²⁰ But Peter said to him, May your silver be with you into perdition, because you thought to get the gift of God through money.

²⁶ And you shall not bring an abomination into your house, that you not be a cursed thing like it. You shall utterly detest it, and you shall utterly hate it; for it is a cursed thing.

⁹ Beware that there is no evil thought in your heart, saying, The seventh year, the year of release draws near; and your eye be evil against your needy brother, and you give him nothing, and he cry to Jehovah against you and it be sin to you.

²⁴ And Joshua, and all Israel with him, took Achan the son of Zerah, and the silver, and the robe, and the wedge of gold, and his sons, and his daughters, and his oxen, and his ass, and his flock, and his tent, and all that he had. And they made them go up to the valley of Achor. ²⁵ And Joshua said, How you have troubled us! Jehovah shall trouble you today! ¹⁵ And he went back to the man of God, he and all his company, and came in and stood before him, and said, Behold, now I know that there is not a God in all the earth except in Israel. And now, please take a blessing from your servant. ¹⁶ And he said, As Jehovah lives, before whom I stand, I shall not take. And he pressed on him to take, but he refused.

²⁶ And he said to him. Did not my heart go out when the man turned from his chariot to meet you. Is it a time to take silver, and to take garments and olives, and vineyards, and flock, and herd, and male slaves, and slave-girls? ²⁷ Yea, the leprosy of Naaman shall cling to you, and to your seed forever. And he went out from him as leprous as snow.

²⁶ The thoughts of the wicked are very hateful to Jehovah, but the words of pleasantness are pure.

¹ Ho, everyone who thirsts, come to the water; and he who has no silver, come buy grain and eat. Yes, come buy grain, wine and milk without silver and with no price.

¹⁷ Then Daniel answered and said before the king, Let your gifts be to yourself, and give your rewards to another. Yet I will read the writing to the king, and make the meaning known to him.

⁹ Woe to him who robs evil booty for his house, to set his nest on high, to be delivered from the hand of evil! ¹⁰ You have advised shame for your house, to make an end of many peoples, and are sinning in your soul.

¹⁹ For out of the heart come forth evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, lies, blasphemies.

³ Then Judas, the one betraying Him, seeing that He was condemned, repenting, returned the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and the elders, ⁴ saying, I sinned, betraying innocent blood. But they said, What is it to us? You see to it . ⁵ And tossing the silver pieces into the Holy Place, he left. And going away he hanged himself.

¹⁸ Indeed, then, this one bought a field out of the reward of unrighteousness; and falling headlong, he burst in the middle, and poured out all his bowels.

³⁸ And Peter said to them, Repent and be baptized, each of you on the name of Jesus Christ to remission of sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

²² Repent, then, from this wickedness of yours, and petition God if perhaps you will be forgiven the thought of your heart.

⁴⁵ And the faithful of the circumcision were amazed, as many as came with Peter, because the gift of the Holy Spirit was poured out on the nations also.

¹⁷ Then if God gave the same gift to them as also to us, believing on the Lord Jesus Christ, and I, who was I to be able to prevent God?

⁹ But those having purposed to be rich fall into temptation, and a snare, and many foolish and hurtful lusts, which plunge men into destruction and loss.

³ Your gold and silver have rusted over, and their poison will be a testimony to you, and will eat your flesh as fire. You heaped treasure in the last days.

¹⁴ having eyes full of an adulteress, and never ceasing from sin; alluring unsettled souls; having a heart busied with covetousness; cursed children; ¹⁵ forsaking a straight path, they went astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Beor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness, ¹⁶ but had reproof of his own transgression, the dumb ass speaking in a man's voice held back the madness of the prophet. ¹⁷ These are springs without water, clouds being driven by tempest, for whom the blackness of darkness is kept forever.

¹⁵ The merchants of these things, the ones being enriched from her, will stand from afar because of the fear of her torment, weeping and mourning;
