be unclean until the evening; ²⁶ even every living thing which divides the hoof, and is not clovenfooted, and does not bring up the cud, they are unclean to you; anyone who touches them shall be unclean. ²⁷ And any going on its paws among all the living things which go on all four, they are unclean to you; anyone who touches their dead body is unclean until the evening; ²⁸ and he who lifts up their dead body shall wash his garments and shall be unclean until the evening; they are unclean to you. ²⁹ And these shall be unclean to you among the swarming things which swarm on the earth: the weasel, and the mouse, and the great lizard according to its kind, ³⁰ and the gecko, and the monitor, and the lizard, and the sand lizard, and the barn owl. ³¹ These are unclean to you among all which swarm; anyone who touches them in their death is unclean until the evening. ³² And anything on which any one of them falls in their death is unclean, whether of any vessel of wood, or garment, or skin, or sack; any vessel in which work is done shall be caused to go into water, and shall be unclean until the evening; then it shall be cleaned. ³³ Ad any earthen vessel into the midst of which any one of them falls, whatever is in it shall be unclean, and you shall break it. ³⁴ And of all the food which may be eaten, that on which such water falls shall be unclean, and all drink that may be drunk in any such vessel shall be unclean. ³⁵ And anything on which any part of their dead body falls shall be unclean; an oven or hearth shall be broken down; they are unclean; yes, they are unclean to you. ³⁶ But a fountain or a well, a collection of water, shall be clean; only that touching the dead body is unclean. ³⁷ And when any part of their dead body falls on any sowing seed which is sown, it shall be clean; ³⁸ but when water is put on the seed, and any of its dead body has fallen on it, it shall be unclean to you. ³⁹ And when any of the animals which are food for you dies, he who touches its dead body is unclean until the evening; ⁴⁰ and he who eats of its dead body shall wash his garments and shall be unclean until the evening; and he who lifts up its dead body shall wash his garments and shall be unclean until the evening. ⁴¹ And every swarming thing which swarms on the earth is unclean; it shall not be eaten; ⁴² Anything going on its belly, and any going on all four, and all having many feet, even every swarming thing that swarms on the earth, you shall not eat them, for they are unclean; ⁴³ you shall not pollute yourselves with any swarming thing which swarms, nor shall you make yourselves unclean with them, so that you should be defiled by them. ⁴⁴ For I am Jehovah your God, and you have sanctified yourselves, and you have become holy, for I am holy. And you shall not defile your persons with any swarming thing which creeps on the earth; ⁴⁵ for I am Jehovah who brought you up out of the land of Egypt to become your God; and you shall be holy, for I am holy. ⁴⁶ This is the law of the animals, and of the fowl, and of every living creature which moves in the waters, and every creature which swarms on the earth, ⁴⁷ to make a distinction between the unclean and the clean, and between the living thing that may be eaten and the living thing that may not be eaten.

⁴ Only, you may not eat these, of those bringing up the cud, and of those dividing the hoof: the camel, though it brings up the cud, yet it does not divide the hoof; it is unclean to you;

⁹ Of all that are in the waters, you shall eat these; any one that has fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the torrents, you may eat them.

¹¹ Yes, they shall be detested by you; you shall not eat of their flesh and you shall shun their dead bodies.

³ You shall not eat any abominable thing. ⁴ These are the animals which you shall eat: the ox, the flocked sheep, and the flocked goat, ⁵ the hart and gazelle, and roe deer, and wild goat, and antelope, and oryx, and moufflon. ⁶ And you may eat every animal that divides the hoof, and divides two hoofs wholly, and chews the cud among the animals. ⁷ But you shall not eat of those that only chew the cud, or those only dividing the cloven hoof: the camel, and the hare, and the rock badger; for they chew the cud but do not divide the hoof. They shall be unclean to you. ⁸ And the swine, because it divides the hoof, but does not chew the cud; it is unclean to you. You shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead body. ⁹ These you shall eat of all in the waters: you shall eat all that have fins and scales. ¹⁰ And whatever does not have fins and scales, you shall not eat. It shall be unclean to you. ¹¹ You shall eat of all clean birds. ¹² But you shall not eat of these: the eagle, the black vulture, and the bearded vulture, ¹³ and the hawk, and falcons, and the kite by its kinds, ¹⁴ and all ravens by their kinds; ¹⁵ and the ostrich, and the great owl, and the sea gull, and small hawks by their kinds, ¹⁶ the little owl, and the eared owl, and the barn owl, ¹⁷ and the pelican, and the owl, and the cormorant, ¹⁸ and the stork, and the heron after its kind, and the hoopoe, and the bat. ¹⁹ And every teeming thing that flies shall be unclean to you; they shall not be eaten. ²⁰ You may eat of all clean birds. ²¹ You shall not eat of anything that died of itself. You may give it to the alien who is within your gates, that he may eat it. Or you may sell it to a foreigner. For you are a holy people to Jehovah your God. You shall not simmer a kid in its mother's milk.

¹⁴ Then I said, Ah, Lord Jehovah! Behold, my soul has not been defiled. I have not even eaten a carcass or a torn animal, from my youth even until now. And unclean flesh has not come into my mouth.

⁸ And Daniel laid on his heart that he would not defile himself with the king's food, or with the wine of his drinking. So he asked of the chief of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.

¹¹ It is not that which has entered into the mouth that defiles the man, but that which has come out of the mouth, this defiles the man.

¹⁵ There is nothing from outside the man, having entered into him, which is able to defile him . But the things going out from him, those are the things defiling the man. ¹⁶ If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear. ¹⁷ And when He entered into a house from the crowd, His disciples questioned Him about the parable. ¹⁸ And He said to them, Are you also so undiscerning? Do you not perceive that all that enters from the outside into the man is not able to defile him? ¹⁹ This is because it does not enter into his heart, but into the belly, and goes out into the wastebowl, purging all the foods.

¹² in which were all the four-footed animals of the earth, and the wild beasts, and the creeping things, and the birds of the heaven. ¹³ And a voice came to him, Rise up, Peter, slay and eat. ¹⁴ But Peter said, Not at all, Lord, because I never did eat anything common or unclean.

² One indeed believes to eat all things, but being weak, another one eats vegetables. ³ The one eating, do not despise the one not eating. And the one not eating, do not judge the one eating, for God received him.

¹⁴ I know and am persuaded in the Lord Jesus that nothing by itself is common; except to the one counting anything to be common, it is common. ¹⁵ But if your brother is grieved because of your food, you no longer walk according to love. Do not by your food destroy that one for whom Christ died.

⁴ Because every creature of God is good, and nothing to be thrust away, but having been received with thanksgiving; ⁵ for through God's Word and prayerful intercourse, it is sanctified. ⁶ Having suggested these things to the brothers, you will be a good minister of Jesus Christ, having been nourished by the words of faith, and by the good doctrine which you have followed.

¹⁰ but only on foods and drinks, and various washings, and fleshly ordinances, until the time of setting things right has been imposed.

⁹ Do not be carried away by various and strange doctrine; for it is good that the heart be confirmed by grace, not by foods, in which those walking in them were not profited.

⁶ And these words which I am commanding you today shall be on your heart. ⁷ And you shall teach them to your sons, and shall speak of them as you sit in your house, and as you walk in the way, and as you are lying down, and as you are rising up.

³ You shall eat no leavened bread with it. You shall eat unleavened bread with it seven days, even the bread of affliction. For you came out of the land of Egypt in haste, so that you may remember the day that you came out of the land of Egypt all the days of your life. ⁴ And there shall be no leaven seen with you in your borders seven days; nor shall any of the flesh which you sacrificed the first day at evening remain all night until the morning. ⁵ You may not sacrifice the Passover offering inside any of your gates, which Jehovah your God gives you. ⁶ But at the place which He shall choose to cause His name to dwell there, you shall sacrifice the Passover offering at evening, at the going of the sun, at the time when you came out of Egypt. ⁷ And you shall cook and eat in the place which Jehovah your God shall choose. And in the morning you shall turn and go into your tents. ⁸ You shall eat unleavened bread six days, and on the seventh day shall be a solemn assembly to Jehovah your God. You shall do no work.

¹ Blessed is the man who has not walked in the counsel of the ungodly, and has not stood in the way of sinners and has not sat in the seat of scorners. ² But his delight is only in the law of Jehovah, and he meditates in His law day and night.

¹ My son, if you will receive My words, and treasure up My commandments with you, ² so that you attend to wisdom, you shall extend your heart to understanding.

¹⁰ When wisdom enters into your heart, and knowledge is pleasing to your soul,

⁶ Forsake the foolish, and live, and go in the way of understanding.

¹¹ And these were more noble than those in Thessalonica, for they received the Word with all readiness, daily examining the Scriptures if these things are so .

¹⁷ Because of this, "come out from among them" "and be separated," says the Lord, "and do not touch the unclean thing," and I will receive you. Isa. 52:11

¹⁵ Give care to these things; be in these things in order that your progress may be plain in all.

¹⁴ Their soul dies in youth, and their life ends among the sodomites.

¹⁸ high hills are for the wild goats; rocks are a refuge for the badgers.

²⁶ rock badgers are not a powerful people, yet they make their houses in the rock;

²⁶ And everyone who hears these words of Mine, and who does not do them, he shall be compared to a foolish man who built his house on the sand;

¹⁸ and know the will, and approve the things excelling, being instructed out of the Law, ¹⁹ and persuading yourself to be a guide of blind ones, a light to those in darkness, ²⁰ an instructor of foolish ones, a teacher of infants, having the form of knowledge and of the truth in the Law. ²¹ Then the one teaching another, do you not teach yourself? The one preaching not to steal, do you steal? ²² The one saying not to commit adultery, do you commit adultery? The one detesting the idols, do you rob temples? ²³ You who boast in Law, do you dishonor God through transgression of the Law? ²⁴ For the name of God is blasphemed among the nations through you, even as it has been written: Isa. 52:5

¹⁸ For many walk as the enemies of the cross of Christ, of whom I often told you, and now even weeping I say it, ¹⁹ whose end is destruction, whose god is the belly, and who glory in their shame, those who mind earthly things.

⁵ having a form of godliness, but denying the power of it; even turn away from these.

¹⁶ They profess to know God, but by their works they deny Him, being abominable and disobedient, and worthless to every good work.

⁷ But you shall not eat of those that only chew the cud, or those only dividing the cloven hoof: the camel, and the hare, and the rock badger; for they chew the cud but do not divide the hoof. They shall be unclean to you. ⁸ And the swine, because it divides the hoof, but does not chew the cud; it is unclean to you. You shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead body.

⁴ who sit among the graves and lodge in the towers; who eat swine's flesh, and broth of unclean things in their pots;

³ He who kills an ox is as if he struck a man; he who sacrifices a lamb is as if he broke a dog's neck; he who offers a present is as if it were swine's blood; he who marks incense is as if he blessed an idol. Yea, they have chosen their way, and their soul delights in their abominations.

¹⁷ Those who sanctify themselves, and purify themselves to the gardens, each one in the midst, eaters of swine's flesh, and the hateful thing, and the mouse, these are cut off together, says Jehovah.

⁶ Do not give that which is holy to the dogs, nor throw your pearls before the pigs, that they should not trample them with their feet, and turning they may tear you.

³³ And coming out from the man, the demons entered into the pigs; and the herd rushed down the cliff into the lake and was choked.

¹⁵ And going, he was joined to one of the citizens of that country. And he sent him into his fields to feed pigs.

¹⁸ For speaking great swelling words of vanity, by the lusts of the flesh, by unbridled lusts, they allure those indeed escaping the ones living in error, ¹⁹ promising them freedom, though themselves being slaves of corruption; for by whom anyone has been overcome, even to this one he has been enslaved. ²⁰ For if by a full knowledge of the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, they have escaped the defilements of the world, and again being entangled they have been overcome by these, then their last things have become worse than the first. ²¹ For it was better for them not to have fully known the way of righteousness, than fully knowing to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them. ²² But the word of the true proverb has happened to them: " The dog turning to his own vomit;" also, the washed sow to wallowing in mud. Prov. 26:11

² Or if a soul touches any unclean thing, or the unclean dead body of an animal, or the unclean dead body of livestock, or the dead body of unclean swarming things, it being hidden from him that he is unclean and is guilty,

¹¹ Turn! Turn! Go out from there! Touch not the unclean! Go out of her midst, purify yourselves, bearers of the vessels of Jehovah.

³ They shall not live in the land of Jehovah. But Ephraim shall return to Egypt, and they shall eat unclean things in Assyria.

²⁰ These things are the things defiling the man. But eating with unwashed hands does not defile the man.

² And seeing some of His disciples eating bread with unclean, that is unwashed hands, they found fault.

But as they were preparing, an ecstasy fell on him. ¹¹ And he saw the heaven being opened and a certain vessel like a great sheet coming down on him, being bound by four corners, and let down onto the earth; ¹² in which were all the four-footed animals of the earth, and the wild beasts, and the creeping things, and the birds of the heaven. ¹³ And a voice came to him, Rise up, Peter, slay and eat. ¹⁴ But Peter said, Not at all, Lord, because I never did eat anything common or unclean. ¹⁵ And again a voice came to him a second time, What things God made clean, you do not make common.

²⁸ And he said to them, You know how unlawful it is for a man, a Jew, to unite with or to come near to one of another race. Yet God showed to me not to call a man common or unclean.

²⁹ To hold back from idol sacrifices, and blood, and that strangled, and from fornication; from which continually keeping yourselves, you will do well. Be prospered.

¹⁴ I know and am persuaded in the Lord Jesus that nothing by itself is common; except to the one counting anything to be common, it is common. ¹⁵ But if your brother is grieved because of your food, you no longer walk according to love. Do not by your food destroy that one for whom Christ died. ¹⁶ Then do not let your good be spoken evil of. ¹⁷ For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

²¹ It is good not to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor anything by which your brother stumbles, or is offended, or is weak.

⁸ But food will not commend us to God. For neither if we eat do we excel, nor if we do not eat are we behind.

⁷ Then do not be partners with them;

¹¹ And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather even reprove them .

¹⁶ Then do not let anyone judge you in eating, or in drinking, or in respect of a feast, or the new moon, or of sabbaths,

²¹ Do not handle, do not taste, do not touch, ²² These things are all to rot away in the using, according to the "injunctions and teachings of men." Isa. 29:13 ²³ Which things indeed have a reputation of wisdom in self-imposed worship and humility, and unsparing severity of the body, not in any honor with respect to gratification of the flesh.

⁹ These you shall eat of all in the waters: you shall eat all that have fins and scales. ¹⁰ And whatever does not have fins and scales, you shall not eat. It shall be unclean to you.

²¹ earnestly testifying both to Jews and to Greeks repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

⁶ For in Christ Jesus, neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any strength, but faith working through love.

¹⁸ But someone will say, You have faith, and I have works. Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith out of my works.

² By this we know that we love the children of God: when we love God and keep His commandments. ³ For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments; and His commandments are not heavy. ⁴ Because everything having been born of God overcomes the world, and this is the victory overcoming the world, our faith. ⁵ Who is the one overcoming the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

¹⁸ And if any of the flesh of the sacrifice of his peace offerings is at all eaten on the third day, it is not pleasing. It shall not be reckoned for him who has brought it. It shall be a hateful thing, and the person who eats of it shall bear his iniquity.

³ You shall not eat any abominable thing.

²¹ O Jehovah, do not I hate those hating You? And am I not detesting those rising against You? ²² I hate them with a perfect hatred; they have become my enemies.

²⁰ He who walks with the wise shall be wise, but one associating with fools shall be broken.

²⁷ An unjust man is an abomination to the righteous, and the upright of way are an abomination to the wicked.

⁸ But for the cowardly and unbelieving, and those having become foul, and murderers, and fornicators, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all the lying ones, their part will be in the Lake burning with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.

⁷ There is a path not known to birds of prey, nor has a falcon's eye caught sight of it;

⁴¹ Who provides food for the raven, when its young ones cry to God and wander about without food?

²⁷ Or does the eagle mount up at your mouth, and make his nest on high? ²⁸ He lives and stays on the rock, on the crag of the rock and the stronghold. ²⁹ From there he seeks food; his eyes see afar off. ³⁰ And his young brood also sucks up blood; and where the pierced ones are, there he is .

¹³ Behold, he shall come up like clouds, and his chariots like a tempest. His horses are swifter than eagles. Woe to us, for we are plundered!

²² For My people are foolish. They do not know Me. They are stupid children, and they have no understanding. They are wise to do evil, but they do not know to do good.

⁴⁰ For so says Jehovah: Behold, he shall fly like an eagle, and shall spread his wings toward Moab.

¹⁹ Our pursuers were swifter than the eagles of the heavens; they hotly pursued us on the mountains; they lay in wait for us in the wilderness.

¹ Put a horn to your mouth. He comes like an eagle against the house of Jehovah, because they have broken My covenant and have sinned against My law.

⁸ His horses also are swifter than leopards and are fiercer than the evening wolves. And their horsemen spread themselves; yea, their horsemen come from afar; they shall fly as the eagle hurrying to eat.

²⁸ For wherever the dead body may be, there the eagles will be gathered.

²⁸ And even as they did not think fit to have God in their knowledge, God gave them up to a reprobate mind, to do the things not right, ²⁹ having been filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, iniquity, covetousness, malice, being full of envy, murder, quarrels, deceit, evil habits, becoming whisperers, ³⁰ slanderers, God-haters, insolent, proud, braggarts, devisers of evil things, disobedient to parents, ³¹ without discernment, perfidious, without natural affection, unforgiving, unmerciful, ³² who knowing the righteous order of God, that those practicing such things are worthy of death, not only do them, but also applaud those practicing them .

¹³ "Their throat is an opened grave;" "they used deceit with their tongues; the poison of asps is under their lips; ¹⁴ whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness. ¹⁵ Their feet are swift to shed blood; ¹⁶ ruin and misery are in their way; ¹⁷ and they did not know a way of peace;

³ For we also once were senseless, disobedient, led astray, slaving for various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another.

⁷ And he sent out a raven, and it went out, going out and returning until the waters were dried up from off the earth.

⁴ And it shall be, you shall drink of the torrent; and I shall command the ravens to feed you there.

⁶ And the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening; and he drank of the torrent.

¹⁷ The eye that mocks its father, and despises to obey its mother, the ravens of the valley shall pick it out, the sons of the eagle shall eat it.

²⁴ Consider the ravens, for they do not sow, nor do they reap; to which there is no storehouse or barn, and God feeds them. How much rather you differ from the birds!

¹⁵ and the ostrich, and the great owl, and the sea gull, and small hawks by their kinds, ¹⁶ the little owl, and the eared owl, and the barn owl, ¹⁷ and the pelican, and the owl, and the cormorant, ¹⁸ and the stork, and the heron after its kind, and the hoopoe, and the bat.

⁶ I am like a pelican of the wilderness; I am like an owl of the desert.

²¹ But the desert creatures shall lie there; and their houses shall be full of howling creatures; and daughters of ostriches shall dwell there; and he goats shall skip there. ²² And hyenas shall cry along with his widows; and jackals in palaces of delight. Yea, her time to come is near, and her days shall not be prolonged.

¹¹ But the owl and the hedgehog shall possess it; and the eared owl and the raven shall live in it. And He shall stretch out on it the line of shame, and the stones of emptiness. ¹² They shall call its nobles to a kingdom, but none shall be there; and all her rulers shall be nothing. ¹³ And thorns shall grow in her palaces, nettles and thistles in its fortresses; and it shall be a home for jackals, a court for daughters of ostriches. ¹⁴ The desert creatures shall also meet with the howlers; and the shaggy goat shall cry to his fellow. The screech owl shall also settle there, and find a place of rest for herself. ¹⁵ The snake shall nest there, and shall lay, and hatch, and shall gather in her shadow. Vultures shall also be gathered together, each with its mate.

¹⁹ And this is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness more than the Light, for their works were evil. ²⁰ For everyone practicing wickedness hates the Light, and does not come to the Light, that his works may not be exposed. ²¹ But the one doing the truth comes to the Light, that his works may be revealed, that they exist, having been worked in God.

² in which you then walked according to the course of this world, according to the ruler of the authority of the air, the spirit now working in the sons of disobedience, ³ among whom we also all conducted ourselves in times past in the lusts of our flesh, doing the things willed of the flesh and of the understandings, and were by nature the children of wrath, even as the rest.

¹⁸ having been darkened in the understanding, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance which is in them because of the hardness of their heart, ¹⁹ who, having cast off all feeling, gave themselves up to lust, for the working of all uncleanness with greediness.

⁷ Then do not be partners with them; ⁸ for you then were darkness, but now light in the Lord; walk as children of light. ⁹ For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth, ¹⁰ proving what is pleasing to the Lord. ¹¹ And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather even reprove them .

⁵ You are all sons of light and sons of day; we are not of night, nor of darkness. ⁶ So then, we should not sleep, as the rest also do, but we should watch and be sober. ⁷ For those sleeping sleep by night, and those having been drunk are drunk by night.

² And he cried in a strong, great voice, saying, Babylon the great has fallen! It has fallen, and it has become a dwelling-place of demons, and a prison of every unclean spirit, and a prison of every unclean bird, even having been hated,

²³ But every swarming thing which flies, which has four feet, it is unclean to you.

²⁷ And any going on its paws among all the living things which go on all four, they are unclean to you; anyone who touches their dead body is unclean until the evening;

¹⁹ And every teeming thing that flies shall be unclean to you; they shall not be eaten.

²⁸ And one of the priests whom they exiled from Samaria came and lived in Bethel, and he taught them how they should fear Jehovah. ²⁹ And nation by nation was making gods of their own, and putting them in the houses of the high places which the Samaritans had made, nation by nation in their cities where they lived. ³⁰ And the men of Babylon made Succoth-benoth; and the men of Cuth made Nergal; and the men of Hamath made Ashima; ³¹ and the Avites made Nibhaz and Tartak; and the Sepharvites burned their sons with fire to Adrammelech and Anammelech the gods of Sepharvaim. ³² So it was that they feared Jehovah, and made for themselves, of the lowest of them, priests of the high places and they sacrificed for them in the houses of the high places. ³³ They feared Jehovah, and served their own gods, according to the custom of the nations from where they exiled them. ³⁴ To this day they do according to the former custom; they do not fear Jehovah, and do not do according to their statutes, and according to their ordinances, and according to the law, and according to the commandment that Jehovah commanded the sons of Jacob, on whom He set His name, Israel. ³⁵ And Jehovah made a covenant with them, and commanded them, saying, You shall not fear other gods, nor bow yourselves to them, nor serve them, nor sacrifice to them; ³⁶ but Jehovah who brought you up out of the land of Egypt with great power, and with a stretched out arm, you shall fear Him, and you shall bow yourselves to Him, and you shall sacrifice to Him; ³⁷ and the statutes, and the judgments, and the law, and the commandments that He wrote for you, you shall observe to do forever, and you shall not fear other gods; ³⁸ and the covenant that I have made with you, you shall not forget, and you shall not fear other gods; ³⁹ but you shall fear Jehovah your God, and He shall deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies. ⁴⁰ But they did not listen, but did according to their former custom. ⁴¹ And it happened, these nations feared Jehovah, yet they served their graven images, both their sons and their sons' sons, As their fathers did, they are doing to this day.

¹⁴ from men, by Your hand, O Jehovah, from men of the world whose portion is in this life, and their belly You fill with Your treasure; they are satisfied with sons, and will leave their riches to their babes.

²⁴ No one is able to serve two lords; for either he will hate the one, and he will love the other; or he will cleave to the one, and he will despise the other. You are not able to serve God and wealth.

¹⁰ For Demas deserted me, loving the present age, and he went to Thessalonica. Crescens went to Galatia, Titus to Dalmatia.

¹⁵ Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him, ¹⁶ because all that which is in the world: the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. ¹⁷ And the world is passing away, and its lust. But the one doing the will of God abides forever.

¹⁰ But what things they do not know, they speak evil of these. And what things they understand naturally, like the animals without reason, they are corrupted by these.

¹⁹ These are the ones setting themselves apart, animal-like ones, not having the Spirit.

⁴ For if you refuse to send away My people, behold, I am going to bring locusts into your territory tomorrow. ⁵ And they will cover the eye of the land, and no one will be able to see the land. And they will eat the rest of that which escaped, that which is left to you from the hail. And they will eat every tree that sprouts to you from the field.

³ Make the weak hands strong, and firm up the feeble knees.

⁴ And John himself had his clothing from hairs of a camel, and a belt of leather about his loin. And his food was locusts and wild honey.

⁶ And John was clothed in camel's hair, and a leather girdle about his loin, and eating locusts and wild honey.

¹ And receive the one who is weak in the faith, not to judgments of your thoughts.

¹ But we, the strong ones, ought to bear the weaknesses of those not strong, and not to please ourselves.

¹¹ Concerning whom we have much to say, and hard to interpret since you have become dull in hearing.

¹² Because of this, "straighten the hands" hanging alongside, "and the enfeebled knees;" ¹³ "and make straight tracks for your feet," that the lame not be turned aside, but rather healed. Isa. 35:3; Prov. 4:26

⁸ You shall not eat of their flesh, and you shall not touch their dead body; they are unclean to you.

²⁷ And any going on its paws among all the living things which go on all four, they are unclean to you; anyone who touches their dead body is unclean until the evening; ²⁸ and he who lifts up their dead body shall wash his garments and shall be unclean until the evening; they are unclean to you.

³¹ These are unclean to you among all which swarm; anyone who touches them in their death is unclean until the evening.

³⁸ but when water is put on the seed, and any of its dead body has fallen on it, it shall be unclean to you. ³⁹ And when any of the animals which are food for you dies, he who touches its dead body is unclean until the evening; ⁴⁰ and he who eats of its dead body shall wash his garments and shall be unclean until the evening; and he who lifts up its dead body shall wash his garments and shall be unclean until the evening.

¹⁵ And any person who eats a dead body or torn thing, be he a native, or an alien, he shall wash his clothes and bathe in water, and be unclean until the evening; then he shall be clean. ¹⁶ And if he does not wash them, nor bathe his flesh, then he shall bear his iniquity.

¹⁴ And Jehovah of Hosts revealed in my ears, Surely this iniquity shall not be covered for you until you die, says the Lord Jehovah of Hosts.

³³ Do not be led astray; bad companionships ruin good habits.

¹ and He worked in you who were once dead in trespasses and sins,

¹⁶ Then do not let anyone judge you in eating, or in drinking, or in respect of a feast, or the new moon, or of sabbaths, ¹⁷ which are a shadow of coming things, but the body is of Christ.

²⁰ If, then, you died with Christ from the elements of the world, why are you under its decrees, as living in the world?

²⁶ since He must often have suffered from the foundation of the world. But now once for all, at the completion of the ages, He has been manifested for putting away of sin through the sacrifice of Himself.

⁷ But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of His Son Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin.

¹⁰ And Jehovah said to Moses, Go to the people and sanctify them today and tomorrow. And let them wash their clothes.

And the one carrying those things shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the evening. ¹¹ And whomever he who discharges touches, and has not rinsed his hands in water, he shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the evening.

¹³ And when he who discharges is cleansed of his discharge, then he shall number to himself seven days for his cleansing, and wash his clothes. And he shall bathe his flesh in running water, and shall be clean.

²⁸ And he burning them shall wash his garments, and shall bathe his flesh with water, and afterwards he shall come into the camp.

⁸ And he that burned her shall wash his clothes in water, and shall bathe his flesh in water, and shall be unclean until the evening.

⁶ For so says Jehovah of hosts: Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens and the earth and the sea and the dry land.

¹⁵ And He said to them, Beware, and keep back from covetousness; for one's life is not in the abundance of the things which are his.

¹⁴ And being lovers of money, the Pharisees also heard all these things; and they derided Him.

²⁶ Jesus answered them and said, Truly, truly, I say to you, you seek Me not because you saw miracles, but because you ate of the loaves and were satisfied.

⁶⁶ From this time many of His disciples went away into the things behind, and no longer walked with Him.

¹⁴ so that we may no longer be infants, having been blown and carried to and fro by every wind of doctrine, in the underhandedness of men, in craftiness with a view to the trickery of error,

¹⁹ whose end is destruction, whose god is the belly, and who glory in their shame, those who mind earthly things.

⁵ Then put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication; uncleanness; passion; evil lust; and covetousness, which is idolatry;

² For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, braggarts, arrogant, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, ³ without natural feeling, unyielding, slanderers, without self-control, savage, haters of good, ⁴ betrayers, reckless, puffed up, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, ⁵ having a form of godliness, but denying the power of it; even turn away from these.

⁵ Set your way of life without money-loving, being satisfied with present things; for He has said, "Not at all will I leave you, not at all will I forsake you," never! Deut. 31:6

²⁸ And an earthen vessel in which it is boiled shall be broken. And if it is boiled in a bronze vessel, then it shall be scoured and rinsed with water.

¹² And the earthen vessel that he who discharges touches shall be broken; and every wooden vessel shall be rinsed in water.

¹⁴ who gave Himself on our behalf, "that He might redeem us from all iniquity" "and purify" "a people" "for His own possession," zealous of good works. Psa. 130:8; Eze. 37:23; Deut. 14:2

⁵ not by works in righteousness which we had done, but according to His mercy, He saved us through the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit,

³⁵ And anything on which any part of their dead body falls shall be unclean; an oven or hearth shall be broken down; they are unclean; yes, they are unclean to you.

⁴⁵ And he shall break down the house; its stones, and its wood, and all the clay of the house; and he shall carry out to the outside of the city, to an unclean place.

³⁸ On all Moab's housetops, and in its streets, is wailing for all. For I have broken Moab like a vessel; no pleasure is in it, says Jehovah.

¹ For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle is taken down, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in Heaven. ² For indeed in this we groan, greatly desiring to be clothed with our dwelling place out of Heaven, ³ if indeed in being clothed, we shall not be found naked. ⁴ For indeed, being in the tabernacle, we groan, having been weighted down, inasmuch as we do not wish to be unclothed, but to be clothed, so that the mortal may be swallowed up by the life. ⁵ And He having worked in us for this same thing is God, who also is giving us the earnest of the Spirit. ⁶ Then always being fully assured, and knowing that being at home in the body we are away from home from the Lord ⁷ (for we walk by faith, not by sight), ⁸ we are fully assured, then, and are pleased rather to go away from home out of the body, and to come home to the Lord.

²¹ who will transform our body of humiliation, for it to be conformed to His body of glory, according to the working of His power, even to put all things under Himself.

⁸ The sacrifice of the wicked is a hateful thing to Jehovah, but the prayer of the upright is His delight.

⁴ High eyes, a proud heart, and the lamp of the wicked, is sin.

²⁷ The sacrifice of the wicked is hateful, how much more when he brings it with an evil intent!

⁸ He who multiplies his wealth by interest and usury, he shall gather it for him who pities the weak.

¹⁵ Truly, all things are pure to the pure, but to the ones having been defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure, but even their mind and conscience has been defiled.

³³ Ad any earthen vessel into the midst of which any one of them falls, whatever is in it shall be unclean, and you shall break it.

²³ having been born again, not by corruptible seed, but incorruptible, through the living word of God, and remaining forever.

⁹ Everyone who has been begotten of God does not sin, because His seed abides in him, and he is not able to sin, because he has been born of God.

¹⁸ We know that everyone having been born of God does not sin, but the one born of God keeps himself, and the evil does not touch him.

²⁴ And by these you shall be made unclean; any who touches their dead body is unclean until the evening.

²¹ You shall not eat of anything that died of itself. You may give it to the alien who is within your gates, that he may eat it. Or you may sell it to a foreigner. For you are a holy people to Jehovah your God. You shall not simmer a kid in its mother's milk.

¹⁶ Wash yourselves, purify yourselves. Put away the evil of your doings from My sight; stop doing evil.

²⁵ Then I will sprinkle clean waters on you, and you shall be clean. I will cleanse you from all your defilement and from all your idols.

³¹ The priests shall not eat of every corpse and torn thing, of birds, or of beasts.

¹¹ And some were these things, but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God.

²¹ you cannot drink the cup of the Lord and a cup of demons; you cannot partake of the table of the Lord, and a table of demons.

¹⁴ And Jehovah God said to the serpent, Because you have done this, you are cursed above all beasts, and above every animal of the field. You shall go on your belly, and you shall eat dust all the days of your life. ¹⁵ And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed; He will bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel.

²⁵ The wolf and the lamb shall feed as one; and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. And dust is the food of the snake. They shall not do evil nor destroy in all My holy mountain, says Jehovah.

¹⁷ They shall lick the dust like a snake; they shall tremble out of their holes like crawlers of the earth; they shall dread Jehovah our God; they shall fear from You.

⁷ But seeing many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said to them, Offspring of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

²³ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithes of mint and dill and cummin, and you have left aside the weightier matters of the Law: judgment, and mercy, and faith. It was right to do these, and not to have left those aside.

⁴⁴ You are of the Devil as father, and the lusts of your father you desire to do. That one was a murderer from the beginning, and he has not stood in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own, because he is a liar, and the father of it.

³ But I fear lest by any means, as the serpent deceived Eve in his craftiness, so your thoughts should be corrupted from the purity which is due to Christ.

¹³ For such ones are false apostles, deceitful workers transforming themselves into apostles of Christ.

¹² One of them, a prophet of their own, said: Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons.

²⁵ And you shall make a difference between the clean animals and the unclean, and between the unclean fowl and the clean. And you shall not defile yourself by beast or by fowl, or by anything which swarms the ground, which I have set apart to you as unclean;

⁷ And I will take you for Myself for a people, and I will be a God for you. And you shall know that I am Jehovah your God, the One bringing you out from under the burdens of Egypt.

⁶ And you shall become a kingdom of priests for Me, a holy nation. These are the words which you shall speak to the sons of Israel.

² I am Jehovah your God, who has brought you out from the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.

²⁵ And you shall serve Jehovah your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will remove sickness from your midst.

³ And Moses said to Aaron, It is that which Jehovah has spoken, saying, I will be sanctified by those drawing near to Me; and I will be honored before all the people. And Aaron was silent.

⁴³ you shall not pollute yourselves with any swarming thing which swarms, nor shall you make yourselves unclean with them, so that you should be defiled by them.

² Speak to all the congregation of the sons of Israel, and you shall say to them, You are holy, for I am holy, Jehovah your God.

⁷ And you shall sanctify yourselves, and you shall be holy, for I am Jehovah your God;

²⁶ and you shall be holy to Me, for I, Jehovah, am holy; and I have set you apart from the nations to become Mine.

⁸ And you shall sanctify him, for he brings near the bread of your God; he is holy to you; for I am holy, Jehovah who is sanctifying you.

² For you are a holy people to Jehovah your God; and Jehovah has chosen you to be a people to Him, a special treasure out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth.

²⁰ And the men of Beth-shemesh said, Who is able to stand before Jehovah, this holy God? And to whom shall He go up from us?

⁵ Exalt Jehovah our God and worship at His footstool; He is holy.

⁹ Exalt Jehovah our God and worship at His holy hill; for Jehovah our God is holy.

³ And one cried to the other and said, Holy, holy, holy is Jehovah of Hosts; all the earth is full of His glory! ⁴ And the doorposts shook from the voice of the one who cried; and the house was filled with smoke. ⁵ Then I said, Woe is me! For I am cut off; for I am a man of unclean lips, and I live amongst a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, Jehovah of Hosts.

³ For I am Jehovah your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. I gave Egypt for your atonement; Ethiopia and Seba instead of you.

¹⁵ But I am Jehovah your God, stirring up the sea and a making its waves roar; Jehovah of Hosts is His name.

³ Will two walk together unless they are agreed?

⁴⁸ Therefore, you be perfect even as your Father in Heaven is perfect.

⁷ For God did not call us to impurity, but in sanctification.

¹⁵ but according to the Holy One who has called you, you also become holy in all conduct; ¹⁶ because it has been written, "Be holy," "because I am holy." Lev. 19:2

⁹ But you are "an elect race," "a royal priesthood," "a holy nation," "a people for possession," so that "you may openly speak of the virtues" of the One who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; LXX-Ex. 23:22; MT-Ex. 19:5, 6

¹¹ The one acting unjustly, let him still act unjustly; and the filthy, let him still be filthy; and the righteous, let him still do righteousness; and the holy, let him still be holy.

⁴⁴ For I am Jehovah your God, and you have sanctified yourselves, and you have become holy, for I am holy. And you shall not defile your persons with any swarming thing which creeps on the earth;

³⁸ I am Jehovah who has brought you out of the land of Egypt, to give to you the land of Canaan, to become your God.

⁴³ and He brought His people out with joy; His chosen ones with gladness. ⁴⁴ And He gave to them the lands of the nations; and they inherited the labor of the peoples; ⁴⁵ so that they might observe His statutes and keep His laws. Praise Jehovah!

¹ When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and I called My son out of Egypt.

¹⁶ because it has been written, "Be holy," "because I am holy." Lev. 19:2

³⁷ This is the law for burnt offering, for the food offering, and for sin offering, and for guilt offering, and for consecrations, and for a sacrifice of the peace offerings,

⁵⁴ This is the law for every plague of the leprosy and for scabs;

³² This is the law of him that discharges, and of him from whom semen flows out, for uncleanness by it;

¹² This is the law of the house: On the top of the mountain is all its border, all around, being most holy. Behold, this is the law of the house.

¹⁰ and to make a distinction between the holy and profane, and between the unclean and the clean;

²³ And they shall teach My people between the holy and the common, and between the unclean and the clean, to make them known.

¹⁸ Then you shall again see the difference between the righteous and the wicked, between him who serves God and him who does not serve Him.

¹³ Then let us no longer judge one another, but rather judge this, not to put a stumbling-block or an offense toward a brother. ¹⁴ I know and am persuaded in the Lord Jesus that nothing by itself is common; except to the one counting anything to be common, it is common. ¹⁵ But if your brother is grieved because of your food, you no longer walk according to love. Do not by your food destroy that one for whom Christ died. ¹⁶ Then do not let your good be spoken evil of. ¹⁷ For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. ¹⁸ For the one serving Christ in these things is pleasing to God, and approved by men. ¹⁹ So then let us pursue the things of peace, and the things for building up one another. ²⁰ Do not by your food undo the work of God. Truly, all things are clean, but it is bad to the man who eats through a stumbling-block. ²¹ It is good not to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor anything by which your brother stumbles, or is offended, or is weak. ²² Do you have faith? Have it to yourself before God. Blessed is the one not condemning himself in what he approves. ²³ But the one doubting, if he eats, he has been condemned, because it is not of faith; and whatever is not of faith is sin.
